You can believe God is a rabbit to but it's called making yourself a graven image and breaking the second of the ten commandments. This ministry isn't a church it's a ponzy scam. Repent and trust in the true God of the bible who isn't looking down smiling but is angry at the wicked every day.
I firmly believe Joel's message. I am Catholic but I am very awed and inspired by how this man gives out hope and encouragement to those who need it. Thank you Joel for being a an inspiration! God Bless you!
I firmly believe Joel's message. I am Catholic but I am very awed and inspired by how this man gives out hope and encouragement to those who need it. Thank you Joel for being a an inspiration! God Bless you!
And it doesn't help when we have preachers teaching us, okay you all are a bunch of sinners, and that makes us feel even more lower. I like what Joel is doing, saying, no, we are all great people, we all are divine creations of God, we just get stuck in ruts, but we can rise above it by connecting to God, and reaching for our highest potential. He gives people hope, he shows them a better way, not just puts them down, and that's why people go to him, the world NEEDS that kind of teaching now!
Absolutely. Many people go around teaching that we are "born sinners', we are wrong, we have to atone, and repent, or we won't be worthy of Gods grace. And it makes people feel low. We need a change in attitude. We need to start believing that we are good, and God created us worthy, and yes we make mistakes, we sin sometimes, we aren't perfect, but that's okay, God will still be there for us and love us and support us. Like any good parent would do. It's much more uplifting to think that way.
@JohnJancar Right, I guess cancer Doctors should take the same approach too. Sure you have cancer but let's not call it cancer. Let's say you were born healthy and your body is just not perfect. Of course 6 months later you would be dead but at least you wouldn't be bothered thinking those negative thoughts.
@darthfocus So you think we are born sinners then. That we are all just lowly imperfect humans, and we sin because it's our nature. Well why did God create such an imperfect race? I think there is a higher reality to that. I think we all, by our nature, are good loving people, we just get sucked into the dark side, and our world molds us to become sinful. Little babies are always loving and full of joy and happiness, unless they're in a negative situation. Same with the human race as a whole.
@JohnJancar Totally disagree. Babies throw tantrums when they don't get what they want. They are all about self. God made men good but when sin entered in the garden it tainted everything. Rom 5:12
Men are truly wicked and if we believe what bible says we are (as Joel makes everyone say all the time) then we have to face what we really are: Romans 3:10-20, We are evil to the core. We are such from birth and by the examples of others. Psalm 51:5 & Pro 22:25
@darthfocus Oh come on, babies are not inherently wicked. The human race itself is not inherently wicked, I am not inherently wicked. You can believe you are, but I'm not. And I would be wary of believing something just because it's in the Bible. I'm reading the Bible, from beginning to end, and I have only gotten up to Leviticus now, and I can already name you like a dozen things which God has done which have been "wicked". Clearly that's not the true God, the true God is found in your heart!
@JohnJancar The devil deceived Eve not to believe His word too. If you reject the bible then you are left with your own subjective views about the nature of man, morality and God. You now sit in the place of God and judge Him? Well then you have become "like God" which is what Satan told Eve in the garden. "The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?" Jer 17:9 - don't trust it. Pro 3:5
@darthfocus Because of the dark side manipulating human civilization, we have created a world where "sinning" almost is natural. But it isn't our inherent nature as human beings to be that way, we have been taught to be that way. Our ancestors created a society which has moved on to today, where sinning is encouraged. People just fall for it. Just look at the media and what plays on TV, and people watch that, and think that's how you be normal. It isn't normal, we are TAUGHT TO BEHAVE WRONGLY.
What kind of party does the person who is persecuted for their faith have in this life? Look at the believers in China, North Korea, iraq, Iran etc.. They get tortured, abused and die for their faith. Matthew 5:10-11. Matthew 5:17-20, 7:13-14,7:21-23, 10:16-25. Luke 9:23-27 Acts chapter 7. Acts 14:19-23. There is a cost to following Jesus. We don't always have our best life now.
@MsWolfpuppy he never said that "literally". so you 'd rather listen to a man who does not teach the bible. why dont you compare him to the scriptures.? compare his teaching to the bible teaching ?
LRon Hubbard once said, want to be rich? Become a politician or start a Church, & he did, Church of Scientology! 89% of Americans R Christian, spending yrs in church, majority still cannot quote a single verse from the Bible. They hum along to hundreds of songs recorded by artist, but Never Read or Study the word of God. They depend on TV preachers, to get them to Heaven, when actually the majority R no more than scam artist, singing a different tune leading them to slaughter.
O spiritually dead ones, the scriptures speak to you who fall at the feet of these abominations of deceit, “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil, pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” Proverbs 8:13 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears, And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Timothy 4:3-4
@Rylucero ::: Wow, 10 blurbs in a row. You are exercising your ego big time. Not everyone who does not agree with you is spiritually dead, as much as you like to hold that vision of them in your own mind.
