  • u_u R.I.P Rorschach & The Comedian.

  • Rorschach is one badass ginger.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! MY IPHONE WAS STILL IN HIS JACKET!

  • Never compromise, not even in the face of Armageddon

  • Sacrifices, deceptions, schemes, secrets must be made to keep "peace and order" in the world we live in. And that is exactly Ozymandias did what he did, that is why he is the smartest man in the world. And as we all know, ignorance is truly bliss.

  • Y U NO SAVE HIM </3

  • If you give up your humanity in order to "save" humanity; you are doing nothing but prolonging the suffering of man-kind. For what do we gain by losing that which we fight for?

  • I hate that Rorschach had to die and he is my favorite character but I am on dr Manhattan's side on this. Sacrifices have to be made.

  • @grkpektis there is no execuse to sacrifice peoples lives for a "better purpose" , no one have the right to decide who die and who live , we all feel our uniqueness in this world , but we always forget that other are too , how can you accept to finish the existant of a unique being in the name of making a better futur , a futur that may or may not happen .

  • @NaruKloa you realize that by sacrificing peoples lives, the entire world was saved right? If those people didnt die, they would have died in nuclear war anyways. They die or they die. One results in everyone dying the other results in comparitively few people dieing. There's your excuse.

  • Rorschach makes wolverine look like a pup.

  • I noticed no difference. Good job in the time wasting directors cut department.

  • Rorschach is my favourite comic book hero right after batman

  • this is the way he died in the movie too

  • =( hate the movie cause rorschach had to die ..

  • @RichyRich2607

he didn't have to die. Nothing has to happen. He chose to confront the guy who can kill him.

  • ya que todo esta en ingles...

    Soy Gaaaaaaaayyyyyyy jajajaja

  • @1998yamil Te entendí! XD

  • @1998yamil ...Fag.

  • Have you notice the snow stops falling and stays in it place? That's so fucking badass.

  • a question.

Rorschach die in the comic book?

    I never read the comic.

  • @FaqndoRedX Yes, in the exact same way. The only major deviation from the graphic novel is the exact nature of what Ozymandias creates as a threat. In the movie it's Dr. Manhattan, in the novel it's aliens by way of a genetically engineered beast being teleported into New York, with the teleportation effect killing the people there and making humans believe they're being attacked by aliens.

But yeah, in both versions Rorschach refuses to be a part of the lie and Manhattan kills him.

  • However what the last scene shows, is that while he may have been forgotten, his legacy may yet prevail.

  • Ok seriously, why the fuck was Night-Owl there?! Was it really that important that someone yell out "NOOOO" when Rorschach died?! For me that just gave the scene an unwelcome sense of cliche and ham. I'm going to go out on limb here and say that what his death so profound in the comic is that, at the moment he was truly alone. No one is there to see it and he is just as easily forgotten as Dan and Laurie do the nasty.

  • @drhploveboat Exactly. For all anyone knows, Rorschach just finally hung up the mask and quit, or maybe died in NYC. In the graphic novel, only Jon knows he's dead. But I think it will haunt Jon enough, even so.

  • @drhploveboat That scream from Night Owl made that scene!

  • @SuxSesStory No, just no....no

  • This is not different than the regular cut..

  • He became an icon,he won't be forgotten ,which also raises the question: won't people ask why did he died and why was he involved ?

  • Hands down to me this was the best superhero movie of all time superhero movies don't have to have a happy ending! i loved it!

  • Dr Manhattan didn't kill Rorschach, he just killed Kovacs. Rorschach ceased to exist when he took off the mask, his true face.

  • @WesleyShephard I don't believe that's correct. Rorschach clearly stated that Kovacs "died" when he confronted the death of that little girl. Kovacs died and was reborn: a descent into utter nihilism and despair gave birth to Rorschach. Only by becoming something other than human, rejecting his own humanity, could he cope with what he had witnessed.

I think he took off the mask because he wanted to force Jon to look into his eyes as he killed him. Nothing more or less.

