Oasis of the Seas is now the largest cruise ship in terms of tonnage AND length. It is 220,000 tons and 1181 feet long. The Freedom and Independence of the Seas are around 155,000 gross tons with Queen Mary 2 coming in at 150,000 tons. Queen Mary 2 was the longest at 1132' until Oasis arrived.

Out of the 3 ships, the Freedom, Liberty and Independance, even though identical, it is the Liberty of the seas that is the largest of the three, By 2 inches, so technically speaking the Liberty of the seas is the Largest cruise ship in the world.

@suprac19 Did you cruised with the Liberty? Because the Cruise Director is telling this in one of his shows as a Joke, Hé says: This ship is 2inches longer than the others because the guy who was welding the ship together couldn't weld very good :)

yes i did and he wasn't saying it as part of a joke and didn't mention the guys welding abilities either.

It is possible though with something 1112ft in length, the 3 ships cant be exact, they are not made in moulds and small differences in the joins over 1112ft could make a tiny 2inch difference at the end.
