@ketsunigeri Don't mistake his mono-tone-ness for bad acting. He has that quality but I think he still gets the character across and that characteristic even exemplifies his character.

@phix95 i am aware of his mono-tone-ness in the x-files..most of the time, i watch his reactions on given situations as i watch scully's, He is not convincing but then, it's a subjective matter. you find him a good actor, i don't. anyway, i like ( maybe, love ) Mulder's characterization in the x-files. I had a crush on him ( Mulder not Duchovny ) when i was younger. i still do until now.

@ketsunigeri Lol! He may appear that way sort of, but he's actually very dedicated and sensitive. He makes mistakes but he is so devoted to Scully and her health. He thought of killing himself when his beliefs "caused" her cancer. He's very witty and isn't afraid to say "fuck off", so to speak, to some a-hole that talks trash to him--and they usually deserve it. I think he'd do ANYTHING for ppl he loves.

@phix95 well, it make sense now! Those positive traits that you have mentioned were probably the reasons why we like Mulder! Haha! Though I don't think I like him less with his negative ones. It's just that, in real life, it's really hard to live with someone like him. I would have to constantly worry about that person.

There's only one way to go w/the third movie,,,,Mulder and Sculley decide that the only way Mulder can move on, is to find his sister. whether shes found as a child exactly the same as the day she was taken, ( my vote ) or as a adult is up to the creators. Of course Mulder must sacrifice himself for his sister...i.e. go in her place, against Sculley angonsied final scene.

But the purpose of the show is to approach an actor and create an image we can relate to as simple people, I would think the less attention they draw to Jim the better they're painting the picture. As lethargic as he may seem I think he's a very grounded person with a great sense of humour, he can sensibly take anything you throw at him but that's just my opinion. Check out his sit in on this series hosted by Dave Chappelle, he's led quite a life thus far

I personally feel that there has never been a better coupling of 2 fantastic actors on a television series then David Duchovny Gillian Anderson. They made movie magic totally believable .

She might have been but you can guess that a large part of hers would have been about The X-Files too and going on other interviews she was just sick of answering questions about her character and about how she played it.
