People look at current affair programs on these issues and might shed a useless tear, but the Chasers use shock as a stimulus for action and change. A really pathetic reaction.
Why are people saying this is satire and therefore it's ok? The point of satire is to exaggerate or ridicule, through the use of humour, so as to expose people's stupidity or vices. I fail to see how these kids, or the foundation, have any vices which need to be exposed. Maybe it's humour for the sake of humour, but then why make it so brutal? The Mansion did a very similar sketch on the foundation, but they kept it tasteful. The Mansion did it properly, the Chaser just went too far...

It is the truth after all since many make a wish places do not grant the kids wishes and do actually think that way.
Some people out there are heartless enough to think that they should not bother trying to grant the kids wish because they will die soon anyway and that is how heartless/money hungry some people can be.

umm... they didn't make fun of the dying children they made fun of what they wished for. what they were trying to say out of that skit, was they weren't going to get there wish because of what they are asking for. @MrHeyfuckoff First of all, nice name, doesn't give the impression of a giant wanker right of the bat at all. Second of all, it's satire, and damn good satire at that. The only realise the sketch got as big an uproar as it did was because the Chaser's audience had branched out into people that were never meant to be watching the show. If this had been one of their earliest sketches, nobody would have cared, but the media had nothing better to do at the time than rag on the Chaser.
