I just bought a mtn bike and i have some gas motors laying around. Should i put one on the bike to get where i need to go faster but can pedal when im out of gas or need to be quiet?
Good video, btw you might want to invest in a chord lock b/c you can run it through your back wheel around the frame and object your locking it to and then through the front wheel and lock it that way no one can steal the wheels. that could turn into a bad situation if bugging out. Also very nice bike.
@rqm420 - Yes, I know it is the worst state to live in if you are a Prepper. I will eventually buy a home in another state, later on. For right now, it is where I am at. I make the best of where I am. I love the weather, but the people really ruin this place. Thanks for the comment, and for watching my videos. ~ Biggs ~ TeamAlphaTaskForce
@Alfox94 - I have loved doing these videos, and even got more topics coming on the way. I have just purchased another Bug Out Vehicle, and can't wait to do some video work on it. Stay tuned because more videos are coming your way! Thanks for watching and commenting! ~ Biggs ~ TeamAlphaTaskForce
Nice bike, I picked up a new GIANT "Seek 1", and I love it. I find it pretty comfortable to ride, and was a great bang for the buck, considering it even has Disc Brakes! I found some nice insulated bottles at a local bike shop, and usually fill them with ice before filling with a beverage (juice, or water). And the beverage will stay ICE COLD for almost the entire day! Nice video!
@laney50w - Glad to hear! I agree they are great for a first time biker, cheap and forgiving. I would def recommend the disc brakes, but I have not have a single problem with mine so far. I have heard other brands failing on disc brakes so be sure to do your homework first. You are right about the drink holders they make a difference, and it sure is nice to drink water on the ride without stopping. Thanks again for your comment and the visit. ~ Biggs ~ TeamAlphaTaskForce
You can also bike on the San Gabriel River all the way to the mountains in Azusa. I bug out there all the time for trout fishing. The LA river bike path is another great bug out route.
@doomgiant - I use some of those trails on my bike runs. Great locations to ride on. Thanks for the comment. Hope you keep enjoying my videos. ~ Biggs ~ TeamAlphaTaskForce
Find a trek trailer from trek they are all alumunium also get an inflatable boat that way you could carry your water food supply and boat boat weighs 30 lbs you load the bike in the boat. Get extra innertubes for trailer and bike. Where you are land will be difficult to escape taking to the water would be preferable to trying to trek through the desert. Get a spot satellite beacon should you get carried out to sea practicing you will be rescued. I have other ideas for purely portable ways.
its surprising how many people don't think about bikes when they plan their BOV. personally I like having it as a secondary, just throw it on my jeep and im ready to go
@phoenix120000 - Yes I agree. It is one of the easiest ways to get around. Jeeps are king off the road! Nice plan brotha! I Hope you can make a video of that as showcase it! Thanks for the comment! ~ General Biggs -
@HazmaTeam007 - Thanks for watching brotha! I will! I have some already and will include them into videos later. I have been shooting film for 4 months now, and will post some of the newer videos soon. Thanks again for the comment. I will add you to the network! ~ General Biggs ~
@GuldenBattleSpur - Thanks for the comment! I actually pack 4 to 5 separate water bottles, and I reload them at every stop. I generally only wanted to carry a Bug Out Bag on my back, and that makes the water warmer than I would like it. I placed a bike rack on the rear in the later videos. This allows me to place the bag in the basket rather than on my back. ~ General Biggs ~
Great idea but a few mods will help out a lot. If you could get toe straps or modify a pair of boots to support a clipless pedal system, you would save a lot of energy, by not only producing power from pushing down and forward, but also by pulling up and back. Works a different muscle group, but at least 30% more efficient. Also, raising your seat will give you more efficient pedal powering and better on the joints. A set of hybrid tires will work great for on and off road conditions and ice
@jasonjudestevens - Thanks for the Comment! If you watch to the newer videos, You will find me constantly upgrading and changing the rig. I will look into the pedal toe straps, I do need to pull and push. You are right. I will also switch the tires after I get the use out of the ones I have now. I have also raised my seat since then. Thanks again Brotha! ~ General Biggs ~
You have the right idea here, having a mountain bike will be a way better than being on foot if you have to cover some miles when on your own. If an EMP is deployed no modern gas engine vehicles will operate, who knows what can happen. But a mountain bike is quiet and non-dependent of gas, great vid.
lol, watch out for the DP, that stuff isnt good for hot summer days on a bike.
@MilitantPIG - I don't know where you live, but I live in Los Angeles. If it rains here we have major traffic jams. That's why I choose to make sure I can jam on the Bug Out Bike, and head to my Team Alpha's Meeting Points. An EMP is possible, so BE PREPARED! Thanks again for the input brotha!
@TeamAlphaTaskForce I live in the best state in the Union, TEXAS! Lucky for me I live far away from Dallas but drivable for concerts and whatnot... but far enough away all I need to do is Dig In and wait the hard shit out. Life is not bad when your surrounded by good ol' boys with guns itching to put bangers and crackheads down for the count. "We dont take kindly to those types hanging around these here parts" lol
Plus TX has the best BBQ in the world so I'm happy.
@MilitantPIG - DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!!!!! Got to love my American Brothers in Texas! Great place to be. I might buy a ranch out there after I retire from my Governmental Service. Keep up the good work brotha! and educate others to protect this great land and country of ours! Don't even get me started on the good ole southern home cookin!
@TeamAlphaTaskForce Texas is the place to be, just today I had fried catfish, hush puppies and fries with jalapeños and unsweetened Ice Tea. It's like heaven but you get to eat it. lol
Yes Sir, its always good to ride with your Bug Out Partner, and train to bug out. I am going to be riding every Monday at least 30 miles, and going to different locations. Hopefully I will be able to ride to the mountains and back around 70 miles. Keep tunning in for more videos!
@syco4420 - Thanks for the positive feedback! I have a lot to cover about the Bug Out Bike, Including front racks, back racks and baskets, tire pumps, carrying extra tubes, Bike repair tools, and other bike oprtions. I will be showing a bunch of other ideas. I did this video because we should all have a way of training while preparing to Bug Out. I will also look into buying a more offroad mountain bike soon to be toatlly ready to ride out. remember cars may not be an option.
Cool video.

cool vid. I just was wondering if a single speed would be better for a "B.O.B." as there is not so many parts?

Its always good to have a partner, 2 is one and one is none. Good job. Too many hills in my area for a bike, unless it has a motor on it:).
