I use Maguiar's Inside Detailing solution on the inside.. works miracles AND cleans your windows better than anything i have used in a long time.. Just remember to use a Micro-Fiber Towel.

I would think it makes more sense to start on the inside of the vehicle and then work your way out, so as not to drag dust back into the car with you, but then again, I slow myself down worrying about too many of these sorts of details. I've had the same problem with oily film on the windshield, and I, like you never smoke in my car. What works for me is Glass-Plus wipes. I then, wipe them down with a fresh microfiber cloth. Not Windex wipes! They are truly worthless. Glass-Plus wipes is the only thing that ever works for me. Hard to find now, so I buy off of Ebay.

I have a 2000 Dakota and have stupid little problem with cleaning the interior of my windshield. I have cleaned many interior car windshields and have used many products to do the job, but this has me stumped. the interior windshield seems to get an oily/grease film on it that only seem to smear around . I have used windex, invisible glass, alcohol, microfiber, terrycloth, paper towels, newsprint, foam scratch pads. I don't smoke so this film is not from that.

Looking for suggestions.

i work in a detail shop too and we dont use any paint brushes for anything, we just spray with the detailers dream stuff for the dash and wipe it with a microfiber towel and used compressed air to get the chemical that runs into the gauges and spaces. this guy was an idiot too, you start at the inside and work your way out so your not reaching over what is already clean, he must wash them from bottom to top, instead of top to bottom. ha ha ha

this guy is so full of shit. i work in a detail shop and the crap hes feeding out.gauge faces will not scrath from the brush.and we spray chemical over evey thing and have never had problems.

I to work in a detail shop and yes we also spray vinylx all over the dash and guages, however his way that he demonstrates wastes much less product and is more controlled. So the brush may not scratch the guages, but what if it does? and the customer notices? you have to then explain what happened and they might want their money back, better to take your time and be safe.
