  • I miss my baby Zazu.

  • I went out with my baby on my shoulder and he flew off despite having had his wings clipped. he was only a baby so luckily he didn't go far but was gone for two nights which I spent worrying about him. On the 3rd day he flew to a family in the beer garden of the local village pub. he's now 11 months old and harness trained so he never goes past the door without that on.

  • we have an international website for helping find lost and found parrots: parrotalert . com

  • I saw that "birdtrick" website and right away I thought it looked very fishy. They seem like pro's on their youtube page but on the official site it had 'scam' written all over it.

  • Im so sorry for your loss , It has struck a cord in my heart.. I Hope God has kept Tui safe . Bless you and Your Family, I couldnt imagine losing any of my Feathered or Furry Baby's. Love Simba && Friends in Canada Keep Strong : Godbless.

  • I am really sorry tht tui flew away and i hope that all those who wrote those stupid comments stop and have a little respect u guys arent funny at all im sorry for tui and i know that all parrot woud want u as a dad

  • I meant then ate it hehaheheahehehehehehe

  • Jk I ran it over with my car a few times the ate it hehe

  • @TheBGCOOL1 Get the fuck out.

  • @depdesu You are a cruel, pathetic person for posting this comment on a video like this. Parrots are very intelligent animals, probably smarter than you if you say things like this. Go to hell.

  • I'm very sorry for your loss. This video broke my heart. :( I hope Tui is okay, wherever she is. You're a good person, and a wonderful pet owner. I'm sure Tui misses you, as much as you miss her. God bless you and Tui.

  • I FILL YOUR PAN BUT I GOT MY SNICKERS BACK IT WAS NOT EZEY SNICKERS WAS IN TREES ONE HOLE DAY AND ONE HOLERAINYNIGHT AND HAFDAY I SCAREMD SNICKERS!!!! • I lost my bird too and i cant stop crying for days.. An aftican grey too. Got lost on christmas rve. I believe somebody got him coz i cant hear him around the area anymore

  • this video just kills me. it made me cry also

  • I'm so sorry.Never lose hope. You're such a good man. I'm from Bulgaria and a lost my african grey too. The "problem" was the same - I thrust him too much. He was on my arm a little bit outside of the cage in the garden of my summer house, which is located in a giant forest. For less than a second he flew away so fast. I run after him but then I lost the bird.I'm a big strong man, but I cried like a little kid. I bought a new one parrot and 5 days after the escape my old bird came back.I've 2 now

  • Somebody has Tui, I believe. That someone should at least have told you Tui was safe. I can't believe anybody could be so cruel as not to just let you know he was OK. The loss of your pet can feel as devastating as a human loss sometime. Please let all of us who care know how you are. We really care.

  • @bibe318 i really hope somebody does have her but they may not know who she is thought. hopefully she is safe though

  • I am sick for your loss. Sick. I wish I'd been able to talk to you before you did this. Tui loved you and birds don't want to be lost. But nature lifts them even when their wings are clipped. I caught my daughter's cockatiel clinging to the eave of her barn. I'm sure her former owner was sick at her loss too as she is a great bird. My grey goes out with us only on a tether and he's clipped. I'm so so sorry for your tragedy.

  • Watching your videos has always been of great enjoyment to me. I have a ducorps cockatoo and even though he does not say alot he understands me. One evening he got spooked and flew out a glass door overs the neighbours garden and out onto the main road. I never ran and shouted as loud in my whole life I was literally terrified that I was going to find him in a dogs mouth or run over. All I could see was red. Luckily he was terrified and clutching the grass verge at the side of the road. I know

  • sorry about your parrot i had a amazon that my dog killed i was really but i got a new parrot its a african grey like your its name is Fredreka its a girl she says hello little girl, alright alright bye bye bye bye,she is 5 we got her on craigslist about a month and a half ago she bit me but shes go to get use 2 us again sorry about your parrot

  • hasent anyone seen or found her yet, SOMEONE, anyone. Can I just say I'm sorry for your lossoof Tui, She was a testement to you and how well you trained, or should i say brought her up, She must have been like a child to you. I know how it feels to lose birds, I have had three birds as pets and when they die or fly away it's heart breaking.. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST AND DON'T GIVE IT UP!!!!! xxxx, from KATZ in England.