O spiritually dead ones, stand before your altar of carnality, for it is the lot of the natural man who is an enemy of God, who is not submissive, nor meek, nor humble, nor patient, nor full of love, nor willing to submit to the father but only to the lusts of the flesh and the wisdom of men. You who seek fleshy wisdom for you are carnal, rebellious, disobedient and haughty. You who are helpless and lost regarding the things of God because you have placed your faith in the wisdom of men.
O spiritually dead ones, the scriptures speak to you who have chosen to venerate these despicable false prophets and false teachers, Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name, I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. Jeremiah 14:14
O spiritually dead ones , the scriptures speaks to you who are boastful, vile, and contemptuous, “The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. Isaiah 2:11, The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. Psalm 10:4, A man's pride shall bring him low, but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit. “Proverbs 29:23
O spiritually dead ones, the scriptures speak to you who despise what is just, who distort truth, and who give reverence to fools, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.” 2 Peter 2:1-2
O spiritually dead ones, the scriptures speak to fools who pay homage to these false prophets, and false teachers, it speaks to the profane, to the vile and to the wicked, “Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits Isaiah 30:10 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon.” Isaiah 30:12
O spiritually dead ones , the scriptures speak to you who is covetousness, who is arrogant, professing much, but knowing little, “And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 2 Peter 2:3 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.” Proverbs 21:24
O spiritually dead ones, the scriptures speak to you who is callous, to you who is heartless, to you who is arrogant and to you who is demanding, “For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth. I will break down your stubborn pride. Psalm 10:3 They close up their callous hearts, and their mouths speak with arrogance Psalm 17:10 Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous. Psalm 31:18
O spiritually dead ones, the scriptures speak to you who is wise in his own eyes, “The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. Psalms 94:111. Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. Proverbs 10:2 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. James 1:26 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.” Psalms 10:7
O spiritually dead ones, woe unto you who defend these false teachers and false prophets, you who hate knowledge, you who fear truth, you workers of iniquity who deny His word and in doing so deny His Father. “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21, “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” Matthew 7:23
This guy isnt doing this to help anyone, hes going it to make money... Wake up people, this guy is scamming you by selling you lies. gOD isnt real wake up. There is no proof of his existence, only proof of his absence. You should try comparing the event in the bible to what archeologist know. Try actually reading the bible, its the best way to make someone not believe.
@AthiestsOnTheMove ::: Trying to prove a negative is rather futile. There is much more reason to believe IN God than not believe in Him. The reality is, it just doesn't matter. The bible is full of contradiction and error, I find my info about God elsewhere. And Joel lying? No, it is good psychoiogy.. He is already rich from his book sales, he does not take a salary from the church.
My fault I was quoting what Lester love said thats not how I feel. I want the whole gospel. I want Christ wholeheartedly. I want my flesh 2 be denied. I want righteousness I have a homeboy who is christian who listens 2 joel osteen. I already told him joel osteen is anti-Christ. I pray for him everyday.
@ChasingJesus1 And what did you do today to deny your flesh? Diet? Eat worms? Self-flagelate?
If you think Joel is anti-Christ, then you have never listened to his program. He gives an invitation after every sermon. Sounds like you could use a good dose of open-ears, close mouth.
@k0smon Ima pray for you seriously but he's on the itching ear preacher list no sin no hell no were wicked which is part of the Word just feel good things he can do that without being a pastor thts whats a motivational speaker does. But it does say in the last days ppl will heap upon themselves teachers according to their own desires. 2 Tim 4 pastors have to make a decision preach the whole true gospel or not preach the gospel preach another way of salvation other than wht the Bible says.
@ChasingJesus1 Joel calls upon people to change their THINKING, and that is not necessarily a 'feel good' thing. That is a tough, but necessary, haul for some people.
My dad loves this guy. It's too bad he calls him a preacher. He said himself that he does not consider himself a preacher. Jesus said that whoever seeks to save their life(earthly) will lose it. And whoever seeks to lose their life in God's name will gain life everlasting(freedom from the second death). Because of the fall it is impossible to live your "BEST life NOW". God can CHOOSE to bless you in this life also, but it is our eternal life apart from this earthly one that we are to cherish.
@whiteclaudia9 If you have a 'fall', the idea is to get up and get going and not fall again. That is what Joel teaches. Living a good life is not as impossible as you think. God wants us to have both.
Great man of faith! My heroe, i wish everyone could be as faithful as him. He does preach about God in a way that is contagious to reach other people.
