  • Lead guitar dude was struggling.

  • @1StarProductions .."lead guitar dude" is Gary Hunt. He actually is getting much better with each show. He is pretty new to the road. It is hard when its just you and Jay Farrar by yourselves (no band to hide your hikkups). We spoke after the show and he said he has played on and off with Jay around the studio but is not been on the stage much.

  • Does Jay Farrar hang around after his shows to mingle with fans? I have an Uncle Tupelo record that I would love for him to sign...

  • @themadcapper Not sure. We left right away after the show. I'm told he seldom performs Uncle Tupelo material, so it was a real treat.

  • @themadcapper I'm from st lou and son volt (new) stayed after to sign Melody of Riot, shook hands. I've loved his work for 15 yrs.

  • @themadcapper YES

  • @themadcapper ...you can often find him around the venue before or 20 minutes after a show. I frequently run into him at the show.

  • This song made the show for me as I had not heard Jay sing this since back in 1992 at the Lounge Ax in Chicago. My favorite Uncle Tupelo song. Awesome show!! Barry is a fantastic musician who complimented Jay well.

  • @Rauoul - I agree about Barry....until the end of the song where he loses it a bit, hits a few bum notes and kind of take the shine off it a bit. Shame, as the rest of it is great. Wouldn't catch Nels Cline making those kind of mistakes! :-)

  • Jay Farrar is too awesome to handle. What a beautiful version of "Still Be Around."