  • aw man this is so sad . im listening 2 every word u said & i hope my bird never has the oppertunity 2 ever fly away , i am gutted 4 u , belive me now i will do all i can 2 make sure i keep mi doors n windows shut. u opend my eyes as 2 wot can happen & 4 that i want 2 thank u .

  • bless your heart im so sorry for your loss

  • @depdesu fuck u. parrots r not stupid. GET A LIFE U ASZHOLE.

  • I am so very sorry for your great loss. My heart breaks for you. Have you heard anything? Did you end up back in New Zealand? The pain you must have in your soul. I said a prayer for you and your special Tui. Made me cry.

  • I'm sure Tui did not want to leave you! She just wasn't used to flying against the winds of the outdoors and didn't know her way home! You are not an idiot!

If you ever get a new parrot you should teach it your phone number first thing.. so if they ever get lost someone might be able to return it to you!

  • I believe everything in this world happens for a reason, maybe tui leaving was the best choice of her life, i understand not yours but think positive, you could be doing all this worrying about her, she could be surrounded by complete happiness and having the time of her life. Sometimea the hardest decision is the besg decision. I have a african grey and i will still take him out for free flight, that is with proper training. Free flight is the greatest if not the best of things. Keep your chin

  • Such a sad loss. Terribly sad lover story of a man and his beautiful pet bird. I was on the verge of tears while watching this video. Tui has made me want to get an african grey, and if I ever do, I hope she's just like yours ^_^ hang in there. I know its hard. Don't beat yourself up. No one could match the love you had for your bird. You only meant well and i'm sure it felt great for her to stretch her wings in the open. I hope to see more of your vids. I'll always be a diehard fan ^_^

  • unlucky m8. U must b heartbroken. Check out my channel for 100% working and fully tested REAL TRAINING.

Y don't u get another african grey or another bird?

  • I have to say, I am so greatly sorry for your loss. I myself am looking into buying a grey. The only issue is money. This grey is $1700, and then still toys and food. I have already gotten a free cage. I guess that you would say it is worth it. I saw your training videos and more, and you have a great relationship with your grey. Keep checking local shelters and human societys, put out ads, and pray. Someone may have her and be taking great care of the lost bird. Good luck.

  • I know it's been a few years, but still, my heart is broken for you. I just found your wonderful videos on how to teach your parrot to talk. They are so good and I've already learned so much! Thank you for that. I am a new parrot owner. Already I am deeply in love with my Quaker Parrot. Bella. I can only imagine how devastated you were to see your Tui fly away. I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for your courage in letting us know to be extra careful with our birds.

  • I am so sorry for your loss, I lost my african grey too, he flew away back in March. I feel your pain.....I hope no parrot owners goes through this... hang in there buddy, I hope someone is giving Tui the loves it deserves...

  • I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Tui. Did you ever try to find her by posting flyers/posters? I know it's been a long time, but perhaps somebody found Tui and was looking for the owner? I have 9 parrots and I cannot even imagine losing one of them. My heart goes out to you. You are not an idiot - you made a mistake. Did u move back to NZ or are you still in the States? Wish you the very best.

  • You can find comfort in the fact that she flew off in a populated area and is very likely ok. don't sweat it chum, or, at least don't sweat it too very much. She'll be ok. Who knows if you won't see her again one day anyway. It can happen. You did one of the best jobs training I have ever seen with a grey. We had a grey years back. Sold her when we lost the time to spend with him. Tui was one great parrot for sure - and she will never let anyone forget your voice that is certain !

  • This is heartbreaking. It wasn't stupidity that you lost your buddy. I am just so sorry that you did and hopefully she is ok

  • Yea, it's really painful when your bird flies away and never comes back. This happened to me with my parrot and I remember crying for quite some time. But, we did find the bird. Hopefully, your parrot was found and is in good hands.

  • I know it has been a few years now (posted in 2008, its now 2011) but thank you for sharing Tui with us. I recently bought an Timneh African Grey and stumbled upon your videos. Ive watched just about all of them. I am sorry for your past loss. I was considering free flight for when mine got older, but needless to say I changed my mind. While you were sad about your loss, your video has reached out to people and showed the consequences of free flight and not just the fun part. Thank you so much!

  • I can't even imagine the pain and loss.....sooooo very sorry. Your not an idiot....you Loved Tui very much and as you stated tried to give him the best of life.

