Josephine is such a beautiful addition to that Gothic Folksong tradition, taking its place with Marijohn Wilkin's "Long Black Veil" and Gillian Welch's "Caleb Meyer" but with a sweeter tone, akin to the romantic, folk, ghost story "Cold as Clay" as collected by Alvin Schwartz. Beautiful!
I couldn't ask for a more intense or compelling experience than the one I enjoyed hearing Jenna perform this live. The video certainly does her and her wonderful song justice but don't pass up an opportunity to catch this amazing young woman in a live performance.