I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in My counsel, and had caused My people to hear My words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard His word? who hath marked His word, and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. The anger of the LORD shall not return, until He have executed, and till He have performed the thoughts of His heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
Jeremiah 23:16-22: Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. They say still unto them that despise Me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
The quotable false Prophet Joel Osteen on Larry King Live, King asks Joel, how about issues that the church has feelings about? Abortion? Same-sex marriages? Osteen responds, Yeah. You know what, Larry? I don't go there. King asks, you don't call them sinners? Osteen responds, I don't. King later asks, is that a word you don't use? Osteen responds back, I don't use it.. Although, Joel doesnt use it, the word "sin" appears in the King James Version of the Bible hundreds of times!
@Rylucero Last time I check sin was in all the bibles thats the Word. Plus were in the last days u have to preach the whole gospel. Just like lester love I dont want 2 preach about sin. Ppl dont want 2 hear the bad in them, Ill preach the good in them and maybe tht will help them overcome the bad.
@Chasing True prophets and teachers of God will seek God’s will without compromise, they will have no desire to conform to the expectations of people, nor will they seek worldly admiration or respect, but will be hated by this world. They will speak of wickedness and deceit and warn those who are perishing of this evil. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own, but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:19.
@ChasingJesus1 You lack understanding regarding the attributes of a true prophet of God. A true prophet speaks not only in God’s name but by His authority as well. They are vessels of His testimony, His word, and His purpose. They declare His gift of Salvation by faith to all men without compromise or deceit. They through their obedience and faith speak His word to all men as His witness and His prophet. True prophets walk after the LORD, they fear the LORD, and they keep His commandments.
@ChasingJesus1 While God is a God of Love and Truth, we are called to speak of His other attributes of Vengeance, Wrath, Judgment, and Anger. For someone not to acknowledge these attributes is to deny who God is, His Divine Character as well as His Nature. The truth of God is narrow, as is the number of those who truly accept His gift of salvation and are given eternal life. To deny a literal hell for the unbeliever and to not speak of sin is to deny the teaching of Christ.
@Rylucero You have a very low concept of your Creator, if you saddle Him with human frailties like vengeance, wrath, judgement and anger. He is perfect in all respects. If you say He has these negative attributes, does that mean it is OK for us to have them also?
@k0smon The divine qualities and holy characteristics of God do not embody frailty or imperfection, your concept of a perfect holy Creator is flawed for you have chosen to look at Him from a man’s perspective. What you choose not to accept is that God’s wrath and fury is consistent with his goodness, and that His divine perfection detests sin and unrighteousness. Scripture speaks to the attributes of God “there is no god with me, I kill, and I make alive, I wound, and I heal” Deuteronomy 32:39
@Rylucero I do not look at God from the human perspective as you do. After all, you assign to him qualities that you find in a human book, the bible. The consistency you exclaim is really inconsistency. Scripture lies about God, demeaning Him into the form of imperfect man.
@k0smon You lack understanding regarding the nature of God which is one of love and reverence. His very nature and essence is one of perfected love, which unlike men is divinely inspired and is holy in it’s divine character, it is a love that encompasses His innermost being and infuses all of His attributes, including His perfected wrath and His perfected anger. This being the very nature of God, He demonstrates His love, just as He demonstrates all of His attributes to His greater glory.
@Rylucero There is no such thing as 'perfect wrath'. It is a negative emotion, and by its very nature not a rational act. You are accusing God of being irrational.
@k0smon You lack understanding regarding the attributes of God, you choose to assign rationality and emotion to a being that is beyond our intellectual capacity to fully understand. There is divine wrath against every form of sin that cannot be ignored because God, being a just God must through His perfected wrath punish those who sin against Him. Regardless of what you may believe, there is perfected wrath, perfected hate, perfected anger as there is perfected forgiveness and perfected love.
@Rylucero You continue to claim the absurd. You may keep your convoluted, biblical understanding of God, I will understand God as absolute perfection.
@k0smon You lack understanding regarding His wrath which is a manifestation of his character as well as His righteousness. The wrath of God is consistent with His holy character which is one of love and is in accordance with His perfect will. Those who are stubbornly proud, rebellious, ungodly, and who detest Him are subject to His wrath. True wisdom regarding His attributes is impossible for the fool to attain for he lacks the understanding that is necessary for acceptance of this will
@Rylucero :: I certainly do not understand as you do. So you worship a cruel God, no doubt part of His "holy character' and 'perfection'. True wisdom is impossible for those who call black white, to call God cruel and perfect at the same time. Your God is diametrically opposed to himself, having inconsistent characteristics that are incredible to contemplate. You may keep that god, I will keep the real One.
@k0s You misspeak regarding the attributes of a holy God. It appears that your only desire is to appeal to your own moral sensibilities regarding His character as opposed to those characteristics that truly define Him. You state that the God I worship is cruel which is contrary to His character, His actions, His mercy, His patience and His motivation. You lack understanding, for you confuse just punishment for cruelty that is meted out to those who have chosen to bring calamity upon themselves.