  • this broke my heart

  • I am so sorry to read this. Thank you for posting such an important, albeit very painful message. As a new owner of an African Grey - I am so afraid of losing her. I can't imagine the pain you experienced with the loss of your Tui. Her videos still bring me much joy....Love to you.

  • Sryyy to hear but tui sounds like you wen tlking

  • Comment removed

  • You were very, very kind to post this. I hope you find another bird in New Zealand to love.

  • Heartbreaking. So,so sorry. X

  • Oh man if my bird flew away id jump out a window.....I'm so sorry buddy you seem like a great guy, you dont deserve this torment ='(

  • Darling just a suggestion. The number tag on her leg. Make a video of what those numbers are so if someone find her they can check her number to know its her.

  • Oh you poor dear. My heart goes out to you so much. I have an African Grey too. I would be devastated forever if something happen to him. More love hun!

  • am sorry for Tui Bro. :'(

  • hey dude i'm so sorry about tui :(

  • So sorry for ur loss.. I was recently thinking of the sa,e type of free flight training for our grey (Tiki) after watching this i am thinking twice.. My gf and i often watched your videos and thought Tui was so cute. We were both saddened by this. I hope you find comfort back at home in NZ..

  • My congo recently passed away. There is a big empty spot missing. We want another baby to fill that hole but can't afford another parrot. They are too much in our area.$1000 and up. Does anybody know of any breeders in California? Northern California

  • @408HONDAK20 There are many African Greys available for adoption from Mickaboo.org....perhaps you can consider adoption?

  • mine was a timneh and he flew off three months ago in march. i'm hoping they know how to take care of themselves. me and my mom took him to the park a few times and he would quack like a duck trying to imitate them.

  • It happens. I lost my Illiger Macaw three days ago. slipped over water while he was on my shoulder, he panicked. I always felt he were less stressed with his wings unclippped. When he flew away i chased after him until i almost crashed my car at a light. lost sight, posted updates, passed flyers. but the only thing i do remember were the cheerful squawks of him doing something he never could have before flying .I love my birds Just wish the best for him quite possible he is alve and well.

  • i am really sorry for your loss

  • well I am very Inspired by the Owner of Tui , I personally lost my African Grey 2 Days ago from Seizure Attacks and I had Tommy since he was a baby he was only 2 years old. I cried alot for my bird as he was part of my life my heart he was my everything. Looking at Tui , We can just pray he is healthy and he is in good hands in the real world. I pray that Tui is in good hands and everything will be alright. Please keep your head up and stay strong , I know how it feels brother.

  • I so sorry you lost her. We used to take our african grey outside. We thought it was safe since her wings were clipped. On day she caught a gust of wind and it carried her for several feet. My da ran after her and got her. After that we didn't take her outside again.

  • I'm sorry about your bird sir. I don't know what I would do if my gray weezer was lost. Good luck to you sir. I hope your bird was found by good people.

  • I own 2 Illigers un clipped whom have walked around the block numerous times. One day a big rig parked along side me. when the air breaks sounded Kusi panicked, flew off. I chased after him like crazy he flew in circles of about 100 feet landed in a front yard it slapped the stupid out of me big time. Accidents do happen. Dont recommend free flight but to better the odds of returns use an open desert no trees, cars, pigeon flocks, hawks, dont go alone, prepare to drive if it lands far, binoculars.

  • Bless your heart. I cried. Looks like you two had a lot of fun together. I wish every animal had an owner like you. God bless you.

  • @BrownEyedBeauty2008 well put <3

  • I'm sorry for your loss. =( She tried to come back, but winds involved makes it difficult. The same thing happened to my sister's bird, it got blown away. Tui touched a lot of people here and your bond and love for one another touched all of us too.

  • Dude, on 17th May, I lost my african grey parrot too...I cried the whole night thinking about it...I saw it flew away with my own eyes...I wasn't ready to say goodbye yet...I just kept her for two years and for me two years is too little...=(

  • my son takes our green cheek conure outside on his shoulder when he takes the trash out. his wings are clipped but he could land in the street if he did fly off. it makes me very nervous. i will show him your video. my heart breaks for you an tui to be apart but i'm sure someone found her and she's just fine. you are a good man...tui is just fine and dandy.

