@BonIverSUCKS Until you create a record and enjoy heavy critical success from it, you can't speak about ANY artist being shit, especially Bon Iver. You don't deserve to breathe in the air that he does. I also pity you and hope you find a better life than living to just speak negativity about one man, who clearly doesn't care and neither do his fans. Furthermore, you don't seem to be getting anywhere from it. Good day to you.
@BonIverSUCKS you've no life, making an account devoting your disgust towards this man. Nothing better is coming from you. Troll your trolly trolling self under a goddamn bridge. No one wants such negativity in such a peaceful atmosphere.
Check out a cover of Flume by searching Ramble and Wake. Check out the originals titled Pills and Coulda been bad as well. Pease comment and let us know what you think. Any feedback is good feedback. Thanks.
everyone would do good to spend some time by themselves, but he just happens to be a great musician as well. i suppose this bugs me because it's not a new concept by any means, yet now it's somewhat "trendy" or something. however you go about making a great record is just as valid and "artistic" as any other way.
as much as i love the album version of the song "for emma" (though i adore the myspace session version far more) i'd love to hear the original version justin had before the horms were added
I think it's supposed to seem edgy and cool. It's kind of how they record on shows like The Office and 24, but you're right it is just annoying for an interview.
Thoreau went into the woods and wrote walden. justin vernon went into the woods and wrote "for emma forever ago"... makes me wanna go spend some quality time at my grandparents cabin in Wisconsin.
Look at his interviews. There's an interview somewhere. He found it on ebay, and he bought it because it was old and fragile. So old and fragile is what you're lookin for ;)
he played the old ebay one (Kay brand) on the record. the guitar he uses to play "skinny love" is a National brand resonator guitar. And it's not exactly open C tuned, it's his own version of it, a bit off.
Going with a small indie label gives you total freedom with no pressure. Big commercial labels are only interested in immediate success. Once thats over your ass is over and done with.
The amazing Sparklehorse in North Carolina is forever creating music in a Log Cabin...far away place. He really is using this story to sell his record. So many artist flee to far away secluded places in order to create. Its nothing unusual.
What ever the story...what this guy has created is stunning.
Exactly. I don't know what these idiots are all screaming about "tool." The guy's just a singer. Do you expect the interviewer to grill him like he's Tim Russert or something?
so them in Fargo a couple months back...one of the coolest shows I've seen in a long time!! Highly recommend checking them out if you have the opportunity.

Where is the performance of Skinny Love in the beginning from? Jesus Christ, I've never seen him so emotional. And that's saying something.