@Rylucero You (and the bible) state that God has wrath, and the bible says wrath is cruel. I think we have here another internal contradiction in the bible that indicates to me that the bible is not the word of God. My 'moral sensibilities', and other sources of spiritual information tell me God is perfect, and without human imperfections such as wrath or hatred. There is justice in the afterlife, but it does not work as the bible describes it.
@k0smon You have misspoken once again and shown a complete lack of understanding regarding His divine attributes, the bible speaks to human cruelty, not to the cruelty of God. You speak of a justice in the afterlife, while denying the justice of God in this life, for you have chosen to deny His perfection, His infinite righteousness, and His divine majesty. It is in this life, that His divine justice is revealed to men whom have proven to be of godly as well ungodly character.
@Rylucero I only deny the negative aspects of God that you insist on, the wrath, hatred, and anger. Your God is the one described in the bible, contradicted and in error. I affirm His perfection, His infinite righteousness, and His divine majesty. Proverbs says wrath is cruel, and it would be just as cruel for God as it is for man. God is not cruel, and does not send people to a specialized torture chamber which you call Hell, the bible notwithstanding.
@k0smon There are many utterances by Christ regarding hell in the Gospels, Jesus spoke of "fire" Matthew 7:19, 13:40, 25:41, Luke 12:49, John 15:6, "everlasting fire" Matthew 18:8, 25:41,"eternal damnation" Mark 3:29, "hell fire" Matt 5:22, 18:9, Mark 9:47 ,"damnation" Matthew 23:14, Mark 12:40, Luke 20:47 ,"damnation of hell" Matthew 23:33 ,"resurrection of damnation" John 5:29 ,"furnace of fire" Matthew 13:42, 50"the fire that never shall be quenched" Mark 9:43, 45
@k0smon There are many references by Christ regarding hell in the Gospels, Jesus spoke of “hell” Matthew 10:28, Matthew5:30, Matthew 5:29, Matthew 11:23, Matthew 16:18, Luke 10:15, Matthew 23:15, Mark 9:45, Matthew 23:33, Mark 9:43, Luke 12:5. Luke 16:23,”darkness” John 12:46, “burn” Matthew 13:30, “burned” Matthew13:40, John 15:6, “Condemned” John 3:18,”Damned” Mark 16:16,references regarding the permanence of hell, a “Great Gulf fixed”, Luke 16:26
@k0smon There are many descriptions by Christ regarding hell in the Gospels, "the fire is not quenched" Mark 9:44, 46, 48,"Where their worm dieth not" Mark 9:44, 46, 48 ,"wailing and gnashing of teeth" Matthew 13:42, 50 ,"weeping and gnashing of teeth" Matthew 8:12, 13:5022:13, 24:51, 25:30, Luke 13:28, Luke 27:28,"torments" Luke 16:23, "tormented in this flame" Luke 16:24,"place of torment" Luke 16:28,"outer darkness" Matthew 8:12, 22:13, 25:30,"everlasting punishment" Matthew 25:46
@k0smon You lack understanding, because you have chosen to deny a literal hell, you deny the teaching of Christ, for Christ made many references regarding a literal hell in the Gospels, “condemn the world”, John 3:17, “should not perish”, John 3:15, John 3:16, “judgment” John 5:22, John 8:16, John9:39, John 16:11 Luke 11:42, Mark 6:11,Matthew 5:19, 5:20, “condemnation”, John 5:24, “perisheth”, John 6:27, “cast out”, John 6:37, “condemn”, John 8:11
@Rylucero Actually, I do believe in literal hells, but they do not work as the bible describes them. They are not 'burning', they are dark and miserable. I have found good descriptions of these in a book called "A Wanderer in the Spirit Lands", free download from the internet
@k0smon Woe unto fools who hate knowledge, who fear truth, these workers of iniquity that deny a literal hell and in doing so deny the Father. Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21, “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” Matthew 7:23
@k0smon incorrect. The Bible is God breathed. If you believe something different than what the Bilbe really is then you are not worshipping the God of the Bible. Sorry buddy. It is what it is.
@lowbattery34 Again I will agree with you. I recognize the Creator, omnipresent and all powerful, who needs no lords, saviors, or holy spirits to help Him. As far as the God of the bible is concerned, if He is part of a trinity, then I definitely do not worship him. Strange that bible scholar Bart Ehrman does not agree that the bible is God breathed.
@AthiestsOnTheMove : I have no proof that will convince you. I am convinced because of complexity, from the atom to the universe. How about flagellar motors?
@k0smon ::: Yes, yes, I do deny the correctness of the bible. I am in accord with Bart Ehrman, bible scholar, who says the bible is full of contradiction, discrepancy and error.
@k0smon Um, God is God. It would not be as cruel for God as it is for man. We are merely men. He is God. If He wanted to, He can destroy all of us in a blink of an eye. Why? Because He is God...and we are man. KNow your place.