  • i honor you ,, thank you for sharing, i see the love you had for tui,,,,i pray your video will get to peoples heads,,,,,and past their "ego" ,, by watching videos you ried to do what was best for her, exercise,, those damn videos can be so mis leading,, take care of yourself........ be at peace...........you're a good man..

  • I'm very sorry about you and your bird.

But yes, it seems you were too hasty if you let her fly outside after only a week of training. I'm not saying this to bash you at all, I'm just saying that with proper training (at least a year or two of recall training in large indoor quarters), it would be safer for a bird to free fly. But I wouldn't dare to do it with anything else than a large cockatoo or macaw, especially not a "skittish" bird like a grey. (Or my Meyers, far too risky.)

  • I'm sorry! :(

  • :( don't blame yurself atleast she tried to get bak to u tht shows how much care u provided for it. This made me cry so much cuz my bird flew away O_O long time ago but i bought another bird tht looked like her so i took extra extra care of it :3 dnt blame yrself plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • oooh buddy~you just really made me cry. =[ I have a little cockatiel and couldn't imagine going through what you did. Please don't blame yourself. You made a mistake. I think that one day, you should get another parrot and just be extra careful. Obviously it would never replace Tui..but I think you deserve another chance as a parrot daddy.

You are very wise for posting this video~hopefully it has informed other people to not make this mistake.

  • Soooooooooooo sad to see you you lost your wonderful Tui... :( Hope you'll find another beautiful and kind friend ;)

  • :( so sorry, even I miss her

  • I am happy u had the bird and spent good times together. I guess u are or on your way to Newzeland .They have lots of parrots there and hopefully one special one will help you through this loss........good luck

  • I am sooo sorry for your loss! :(

  • Aww man, i'm so sorry about Tui :'(

  • one thing that i learned was to NEVER trust bird website of tricks especially birdtricks. i feel so sorry if you!!hope you''ll see her again for at least one last time.and hey maybe shes waiting for somewhere up there!! :)

  • I am so sorry about Tui! I don't know what you are going through but I would like to thank you for making the hard decision of making this video so the one's that have out parrots don't go through that. If I ever find Tui I'll sure let you know and make you come back and get him/her ;D I hope he/she's ok

  • Although I never did free flight outside and thought as you did about trust and thinking my bird would never fly off or get out like other people's have done. Mine did just like yours and I miss him as you do to your Tui. I just want to say to all the bird owners out there to please clip your bird's wings and don't think something like this will never happen to you. I lost my Kichan on 2 Jan 2011 to my stupidity. So please don't be stupid and do the right thing for your best friend !!!

  • I'm so sorry. I hope whoever found her sees this and contacted you.

  • I'm so sorry about your bird. We were talking about free-flighting on our parrot forum and someone mentioned you and your bird. I'm so sorry, I can't imagine what life would be like without my birds. Thank you for posting this as I can't imagine how difficult it would be. I can't lie, I teared up. BIG HUGS!

  • ur voice sounds different

  • Part of me just died...

  • I'm so sorry for your loss, Tui is an amazing bird and I can only hope, that somehow you find your way back to each other. Your video's are an absolute inspiration for soon to be parrot owners like myself. I've been patiently waiting for the day that I can bring my own companion Grey home. However, I'm in school and must wait until I am more established financially. Thank you so much for sharing your video's. It has been a pleasure to watch.

  • You are NOT an idiot. You seem like a very nice and caring person. You made a mistake that any one could have considering the intelligence of that bird. It is understandable that you would think she wouldn't fly off, as she was almost human. I am SO very sorry. You are going to New Zealand...perhaps there is a reason you need to be there, that you don't even know yet, but Tui ironically gave you that opportunity...as sad as her loss may be. You really seem like a cool guy. Hang in there.

  • @learnsports ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY IDIOTIC !!!!! - FIVE STAR IDIOCY!!!!! I have done things just as idiotic, much more idiotic I must say. Yet it does the man no good to patronize him. To take a parrot - any parrot, out of doors unsecured is to lose the parrot. It is like putting your hand in a fire - you will get burned. An unsecured parrot will fly away. An 8 year old boy knows this - in fact it is intuitive and not logical. Flying bird - entirely flighted, outside, wind, etc. Yes sir. dumb!

