One of my favourite albums of the period...nearly wore it out. Very heavy for a keyboard band...Graham Fields had such a beautiful melodic sense. This, combined with the heaviness, created a unique sound.
Paul Karas appeared after the 1972 line-up change, on "Epic Forest", a good album, but without any CrossoverProg driven organ flavour, wich I think that it is the distinctive mark of this great band.
Begining with "Epic Forest", Rare Bird begun to sing a boring HardRock and after other cuple of years thay broke up.
John Wetton was guest musician on 1973 "Somebody Is Watching", the album where for Rare Bird plays 13 different musicians. But the album is weak... Pity of it!

I bought "As Your Mind Flies By" after I had heard "Hammerhead" on Denver radio. As a young teenager, I loved that album!

Steve Gould, the best voice out of the UK along with his peers Steve Winwood and Paul Rodgers. Fame and media hype isn't everything.
Five stars on this clip. Thanks for posting.