@k0smon No... His congregation does NOT make that determination. The Word of God has ALREADY decided that. Listen to what Paul said: "For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! (1 Corinthians 9:16)
@FiberMania If there is one thing Joel does not do, is boast. The 'word of God' as you call it, is up for interpretation, and how many thousands of ways are there to interpret the bible? Joel's message sounds like the Gospel to me, since he quotes scripture and gives an invitation after every sermon.
@k0smon "Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By THIS gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. OTHERWISE YOU HAVE BELIEVED IN VAIN. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... (1 Cor 15:1-3)
@FiberMania God will deal with you and Joel as He sees fit. My observation is that Joel is doing God's work, and it is a work that is highly successful. I do not know about your work.
Please excuse me while I go and THROW UP! This is worse than Jim Jones. Almost everyone in America loves a false prophet. They don't care about truth. "just tell me how I can get some mo' money". "How much sin can I get away with?" "Jesus who? Oh, you wanna put some of that in there too? Ok. Ain't gonna be none of that Word stuff tho isit?" "Yall got some butter for my popcorn to go with the show too?" "Joel sure is lookin good tonight for the service?" "How yall like those new big screens?"
@hallnoats4ever Interesting axiom. I can accept the first part of it - you certainly can speak for your own condition. You would however be hard pressed to prove that everyone else is also unless you were God.
@darthfocus don't be so such a sheep. So you really believe that the world has different languages because we tried to build a "tower" to heaven? I remember asking in Biology class "How was the earth formed, and don't just say god did it" Why are you a Christen anyways? I'll tell you why because you were born in a Christen country with Christen parents. If you were born in India with Hindu parents you would be telling me how Hinduism is the "right" religion
@hallnoats4ever Classic Ad Hominem, keep it about the topic, not me. If "truth is relative to where you were born". Then that "truth" is also relative and instantly disqualifies itself as truth.
@darthfocus Christianity has you believe "you are a sinner, you are nothing, you are weak now beg on your knees to god and beg him to forgive you. Only if you spend the rest of your life on your knees begging and gobbling for HIS mercy he might take pity on your sole and not send you to hell to burn for eternity" What a great story to keep you on our knees. We are born sinners and we must repent for being born this way. Wow!
@hallnoats4ever Changing the subject again? Fine. You have a common distortion of the faith. It's really the opposite.
Christianity isn't a life spent cowering and begging for forgiveness but rather a life spent living and loving in light of already having been forgiven.
@darthfocus ::: What is your differentiation between a false Christ and the original one? Please point out where in the conversation Christ gets false.
@k0smon The real Jesus didn't preach about "living your best life now". Joel's Jesus does. If the NT eye witness accounts of Jesus are in error (as you hold) then Joel's Jesus is even more in error as he certainly was not an eye witness.
@k0smon Matthew and John were clearly eye witness accounts. We do have plenty of manuscript evidence, exponentially more than any other historical text. My point still stands. Joel's Jesus is less reliable than the NT eye witness accounts of Jesus which you reject. Your can't escape this. You are creating Jesus in your subjective image.
If God doesn't need my help than neither does He need yours with regard to me.
@darthfocus :::Who were the eye witnesses? Bible scholars say that we don't know who wrote the four gospels. The names on the titles of the books were assigned. Lots of manuscripts, just no originals.
If I reject Jesus, then how can I be creating him in my own subjective image?
Check out some of Bart Ehrman's speeches here on YT. You will learn more about bible history.
@k0smon Matthew and John are eye witnesses accounts. The manuscript evidence is unprecedented. If there is no objective standard (bible) by which we understand Jesus then He is up for grabs to be molded into our hearts subjective desire.
@darthfocus :::May I repeat the question, who were the eye witnesses? And how do you know? I know more about Jesus than you wish I did. If you can't answer my questions, then just say you don't know. 1 Peter 3:15.
They claim to be eye witness accounts and offer too much meticulous detail to be fabricated. They could be easily disproved if they were frauds. Go read "Jesus and the eye witnesses" by Richard Bauckham for further study.
1 John1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us."
I wish these guys would just stop pretending to teach the bible and call themselves something other than Christian. But there's just too much money to be made on the backs of "christian" fools.
@darthfocus :::It is a different time, different circumstances. Jesus didn't preach about cars, TVs,, radios or cell phones. Do we have any 'eye-witness accounts', or was the bible written later from word of mouth accounts? We certainly do not have any original documentation for the bible. History is difficult because they burned the libraries, and any book that did not agree with whoever was in power. A lot is left to 'faith'.
God deals with Joel, and He doesn't need your help.
Yes, Eric Liddell, a British 1924 Olympic runner and champion. A devoted follower of God and Christ dedicated his life to be a missionary in China where he died. He preached to the rich and poor in China. Stayed there during WWII, facing hunger and death. You won't see this speaker go hungry and into a war torn country to live with his family. Where's his step of faith?