  • @lol1143 you stupid jerk who decides who's gonna live and whos gonna die? i think your opinion would be way different if it was your loved ones who have to die and the people who live were the people who suffer in cambodia nigeria zimbabwe etc. And sadly the people who go off and show off their humanitarian attitude are the ones who are deeply responsible for the shitty condition that world is in. They are the ones discriminating they are the ones killing , they are the ones who use somebody el

  • @TheAbush You're an idiot.

  • what i like about this movie it that you see humanity through several points of view

  • Ironically, Rorschach was Night Owl's best and only friend. His new girlfriend will never be as close. Just a gold digging whore.

  • ink blot blood stain 1:49

  • Yet in the end the stinky old hobo beat the billionaire genius superhero and glowing blue god with a pen and paper.

  • @SangriaStud28 Doubt it. They'll read the words of a so-called madman and dismiss them completely.

  • so......the good guys are the bad guys? whats going on?

  • @cryptidman117 The whole point of Watchmen is there are no "good guys" or "bad guys" ... everyone is flawed ... everyone has issues ... and Veidt saves the lives of billions by killings tens of thousands.

  • “You haven't idealized mankind, you've...you've deformed it! You mutilated it. That's your legacy. That's the real practical joke.”

Fits perfectly well with John XXIII and Paul VI after they infiltrated the church and convened vatican II. It didn't better mankind, it made it into a bigger joke than it already is with its obsession over sex and the mundane things of life instead of the spiritual.

  • @philipmarie1854 You're an idiot.

  • i never liked blue penises :|

  • He forgot to put the oven on

  • Rorshach was my favorite character, though I indentified more with Ozymandias.

  • i didnt understand why he wanted to die

  • @danteindarkness because he knew he wouldn't be able to keep the secret that dr manhattan didn't kill all those people and that it was ozymandias. as manhattan said "i can't change human nature". america and russia would've went to war and millions more would've died if rorschach told the truth about what happened so he knew he had to die

  • @Scuzzz all i can say that the best had to die last...

  • @danteindarkness You can take it in many ways

Maybe he hated what he had become, the black and white absolutist

Maybe he didn't want to die, but knew damn well he wasn't getting past John and was angry at that, so that "do it" wasn't a death wish but anger at the inevitable.

My personal take is. He was still the black and white absolutist, but he also knew Ozymandias was RIGHT. And he couldn't take that. He couldn't take that contradiction.

  • @lol1143 i know what you mean.. but it wasnt fair that the good guy had to die while the other got away with it with murder.. i was hoping that they beat that piece of shit down, in any other way.. where they could still evade the war.

  • @danteindarkness Rorschach was by no means a good guy. Moral absolutism is not the right way to go about things.

In some ways...you can't deny Ozymandias idea wasn't right. Sacrifice 10 people to save 100.

    Of course I disagree...but on a moral level, I can't condemn him

  • @lol1143 maybe i just need to watch the movie again to understand the whole picture.. but wasnt ozymandians idea to nucklear the whole city.. and rorscach was the one eho tried to stop it.. so maybe in the end both ozymandians and rorscach had their own decesions to make things right

  • @lol1143 Well said...

  • @philosophygoth91 However, humans may be bastards but they can be good, Catholic or not and to me, Catholic saints were more sincere than most. Its not the meaning of life that is a joke; the meaning of lfie is to get to heaven and see God and Mary. Its the intentions of humanity that are a huge joke which will kick them in the face. The world will loo and shout save us and God will answer no... but Mary and Jesus will plead and convert them and then God will say 'Yes' and forgive them. Mariae!

  • @lol1143 It's the generally accepted view in academia that utilitarian thinking is flawed. That is, it's believed that we as humans cannot quantify our own worth or happiness in real world application.

  • he looks so different here than in nightmare on elm st

  • to the people out there who are still raw about his death......

