Does anyone remember who interviewed KISS on National TV around 1978-1979? It was Charles Kuralt or someone like that. 60 Minutes or 20/20? It wasn't Tom Snyder or Mike Douglas, that I'm referring to.
In This Clip, From 4:34 To 5:25, It Was WABC-TV's Channel 7 Eyewitness News At 11's Entertainment News' Report On Kiss On Friday Night, July 25, 1980.
In This Clip, From 1:40 To 4:28, It Was WCBS-TV's Channel 2 News' The 11 O'Clock Update's Entertainment News' Kramer At Large Report On Kiss On Wednesday Night, July 25, 1979.
In This Clip, From 0:00 To 1:39, It Was WABC-TV's Channel 7 Eyewitness News At 11's Entertainment News Report On Kiss On Tuesday Night, July 24, 1979.
@Dehoyos79 no shit theres footage it's not a rare concert there's better quality versions here on you tube and there's an extremely good one on Kissology vol 2 1978-1991
This is a great memory for me! Do have the complete Anna Bond interviews that played at 11P.M. and 6 P.M. ? Because my twin brother was interviewed and appear on the 6 P.M. interview with Anna Bond! I would to get a copy of it. I went to 9/1/80 show at Nassau Coliseum and none the effects (nothing ) worked, But you know what , I was part of and will be in KISS HISTORY Forever!
"...close your eyes and listen to the music, you might not hear anything special..." (rolls eyes) Right... that's why they've only sold FIFTY MILLION albums. LOL
great stuff man! thanks and keep 'em coming!i recently heard of a european version of the reason to live video that's supposed to be uncensored,do you know anything about that?
Man that is amazing seeing that bit from the Palladium show. I sure wish that show would surface someday as a bootleg or official release. It is special in that it was the only time the Unmasked songs were played in the states.
Great job posting this. I've collected bootleg videos and all sorts of KISS memorabilia for years and even I have never seen this before. July 25, 1979 my first KISS concert, and since then only 38 more times. :-)
I saw the Dynasty tour, which was my first time seeing them. It was June 1979 at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, South Carolina. Whiteface opened. Despite this report, problems manifested themselves on this tour (see Beth 1979). The Palladium show in New York was the only Unmasked show in the US. There was no Elder tour. They really didn't hit their stride again until Lick It Up. And even then, the lead guitar position wasn't stable.
Thanks for sharing those nuggets with us. Eric Carr first show and some cool comments from the commentator - Elvis, Beatles, Rolling Stones, now Kiss. They're in good company. 1979 - it's only the beginning. Turns out it was true.
I was there ;)

Sad how you can tell that Peter didn't give a shit anymore at that time..."I have nothing to say"...at least he was being truthful.

and 2 yrs after this interview, KISS went from lavish parties with hundreds in attendance and fine wine to fruit punch at bowling nights