We're just poor ole sinners saved by grace..."I know that's true in a sense." In a SENSE?
IT IS WRITTEN - there's not enough room in less then 500 spaces to list ALL the biblical points for this & he says, 'It's true...in a SENSE?"
God refines us into the image of Christ through constant conviction of sin. I don't mean the man any harm, but when he starts rewriting the Bible - I have to speak up. Don't drink the KOOL-AID. Sorry Borders, but people should spend their $ on THE BIBLE instead.
This is NOT BIBLICAL TRUTH! Still small voice..."whatever you want to CALL IT?" WHAT?! Mr. Osteen, if this is how you feel, then TAKE HIS NAME OFF your work. Before you disagree, ask yourself--have I read ALL the Bible? If not, how do I know his prosperity campaign is completely in line with it? And this GARBAGE that God does not convict us of our sins after salvation is a LIE from the PIT of HELL. He doesn't need people to buy his, he needs people to pool their resources & pay for an exorcism.
Hey! Check out this NEW Video!

JohnJancar 4 months ago
@JohnJancar Right, I guess cancer Doctors should take the same approach too. Sure you have cancer but let's not call it cancer. Let's say you were born healthy and your body is just not perfect. Of course 6 months later you would be dead but at least you wouldn't be bothered thinking those negative thoughts.
darthfocus 4 months ago
@darthfocus So you think we are born sinners then. That we are all just lowly imperfect humans, and we sin because it's our nature. Well why did God create such an imperfect race? I think there is a higher reality to that. I think we all, by our nature, are good loving people, we just get sucked into the dark side, and our world molds us to become sinful. Little babies are always loving and full of joy and happiness, unless they're in a negative situation. Same with the human race as a whole.
JohnJancar 4 months ago
@JohnJancar Totally disagree. Babies throw tantrums when they don't get what they want. They are all about self. God made men good but when sin entered in the garden it tainted everything. Rom 5:12
Men are truly wicked and if we believe what bible says we are (as Joel makes everyone say all the time) then we have to face what we really are: Romans 3:10-20, We are evil to the core. We are such from birth and by the examples of others. Psalm 51:5 & Pro 22:25
darthfocus 4 months ago
@darthfocus Oh come on, babies are not inherently wicked. The human race itself is not inherently wicked, I am not inherently wicked. You can believe you are, but I'm not. And I would be wary of believing something just because it's in the Bible. I'm reading the Bible, from beginning to end, and I have only gotten up to Leviticus now, and I can already name you like a dozen things which God has done which have been "wicked". Clearly that's not the true God, the true God is found in your heart!
JohnJancar 4 months ago
@JohnJancar The devil deceived Eve not to believe His word too. If you reject the bible then you are left with your own subjective views about the nature of man, morality and God. You now sit in the place of God and judge Him? Well then you have become "like God" which is what Satan told Eve in the garden. "The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?" Jer 17:9 - don't trust it. Pro 3:5
darthfocus 4 months ago

They hum along to hundreds of songs recorded by artist, but Never Read or Study the word of God.

John 15:19.
Rylucero 1 year ago
@ChasingJesus1 You lack understanding regarding the attributes of a true prophet of God. A true prophet speaks not only in God’s name but by His authority as well. They are vessels of His testimony, His word, and His purpose. They declare His gift of Salvation by faith to all men without compromise or deceit. They through their obedience and faith speak His word to all men as His witness and His prophet. True prophets walk after the LORD, they fear the LORD, and they keep His commandments.
Rylucero 1 year ago
@ChasingJesus1 While God is a God of Love and Truth, we are called to speak of His other attributes of Vengeance, Wrath, Judgment, and Anger. For someone not to acknowledge these attributes is to deny who God is, His Divine Character as well as His Nature. The truth of God is narrow, as is the number of those who truly accept His gift of salvation and are given eternal life. To deny a literal hell for the unbeliever and to not speak of sin is to deny the teaching of Christ.
Rylucero 1 year ago
@Rylucero You have a very low concept of your Creator, if you saddle Him with human frailties like vengeance, wrath, judgement and anger. He is perfect in all respects. If you say He has these negative attributes, does that mean it is OK for us to have them also?
k0smon 1 year ago
@k0smon The divine qualities and holy characteristics of God do not embody frailty or imperfection, your concept of a perfect holy Creator is flawed for you have chosen to look at Him from a man’s perspective. What you choose not to accept is that God’s wrath and fury is consistent with his goodness, and that His divine perfection detests sin and unrighteousness. Scripture speaks to the attributes of God “there is no god with me, I kill, and I make alive, I wound, and I heal” Deuteronomy 32:39
Rylucero 1 year ago
@Rylucero I do not look at God from the human perspective as you do. After all, you assign to him qualities that you find in a human book, the bible. The consistency you exclaim is really inconsistency. Scripture lies about God, demeaning Him into the form of imperfect man.
k0smon 1 year ago
@k0smon You lack understanding regarding the nature of God which is one of love and reverence. His very nature and essence is one of perfected love, which unlike men is divinely inspired and is holy in it’s divine character, it is a love that encompasses His innermost being and infuses all of His attributes, including His perfected wrath and His perfected anger. This being the very nature of God, He demonstrates His love, just as He demonstrates all of His attributes to His greater glory.