    ...remember the journal ;)

  • if you look closely, the blot pattern on Rorschach is accurate to his last moments in the comic book. KUDOS to the visual editors

  • indeed, I read that he was really into his role as he enjoyed the comic previous to the casting, and when he had the chance to play Rorschach he jumped on it. You can tell he put all his heart into getting this role right

  • Wow, Jackie actually played Rorschach great in this movie. I felt more in this scene then when Ozyma... "The smartest man in the world" destroyed New York City.

  • Jesus you'd think that Dr.Manhattan could have just stopped his heart or something not f*cking kill him in the most brutal way possible

  • How is this the Director's Cut? Isn'tt his the same as the theatrical version?

  • @thejoexman thats exactly what I was thinking, i just watched the normal version the other day and this seems no different?

  • @EaterOfDimSum Idk, maybe the poster just grabbed the clip from the Director's Cut and didn't realize there was no difference. Oh well.

  • well Rorschach deserved to die he asked for it

  • Nite Owl's eyes are small without the glasses

  • Rorschach was the ONLY hero. The rest were just assholes...

  • Nothing like liberals. Whats a few millions death for a good cause. Hey, didn't stalin kill 50,000,000 people, hitler, 11,000,000 people... oh yeah, right, they were socialists. That's what liberals are. All murderers, if you give them the chance.

  • @sdbfskdfs

You know nothing of the philosophies of socialists, or liberals.

  • This ending made me feel so bad...

  • Dick move, manhattan. Dick move.

  • Watchmen has the best ending to any comic book or graphic novel. The fact that you count Rorschach as the hero but unltimately it was Ozymandias, then you realise the world wasn't saved because Rorschach left his journal to the news! So fucking clever

  • 1:35 nAAaaaAAaAaaaa

  • @sharklord Lol!

  • Hate Dr Manhattan now.....

  • Comment removed

  • I find it a pathetic end for Rorshach... blowing up like that. I never liked dr manhattan for not giving him a nobler death...

  • To bad Rorschach's mind couldn't be put in Dr. Manhattan's body. Not to mention the whole plan is stupid, humans always find something to fight over and will continue to fight, especially after they see their common enemy is gone.

  • @mongolenpup "controlled folly"?

  • night owl reminds me of rick santorum lol

  • Just saying but his blood stain on the snow was beautiful

  • @shadowkid97 Just like the Rorschach spots on his mask.

  • Rorschach was far from perfect. Sexist, homophobic, paranoid, and kind of a jerk.

But being flawed is what makes us human. And he was as human as one could be. R.I.P. Rorschach, you are a true badass hero.

  • it was an angel... :(

  • Rorshach was the one who seeked the truth, not the salvation of humanity like others. That's what so interesting about Rorshach. He wasn't afraid to be honest, to seek and say the truth, even if it would destroy human kind.

Huh... It's funny... Maybe it's irony... The thing humanity seeked all this time... The truth... Is the final stop in our journey... After we discover it, after we acknowledge it, we stop being human, we become something bigger.. Like Rorschach..

  • @Justas923 and while the title and position is something great, i would never wish it upon others, when you become like rorschach you lose something...something unexplicable...or perhaps its just too depressing to think of the word for what has been lost.

  • @Justas923 Rorshack is the philosophy of Ayn Rand. Rorshack is "Mr. A" by Ditko. Rorshack is still the most loved and best character in the film, despite the authors attempt to slander the origional Mr. A. and philosophy behind it.

  • @Justas923

I always took it that humanity was to sick to know the truth, humans are too violent and that they have to be manipulated so that they don't kill each other. This is what made Rorshach such a great character

  • Those are the slowest falling snow flakes ever...

  • @misfit13091 It's Dr. Manhattan. Notice how some go upwards. Around 0:18 you will notice them slow down.

  • Veidt is the best

  • @iamductri Veidt is a douche

  • @seminoleboy96 How was rorschach sexist ?

  • @Spinozilla98 i never said that? i said i hated veidt

  • Thanks for wasting my time. This was the same one as in the movies.