  • Don't worry i know how it feels, I've had a cockatiel and i took him outside thought that he won't fly away and he did and it is extremely heartbreaking when you loose your parrot. Don't worry while time passes you will feel better.

  • I hate to see that you lost your friend. I hope you get her back!!!

  • Everyone that knows Tui's vocalizations, please look up on here "amazing parrot english accent" and there is another person that posts on here, that has a bird named "kiwi" that I think is actually Tui!!! She growls and says "are you work"...what do you think?!

  • @8945eclipse i really think your on to something i watched those videos the birds looks old enough and he says he lost her may 2008 this kiwi was posted on feb 2009....???

  • I actually cried with you, it breaks my heart to see this.. I just hope that Tui was found by someone and is taken care of lovingly..

(Oh my God, I just read the comments of 8945eclipse below, you should REALY thake a look at that!)

  • And she says "tui!!!!" Please take a minute to go thru that posters videos!!!! I wish I could send u a direct email! eclipse8945@yahoo is my address... Please let me know what you think!!!! ;o)

  • Look up "kiwi amazing parrot english accent" and I swear its her!!!

  • I posted on the doing dishes video, I swear another youtube poster has TUI!!! Their bird growls like she did w you, and says in your voice "are you going to work"!!!! Please take a look!!!

  • mate good job on the bird very sad to here what happen i just joined youtube to say that ... i just bought a princess parrot very cool trying to teach it how to talk hes an awesome little fella hope he picks up tlkin soon .... and hopefully you will post up more videos when and if you get a new parrot awesome videos you have and good help on teaching me to teach my bird lol

  • I'm really sorry :/

  • my African Grey's wings were clipped.

  • she probably with another family making them laugh by telling them to "shut up" and "sshhhh" (with the hand gesture). Really am sorry for your loss bud.

  • so so sorry to hear this, your an amazing trainer and compainion :(

  • so so sorry to hear this, your an amazing trainer and compainion :(

  • I am very sorry for your loss. We could all tell you adored Tui and I am sure she enjoyed your life with you tremendously. Mistakes and accidents happen every day, and it's not your stupidity in any way. You did not know that could happen. I hope you're doing great in New Zealand, lots of hugs from a fellow bird lover.

  • i am so sorry for your loss. Tui will always love you :(

  • I hope Tui returns

  • I found your page on a random search of "parrot training". I was touched by your command, gentleness, and love of your bird. I was also amazed to hear that you did not go home because home wouldn't allow your friend. It's sad that the two of you were separated. And in a way, it's good that you get to go home. Life's lessons are born from tears of love and rivers of sorrow...but what a wonderful shining moment you two were.

    B

  • I am so sorry to hear that Tui has gone missing. I really hope you find her. Its such a shame. You can really tell when someone has spent a lot of time with a parrot. It because of a bond you can see. Tui is a very talented parrot thanks to you. I really hope you find her some day. I really sorry to hear that Tui is misssing. You must of spent loads of time with her teaching her alll the words and phrases. I think you have really made an effort. I hope she returns one day.

  • I am very sorry. It is heartbreaking to lose a feathered friend. I know people who have decided to risk giving their parrot the luxury of flying outside. It was brave of you to try to give Tui this chance, even though it went wrong. Don't blame yourself. And you may have saved some people, who also have a a well trained bird, from making the same mistake. I hope Tui has made lots of friends out there in the big world.

  • im very sorry, i lost my bird too his name was mummble a little green checked conure flew away from me i cried for a month but i had talked to a lady that told me that they can and will survive she has alot of birds flying around her home and there are big and small but they find trees that have seeds and fruits on them so believe me i bet she's flying high and Gods with her and will never forget her great owner God bless you

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I realize that it has been over 2 years since you lost your beloved companion and I hope that the passage of time has softened the blow. There is really nothing that I can say that will make it easier, but I feel great empathy for you. I have watched many of your videos and I feel that Tui truly loved you, and I know that you loved her. Best wishes and God bless.

  • Saddens me greatly my friend. Best of luck to you.

  • I hope you find your bird.. I know how you feel. I have five parakeets which I love like children.. This video has inspired, but has made me feel so bad for you.. I hope she stays safe. :(

    Good luck!

  • This is really heartbreaking. To see a grown man blaming himself for everyone to see on the net. You are so very brave. I am so sorry.