Rylucero 1 year ago
@Rylucero There is no such thing as 'perfect wrath'. It is a negative emotion, and by its very nature not a rational act. You are accusing God of being irrational.
k0smon 1 year ago
@k0smon You lack understanding regarding the attributes of God, you choose to assign rationality and emotion to a being that is beyond our intellectual capacity to fully understand. There is divine wrath against every form of sin that cannot be ignored because God, being a just God must through His perfected wrath punish those who sin against Him. Regardless of what you may believe, there is perfected wrath, perfected hate, perfected anger as there is perfected forgiveness and perfected love.
Rylucero 1 year ago
@Rylucero You continue to claim the absurd. You may keep your convoluted, biblical understanding of God, I will understand God as absolute perfection.
k0smon 1 year ago
@Rylucero :::Proverbs 27:4 has some very wise words about your "wrathful God".
k0smon 11 months ago
@k0smon You lack understanding regarding His wrath which is a manifestation of his character as well as His righteousness. The wrath of God is consistent with His holy character which is one of love and is in accordance with His perfect will. Those who are stubbornly proud, rebellious, ungodly, and who detest Him are subject to His wrath. True wisdom regarding His attributes is impossible for the fool to attain for he lacks the understanding that is necessary for acceptance of this will
Rylucero 11 months ago
@Rylucero :: I certainly do not understand as you do. So you worship a cruel God, no doubt part of His "holy character' and 'perfection'. True wisdom is impossible for those who call black white, to call God cruel and perfect at the same time. Your God is diametrically opposed to himself, having inconsistent characteristics that are incredible to contemplate. You may keep that god, I will keep the real One.
k0smon 11 months ago
@k0s You misspeak regarding the attributes of a holy God. It appears that your only desire is to appeal to your own moral sensibilities regarding His character as opposed to those characteristics that truly define Him. You state that the God I worship is cruel which is contrary to His character, His actions, His mercy, His patience and His motivation. You lack understanding, for you confuse just punishment for cruelty that is meted out to those who have chosen to bring calamity upon themselves.
Rylucero 11 months ago
@Rylucero You (and the bible) state that God has wrath, and the bible says wrath is cruel. I think we have here another internal contradiction in the bible that indicates to me that the bible is not the word of God. My 'moral sensibilities', and other sources of spiritual information tell me God is perfect, and without human imperfections such as wrath or hatred. There is justice in the afterlife, but it does not work as the bible describes it.
k0smon 11 months ago
@k0smon You have misspoken once again and shown a complete lack of understanding regarding His divine attributes, the bible speaks to human cruelty, not to the cruelty of God. You speak of a justice in the afterlife, while denying the justice of God in this life, for you have chosen to deny His perfection, His infinite righteousness, and His divine majesty. It is in this life, that His divine justice is revealed to men whom have proven to be of godly as well ungodly character.
Rylucero 11 months ago
@Rylucero I only deny the negative aspects of God that you insist on, the wrath, hatred, and anger. Your God is the one described in the bible, contradicted and in error. I affirm His perfection, His infinite righteousness, and His divine majesty. Proverbs says wrath is cruel, and it would be just as cruel for God as it is for man. God is not cruel, and does not send people to a specialized torture chamber which you call Hell, the bible notwithstanding.

@k0smon Um, God is God. It would not be as cruel for God as it is for man. We are merely men. He is God. If He wanted to, He can destroy all of us in a blink of an eye. Why? Because He is God...and we are man. KNow your place.

Joel is a motivational speaker with a christian slant. He's certainly should never be considered a pastor or bible preacher.
FiberMania 2 years ago
@FiberMania Isn't it up to his congregation to make the determination as to whether he is a pastor or bible preacher?
k0smon 1 year ago
@k0smon No... His congregation does NOT make that determination. The Word of God has ALREADY decided that. Listen to what Paul said: "For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! (1 Corinthians 9:16)
FiberMania 1 year ago
@FiberMania If there is one thing Joel does not do, is boast. The 'word of God' as you call it, is up for interpretation, and how many thousands of ways are there to interpret the bible? Joel's message sounds like the Gospel to me, since he quotes scripture and gives an invitation after every sermon.
k0smon 1 year ago
@k0smon "Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By THIS gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. OTHERWISE YOU HAVE BELIEVED IN VAIN. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... (1 Cor 15:1-3)
FiberMania 1 year ago
@k0smon Joel's message is pleasant to the ears, but it is NOT the gospel. Below is a good summary of the gospel...... the one in the Bible!