  • Probably my favorite scene too and I think it's better that Night Owl was there to see it.

  • @OmniAndro He can but he doesn't care

  • adrian veidt is my favourite character

  • You know when Rorschach removes his mask, it is serious!!

  • He said Nooo, because Rorschach didn't return him 20 dollars

  • @AzaBagaAK33 Nah because the smell of Dan's digested beans hit his nostrils, ewww NOOOO!!!

  • Rorschach did bad things yet he was the most likable character (for me). Jackie Earle Haley will without a doubt get his Oscar soon, and one day he may even rank amongst the best actors ever.

  • @uberasianproductions Indeed. He is a fantastic actor and one of the best, if not probably the best, one I've seen.

  • @wtf93931

I see Doc like the representation of "GOD" think about it, he has all this god-like powers and because of it is able to see things that other can't,that leads him to de-humanize him from people,as a result he ends up not giving a damn.

  • @WandererKei

I know what you mean?,but keeping balance? I don't think so he was a fascist,he talks about humanity like shit acting like everyone is the same,he is very conservative,I don't think you keep the balance from the monster of society by being a monster yourself, you don't turn off fire with fire.

  • @MrLiquidjcb13 Exactly.

  • if manhattan has so much power why not erase rorshach's memory of the last few weeks and teleport him home?

  • @OmniAndro He can only change matter. Not what people remember. Well, he can give them memory but not take it away.

  • As cool as Rorschach is he is really sad in many places. He said he admired President Truman for dropping the bomb because even though people died more would have if the war continued. Yet when Ozymandias does the same thing he is shaken and refuses to go along with it showing even he will can change his mind and is not what he seems to be.

The writer even said he was in severe mental and emotional pain he wanted to die and asked Jon to end his pain.

  • @mindthegapmindthegap Well you know, Rorschach's backstory is disturbing and heartbreaking because he came from a horrible environment, his mother was an abusive, mean ho, and he had pyschological & mental problems.

  • @mindthegapmindthegap The difference is we was at war. Dropping the bombs Japan ended ended the killing from that conflict. If Dr.M couldn't see the future then how come he just concludes that humanity kills itself? I think Dr.M let his power go to his head.

  • @Xantheus07 But in the story the world is at the brink and it is only a matter of time before a World War begins Veidt does the same thing as Truman only now when faced with the reality of it he is shaken and can not comprehend it. Even when he mentions in the opening that he would not care if death piled up on people yet when he sees it he is bothered by it.

Even Alan Moore said he had a death wish and wanted out but with honor so he wanted Manhattan to kill him.

  • @mindthegapmindthegap Yeah its ok for a the story world but the line about US dropping the bomb on Japan is the same is flawed. "Its only a matter of time before the US and USSR go to war" was a thought in many heads in the 70-80s but how did that turn out.

  • @Xantheus07 should be 60-80s

  • Dr Manhattan is a pushover

  • ow

  • Dr Manhattan is a massive bullshitter - he says he is neutral ('I don't condone or condemn') but if he was then why does he support Veidt and kill Rorschach.

  • @wtf93931

Because if Rorschach would have survived he would have gone back and told everyone. Then the entire world would be at war again and maybe kill everybody.

  • Rorschach was the real hero...but I guess just a few don't count.

  • @levitabusman it's not shit, you just don't understand it

  • I took Sci-Fi I in my senior year of high school, and for the last portion of the class; we studied the history of comics from the very beginning. Most people who took the class took it just to get a copy of Watchmen. The moment I got that book, I turned RIGHT to the Rorschach's prison chapter. Loved it. I now actively collect comics because of it.

  • the thing i like about roshach is that he belives in absolute justice, he never changes his mind or makes acceptions even if it means the end of everything

  • when i started watching this movie for the first time from the middle during the prison scene, and i expierienced what rorshach was like, i loved him from the start!

