@xlilgemx31 yes. Anything with an undercoat shouldn't be shaved if you can help it. It can grow back splotchy, really uneven in some places. Alot of the time you can blow the undercoat out with a high velocity dryer if you're worried about shedding. But if you shave it, you run the risk of ruining the coat.
fluffy & poufy are awesome but remember..... it gets HOT!!! i hate having my pommie groomed, but believe me, she LOVES it!~! imagine walking around with that COAT when it's 95 & 99% humid - UGH!
Now how com pippy got to keep all her hair but bandit had to all of his chopped off?! I think poms shouldn't be shaved at allllll. I mean thts the point of the Pomeranian being fluffy and poufy. To show it off, not shave it off. The fluffy hair is part of the poms personality, it's what makes a pom a pom. But on the other hand pippy looks cute :/
@Jeanelle092398 the dog looks like a healthy weight actually. The lady did gie t ahair cut but of course she didnt skin-shave it completely (which you're not suppose to ) she left some hair on the dog.
@xXHelloKittyCupcakeX Even though the pomeranian is known for its long fur, and looking like a teddybear : ) It is not unusual that poms get shaved, pomeranians in competition should have their long fur, but regular pet owners can find that shaving their dog is easier, and will cost a lot less then taking their dogs to the groomers once every month or more : )
I think the last comment was unfair. Sometimes longer haired dogs need to be clipped back be it matting or because of warm weather. She did a beautiful even job, and he looked in proportion.
@claudinenz1 unfair? no honest. and long haired dogs should not be "shaved"because of warm weather, trimmed yes. But their fur is their insulation hot or cold. If its 90 out you supply them with shelter and fresh water......just like us. If we are hot so are they. Matting is an entirely different issue of course.
He looks great??!! He looks ridiculous. How about getting a Mexican hairless if you think that looks right. Pomeranian's are supposed to have fur. Look up black skin disease and coat funk.
Shes so preetty :L Lol no homo , jst sayin

I'm sooo glad that these groomers understand that papillon's ear fringes should NOT be cut or shaved off lol!