FiberMania 1 year ago
@FiberMania ::: Joel's audience already has the gospel. He addresses his sermons to Christians. He is not an evangelist.
k0smon 11 months ago
@FiberMania The gospel means good news, and that is exactly what Joel teaches.
k0smon 11 months ago
@FiberMania God will deal with you and Joel as He sees fit. My observation is that Joel is doing God's work, and it is a work that is highly successful. I do not know about your work.
k0smon 11 months ago
@k0smon Joel Osteen does NOT preach the gospel. It is believing and understanding that gospel that keeps sinners from going to Hell.
FiberMania 1 year ago
Please excuse me while I go and THROW UP! This is worse than Jim Jones. Almost everyone in America loves a false prophet. They don't care about truth. "just tell me how I can get some mo' money". "How much sin can I get away with?" "Jesus who? Oh, you wanna put some of that in there too? Ok. Ain't gonna be none of that Word stuff tho isit?" "Yall got some butter for my popcorn to go with the show too?" "Joel sure is lookin good tonight for the service?" "How yall like those new big screens?"

this man is christless
vj5467 2 years ago 7
@vj5467 You must be deaf. He invites his listeners to accept Christ after each sermon.
k0smon 11 months ago
@vj5467 you are christless for passing judgments on him
hallnoats4ever 6 months ago
@hallnoats4ever Does that apply to you when you pass judgment?
darthfocus 4 months ago
@darthfocus I know I am Christless, so does everyone else some just have the balls to admit it
hallnoats4ever 4 months ago
@hallnoats4ever Interesting axiom. I can accept the first part of it - you certainly can speak for your own condition. You would however be hard pressed to prove that everyone else is also unless you were God.
darthfocus 4 months ago
@darthfocus don't be so such a sheep. So you really believe that the world has different languages because we tried to build a "tower" to heaven? I remember asking in Biology class "How was the earth formed, and don't just say god did it" Why are you a Christen anyways? I'll tell you why because you were born in a Christen country with Christen parents. If you were born in India with Hindu parents you would be telling me how Hinduism is the "right" religion
hallnoats4ever 4 months ago
@hallnoats4ever Classic Ad Hominem, keep it about the topic, not me. If "truth is relative to where you were born". Then that "truth" is also relative and instantly disqualifies itself as truth.
darthfocus 4 months ago

He who loves much has been forgiven much.

@vj5467 :::: Strange that a person you claim is Christless, gives an invitation to accept Christ after every sermon.

@k0smon: Offering a false Christ isn't offering Christ.
darthfocus 4 months ago
@darthfocus ::: What is your differentiation between a false Christ and the original one? Please point out where in the conversation Christ gets false.
k0smon 4 months ago

If God doesn't need my help than neither does He need yours with regard to me.
darthfocus 4 months ago
@darthfocus :::Who were the eye witnesses? Bible scholars say that we don't know who wrote the four gospels. The names on the titles of the books were assigned. Lots of manuscripts, just no originals.
If I reject Jesus, then how can I be creating him in my own subjective image?
Check out some of Bart Ehrman's speeches here on YT. You will learn more about bible history.
k0smon 4 months ago
@k0smon Matthew and John are eye witnesses accounts. The manuscript evidence is unprecedented. If there is no objective standard (bible) by which we understand Jesus then He is up for grabs to be molded into our hearts subjective desire.
You would do well to learn about it yourself.
darthfocus 4 months ago
@darthfocus :::May I repeat the question, who were the eye witnesses? And how do you know? I know more about Jesus than you wish I did. If you can't answer my questions, then just say you don't know. 1 Peter 3:15.

@k0smon I did answer it. You know about your subjective Jesus which is less reliable than the eye witness accounts.
Matthew (Mattathias) Mark 2:12
John is the son of Zebedee Mark 1:19.
They claim to be eye witness accounts and offer too much meticulous detail to be fabricated. They could be easily disproved if they were frauds. Go read "Jesus and the eye witnesses" by Richard Bauckham for further study.

7:04 " I'm not a sinner anymore."
word faith nonsense.

Sorry Borders, but people should spend their $ on THE BIBLE instead.
fruitofspirit 2 years ago
This is NOT BIBLICAL TRUTH! Still small voice..."whatever you want to CALL IT?" WHAT?! Mr. Osteen, if this is how you feel, then TAKE HIS NAME OFF your work. Before you disagree, ask yourself--have I read ALL the Bible? If not, how do I know his prosperity campaign is completely in line with it? And this GARBAGE that God does not convict us of our sins after salvation is a LIE from the PIT of HELL. He doesn't need people to buy his, he needs people to pool their resources & pay for an exorcism.
