@nokiddies An easier way is to just download the MobileTerminal app onto your device from Cydia. Just enter the commands there.

@FieZERO Analogy: If you don't have a laptop, then you don't need to change the password for it --> If you don't have SSH, then you don't need to change the password for it. You can't change the password of something you don't have. Only install OpenSSH if you need it. If you install OpenSSH, then it's best to change the password. Hopefully this helps!

Is you're wifi turned on? If so are you connected to a wifi network? Open the settings app and at the very op of the list click wifi. There, you will see a list of all the wifi networks clse to you. If you don't see any, or it doesn't let you connect, try going to a coffee place or somewhere where they have free wifi. If you've done these things, then you may want to update to the latest, 3.1.3 firmware. This might solve your problems.

It's easiest to just install rock on your device. When you open "rock," it should automatically ask you to enter your password.

Everyone's password is set to alpine. Make sure you have installed OpenSSH from cydia.

'ssh' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file

(on windows, seems the command line doesnt work)

You might need to type the command in "putty" (search google) for it to work

(type) root@(ip address)

(type in current password) alpine

(type)passwd

(type in new password)

(retype)

your done!

and terminal does work on 3.1.2 (just go back into it again if it crashes)

I just tried it on my pc and it doesn't work. I shoulda tried it before, but I thought it would work. You have to download a program that can run the mac commands. I'll find one, tell you and make an annotation.

I think i found a program that will work. It's called PuTTY. Just search for it on google; its the first one. I dont have my PC right now, bt if you try it and it works lemme know and i can give you a shoutout in the video if you want.