  • hoonestly im so sorry for what happened to tui and I hope someday you somehow get reunited

we have a grey who we have had for 2 days now and i cant imagine how horrible it must have been to have to watch her get blown away

i probably wont hear much but if i do i'll let you know straight away :)

  • Oh, I have a timneh grey for a year. I can't say I know how feel. Thanks for holding up and sharing your experiences so others may learn to (including me). May Tui still be happy and find you in the future.

  • Sooo sorry to hear of your loss. Just found your Tui videos today. You and Tui were an incredible team. Please don't blame yourself. God Bless.

  • I just found this amazing bird (and owner) today and I've watched all your videos.. This last one was a shocker! I am so sorry for your pain. I'm not a bird owner but it seems as though you both were very blessed to have each other. I really hope that she's found soon!

  • im so sorry.... i too have had birds fly off.... but we captured them within a few hours.... we dont ever make those mistakes again..... home of 2 cockatoos, 2 amazons, 2 greys, and a sun conure.... i hope tui is alive and happy with someone...

and yes... birds get on a "high" when they feel the rush of the open sky... i have seen it quite a few times.... dont ever trust your beloved pet parrot fully flighted....

    sharon

  • @AquaAfghans You can trust your pet parrots. It sounds like you never properly trained your parrots to fly outside (they must learn how to control their flight in wind currents) Just letting them outside unprepared is a recipe for disaster, and the most common mistake newbies make. As pet parrots are raised in captivity, they do not have much experience flying so they must be taught at a young age. If they really love you, they do not abandon you. They are flock animals.

  • @Tiennumidori BULLSHIT . They get spooked and instict for survival kicks in - much stronger than any love they may have for you. They will fly away from what scared them for as long as they have breath, and you'll never see them again. I speak from experience. So, as Sharon says, never trust a flighted bird, however "trained" you think he is.

  • im so sorry.... i too have had birds fly off.... but we captured them within a few hours.... we dont ever make those mistakes again..... home of 2 cockatoos, 2 amazons, 2 greys, and a sun conure.... i hope tui is alive and happy with someone...

  • I wish i saw this video 2 months ago before i lost my lovebird,(watch?v=DWFFxxbJ2W0),i felt so stupid at the time, but after talking to lots of other bird owners,it seems like a right of passage,to lose a bird.I used to spend 90% of the day with that bird,i felt like i lost a familly member when he went,i spent weeks, and cycled miles looking for him.2 months later i still cry if i watch a video of him.I hope you have got a new pet that gives you as much love as Tui did, chin up m8.

  • I hope she'll come back, she is pretty intelligent so surely someone who finds her will try his or her best to bring her back! If I found a parrot like this, I'd know how much effort the owner put into her and thus try my best! And please cheer up a bit. I feel really sorry...

  • please tell me did you ever get TUI back?? Also did you ever wanted to get another parrot to help cope with your lose?

  • I just found your channel today. Your videos are wonderful and a joy to watch. I am so terribly sorry for what happened. I want you to know that all the footage you've shared is appreciated. and like you said, perhaps this unfortunate accident will prevent something like this from happening to others.. Best wishes to you.

  • I'm sorry for your loss. It seems Tui could not fly very well so he could not control himself in the wind. Let this be a warning to freeflying enthusiasts: your bird must be trained to fly first and be accommodated to the outdoors without being spooked by a moving car for example. Harnesses should be used for first timers to ensure safety and socialization in the outdoors, plus let them practice flying so they know how to fly in gusts of wind. They also need training in how to spot hawks and etc

  • @Tiennumidori true words of wisdom. this is the heart of the matter. 2 million dogs and cats are lost EACH YEAR--it's not just birds. you don't take a puppy outside without a leash. and you TRAIN dogs to come if they get excited and start to take off after something or get spooked. no difference with birds -- TRAINING is the key--clipped or flighted. tons of clipped birds get lost each day, and lost for good. those need training on how to climb down when called. training is the answer.

  • I always come back to watch this vid now and again. I miss Tui. I really hope someone else found her instead of thinking of the worse. I have a 3 years old African grey parrot which I have posted up and I can't imagine losing him. I have had a close call though when a family member left the back door open but luckily that day I decided to hang up a bouncy rope by the door so he flew and landed on the rope instead of out the door. It almost gave me a heart attack.

