If you have a Trader Joes, they sell a pack of sliced Cremini mushrooms. Not so much like dirt. I made a salad with Romaine, Apple, Cremini Mush, Avocado, Red Bell, Spinach .. and whatever else. Just throw in what you like. I did no add tomatoes just because I didn't have any. Very tasty and my coworkers were envious. Keep up the Good Fight!!!! Right On, Sister!!!!
Az for havacandoo,(avacadoo) what you doo is make very sure it is only just ripe enough for starters. If any bit is brown thats no good. It should be just able to be pressed with your fingers. Put it in the fridge, then use the WHOLE avacanoo between two slices of holerain bread (if its small) or make two(2) sand witches if its large. Don't put ANYTHING else on it. Believe me, yool soon ackwire the taste, and will be gutsing that almost every day before you know it! Theres nothing else like it!
The easiest way to do veganism is blender veganism. For me, its quick and easy. When I need to eat, I get the blender out.... put in a spoon of brewers yeast, a scoop pf soy protien, a carrot, a tomato, a bannana, an onion (small one), a spinach leaf and any other vegi or fruit I feel like adding... then a cup of water... then hit full speed for a good 3 minutes. Getting it down is a bit hard at first, but then you kind of get used to it, and get faster at skulling it down. Easy meal!
I love mushrooms raw as well....with the guacamole dip....cucmbers, tomatoes, celery, brocoli, cauliflower and turnip....very good eaten raw...just some ideas:)
Hi....I dont know much about the vegan diet but avacados are delicious....make guacamole....avacado, cilantro, hot peppers....very delicios dip for raw vegetables.....
For the alvocado's let me suggest just making guacamole. Two alvocado's and a pack of the spice stuff in the blender. Corn chips aren't great but, not all that bad either.
don't stop, as you can see there's a huge difference.. the outside is showing what the inside is enjoying. your organs, tissues, blood... everything is finding happiness. (i know that's dorky isn't it?)
Don't listen to what other people say, listen to yourself, and what makes you happy. I like the fact that you're so optimistic and are trying so many new things, that is so good. Going vegan is the best thing I've ever done too, almost 19 months! keep it up! peace.
About mushrooms: I have a good recipe that I like to make: wash the mushrooms, cut them into thin slices, and toss them in a little olive oil and lemon juice (and sea salt). I sometimes add crushed garlic too, when I am in the mood for it. For one cup of sliced mushrooms, you will need about 3 tablespoons olive oil and 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice - and about half a clove of garlic. Just cover and chill for at least 20 minutes before eating - Yum! :-)
@letincelle You wash your mushrooms? Like actually wash them? Or you just clean them off with a paper towel? Mushrooms have a high percentage of water in them, they don't get slimy on you after you wash them?

I've never been a fan of soymilk in general. But the regular soymilk in coffee is more than amazing.
And fish is full of mercury. >.>

@sweetxxdelilah You are right, I should not say "wash" because I don't soak them... I rinse them quickly and yes, I use water for that :-).

Wow, and you do look prettier already! Congrats, keep up the good work.
