Oxford IS a complete dump. The entire county rides on the back of its university. Hospitals abnormally kill children, secondary schools hold a celebration when only 50% of their year leaves with 5 A*-C GCSEs, the shopping mall cosists of one floor and about 10 shops, and the people are incredibly angry and full of selfish hatred...

On going to an open day at Cambridge, I actually heard another student say: 'I fail all my A-levels, then I'll go to Oxford. There it's only about passion for the subject -you don't have to be so good at it.' So Rowan Atkinson is another such romantic nincompoop?

@Luthinya Rowan Atkinson was a postgrad at Oxford, but was an undergrad at Newcastle I think. And however humourously it was intended, there's some degree of truth in that analysis of Oxford - admission is focused more on perceived potential than on exam results, so enthusiasm is a pretty major factor.