  • You need to edit ALL of your videos in the header section where you describe your video with the last EXACT location she went missing, even if it is 2 years later.

Finding a parrot sitting on your doorstep would be a memorable experience and not likely to be forgotten. So many people watch these videos that there is a chance that if she was found by someone they would know she was yours if you could just post the exact location.

  • @joefirstclass I made a tribute and put a lot of time in it please view for the sake of Tui and Pleeeeease get the word out

  • I know how you feel. We had a cockatiel. From when I was five till dec. 1 2008. She was being loud and my father put her on the deck. It was in snow storm too. Also her birthday was on the fourth of july. I'm very sorry for your loss.

  • I hadn't searched your videos of Tui for a while as I have been ill. I just saw this video and cried my eyes out. I do pray that if someone found Tui, although I will despise them for not returning her to her rightful owner, I would hope and pray they are treating her well. You were and I'm sure still are, an amazing amazing, CARING person, and that was shown through your videos of Tui, which I have so enjoyed for so long. I do hope you are doing well my friend. All my best. You are a true gem.

  • @pretyfunee I made a tribut for her and worked extremely hard. It only has 300 views out of 300,000 for her fans Pleeeeaase get the word out kskiwi ignored me

  • i'm sure tui is just as woriied about you

  • @guitarandsinger Greys are highly intelligent and are like children

Would you say "LOL just have another one" to someone who lost their child?

  • @Dipukas1 No Dipukas1, I don't think you're a jerk...

    ...I think you're a cunt

  • So sorry for your loss, Tui was one of the Best talkers ive seen, Very good at interacting with you etc..

I just had my African Grey outside today for the first time, He was pretty scared and confused, But i dont think il take him back out, after seeing this, Just make him think there is nothing out that window!.

Hope Tui is in Safe hands !

  • She seemed very intelligent. Your videos remind me of the bond between dolphins and their trainers, except that you can't keep a dolphin as a companion.

  • __continued story___ as the day went on I was walking through the forest with despair looking for my warm green friend. The day was soon ending, yet I never quit. There was loud sounds from a house near bye. As I was going home in tears I heard his beatiful voice, saying his name numa. I ran into the wilderness, but I could not find out where he was. I then told my neighbor to ride his lawn mower around and with luck I found of his location. when I found him, he was in shock and cuddled near me.

  • I want to tell you all a story of Miracle. It all started with an essence like this. I felt my Alexandrine parrot would want some warm sunshine for him to bask in outside. As I went outside with him, things were fine. He cuddled against my cheek =]. Then, a panic reaction came because My dog startled him. He flew very far to the woods. I was in tears, as I was running after him. The whole day I was plundering through the thick brush screaming his name, setting some food out that he enjoyed.

  • Tui was lost the day after my birthday, I feel extreamly saddend by your loss of such a remarkable and beautiful little bird such as yours. I have watched every single one of your videos as I have been preparing myself to buy my own Grey next year and want to get as much knowledge in as possible and you and Tui have really inspired alot of people and especially with the short parrot DO's and DONT's of training and building confidence. You and Tui are truely Inspirational, thankyou. xxx

  • During our last loss of the bird, I had someone call and tell me a story of them getting their bird back after a YEAR, so there still is hope. In any event, thanks for posting all these enjoyable videos of Tui. Our grey loves to watch, and laughs at Tui's antics. Good luck to you, mate, and thanks again

  • night, calling Apollo's name and whistling, which I am certain you did. In each case, by luck, a neighbor called with the bird. Once, a neighbor called saying that he saw the bird fling, being chased by black birds. In any even, by the grace of God and persistence, we got him back. My point is that you should not give up entirely. I recognize that you are probably back in New Zeland now, but perhaps you have some friends in the area you used to live in who would be willing to help.

  • Very sorry to hear about the loss of your African Grey, Tui. My wife and I have had our African Grey for 17 years. In that time, for various reasons, Apollo has taken to free flight 3 times. Each time was an accident, in which there was an element of surprise and panic which caused Apollo to take flight. In each case, we combed the neighborhood posting signs showing a picture of Apollo and bold lettering LOST BIRD, with our phone number. Of course, we also walked the streets morning noon and nig

  • Which fuktards pressed dislike ?

  • Thanks for sharing buddy, just lost mine the other day, flew out a tiny window - spooked by a MOTH!!! Still looking and leafleting. Hope NZ laws have changed and you got yourself another CAG! Mxx

  • Dude, Dont blame it on yourself, you wanted to make her life better, and the fact that you stayed in a different country for her shows how much you care.

im sure tui's doing fine, hopefully under a dry roof, with another owner. but im sure she'l never forget you.

and im sure youl never forget her.

    best wishes<3

  • She lived a good life and you treated her so well.

You gave up your life in NZ to have your baby girl.

She knows she lived a good life.

    And you know it too.

    I'm sorry for your loss.

  • hope you are well ? every time i turn my computer on i have to stop by and watch all the beautiful videos of tui but i always try to avoid this last one just because it makes me cry , i will like to say that animals or birds never forget the ones they loved and i really believe that ,remember you will always be in her mind and heart always always , you are such a great man , i so hope she is safe x

  • Hi there, i know it's been a couple years since you lost Tui but i just wanted to say that you can see in these videos how she loved you...they don't understand outside and they get spooked. I actually lost my bird yesterday and searched for hours in the rain crying my eyes out. it was a cockatiel and very hard to see out there once she flew off..i was watching Tui's video's to cheer me up and came across this one. I had no idea about this. I'm so so sorry i know how bad that hurts.

  • i cried when i watched this...have you heard anything from her??

  • My friend, you are the top-notch Grey owner I have looked up to. I have followed your Youtube stuff from day one. I am not you average Yank at all. You made a misdecision... my brother did the same misdecision with his quaker. My friend, honestly I think of you everyday. I have a 6 year-old grey and I honestly just can't imagine how hard it is for you. I hope somehow Tui found a way to survive.

  • @Rahbilio Thanks for your thoughts

  • @kskiwi TRIBUTE MADE!

  • @Rahbilio TRIBUTE MADE! Video Response Below

  • This has NOTHING to do with bad training. It has to do with an animal being an animal. No matter how bonded people think their parrot might be, there is NO guarantee that their parrot will decide to come back 100% of the time or that they won't be taken out by a bird of prey or a huge gust of wind, or one of the many other things that can and probably will happen sooner or later.

  • tha sucks that your grey flew away... i let my bird fly around my front yard yesterday and he came back.. I think that birds are too attatched to fly away

  • OMG I have just discovered your videos and then saw the last one. I know this happened a couple of years ago and I hope you feel a little better now. Hope Tui is doing well somewhere she is great.

  • oh you have just made me cry !!!!!! she was so lovely ! i felt like i knew her and is upsetting me so much that she has gone , you must miss her so much , i feel your pain and i hope she is alive and safe somewhere , please let us know if any news ???????????????????

  • We were writing about the importancy of cutting wings and about people who prefere to use a harness and at this very momen we found also this vid. Thank you for sharing because it sure can help other people and birds. We feel very sorry for you you lost your bird and wish you all the best. It is a big sadness. But thank you for posting this on you tube to help others. And greetings from Holland, Geer and Greetje and Manus de papegaai.

  • @jertom63 So are you saying clip-yes and harness-no? Or you say either way is fine?

  • @CatGameDaiyE Hallo, we don"t make a choise, we think everyone has to think about what fits the best with the bird as he or she is and with the caracter of the person who lives with the bird. We think nobody can give advice wich would be the best because every bird has his own personallity and a person who keeps a bird of course also. We wished we could give the best solutions, some are better of without harness...some not. Some clip? yes. Important to always watch body language.Thank you.

    .

  • @jertom63 free-flight is still a good thing for birds... not for every owner though.

you do have to go through months and months of training before they are completely competent...

the best way to have a bird outside is to start training before its even weaned, go to kippthekidd's channel, before his bird died (from completely unrelated causes) he would let it outside unsupervised, but he had trained it from an unweaned chick, and he said himself he would never buy an unweaned bird.

  • it really broke my heart as i only discovered Tui's vids today & seeing how dedicated you were to her so i imagine how you felt/feel losing her. i hope you found her & she's happy and well! i'm becoming attached a 6 month old called Angus where i work. all i wanted to do while watching this video today was cry. please know that you weren't to blame. it was a selfless act on your part letting Tui have the freedom to fly around knowing it was in her best interest. good luck Andrew, you deserve it