  • @nyjab10 Amen! Jackie is a fantastic and incredible actor. Better than most people think. As a matter of fact, my mom was the one that said to me after she saw this film that he should've gotten an Oscar for this movie. The character of Rorschach is the life blood of this movie and it's nothing without him. :,(

  • Damn. I balled my eyes out after I saw this scene. This is one of the most heartbreaking scenes I've ever seen in a movie. :( Rorschach, though a psychopath was an anti-hero with demons and pain he had sinces he was a child from his horrible life. I can see the pain finally coming to ahead in this scene. OMG. It doesn't make me ball as much like the first time but it still does make me shed lots of tears and have a painful lump in throat. JEH is a wonderful actor

  • i neary cried when rorschach

  • @nunubatman Died

  • I wonder how much people would prefer Rorschach, hypothetically, if it means the difference between them and their children dying (Rorschach revealing the truth) or not (Rorschach dying)?

I mean, it's easy to sacrifice OTHER peoples' lives...

  • rorsarach forever

  • That's a messed up but epic way to die.

  • I see no difference of Rorschach's death between the director's cut and theatrical's cut .

  • @EP1KCAMPER really I kinda liked him

  • he was the only heroe s tht actually do all the heroic sttuuf like investigate other too busy into thems lves he was the most dedicated other are just posing as hero

  • I hated that gay, blue thing.

  • Oh look, a pretty butterfly.

  • 8 people are on Dr.M's side

  • dr.gaybastart shit ass hole i thought its a great movie but just shit

  • fuck dr manhatten and his gay blue ass....Rorschach was the only character in this movie that was cool

  • why the fuck did snyder put nite owl on this scene. nite owl was ready to quit the game and hide under a new alias. it makes no sense to put him here as a sympathetic party.

  • @ElnAlter audience perspective probably

  • @ElnAlter cuz he was probably the only one that really cared about rorschach. which is why he screamed when rorschach was killed.

  • @ElnAlter I know right... nobody was supposed to care that he died... nobody, not as long as the majority was happy....

  • nite olws epic noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo gets *****Stars

  • I understand why it happened, but... DDDDDD;

  • In the end Rorschach was the most human :*(

  • @Mettrone Like Spock?

  • @EP1KCAMPER he made a good freddy its just the movie was shit

  • @TheRonster9319 exactly what i was thinking.

  • @EP1KCAMPER FUCKING DAMN RIGHT YOU ARE >:D

  • My two favorite hero/vigilantes are dead..Rorshache from Watchmen and Big Daddy from Kick-Ass....You cant blame Nite Owl for screaming no...

  • i got so fucken pissed off when he died

  • @BadVoodo0 Like this? 1:31 or 1:35 ?

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH

  • He wasn't dying as himself. In the end he had to turn away, so felt he had lost his face.

That or he was simply begging to die.

  • Look, it's bloody snow angel.

  • Rorschach knew that there was really nothing he could do about anything at this point, the only reason he argued with Dr. Manhattan was because of his ideology to never compromise no matter the situation. And Dr. Manhattan understood with all the power in the Universe you can never control free will of man or any other being.

  • @lattask8er t

    thats deep

  • Love this scene, EXCEPT for the part where night owl falls on his knees and screams.Something about the timing always makes me burst out into laughter. XD

  • Wait...so Dr. Manhattan is almost like God and even states he can "change almost anything".

Well, he could have at least had the courtesy to clean up that huge bloody stain he left behind. Geez.

  • blue guy: i gotta kill you now.

    roarshock: do it.

    (kills him)

owl face: NO WAIT NOW I OBJECT TO KILLING HIM

  • I cried.

  • @EP1KCAMPER What you talking about?!!! Jackie kicked ass as Freddy! Robert Englund will always be the best, but if Robert were to be replaced by somebody, Jackie would be first in line, in my opinion! :)

  • @xSlayerman113x I honestly loved Englund as Freddy but Jackie Earl Haley took the character to a different much darker place. I think people hated the "remake" because it wasn't the dark comedic Freddy that Englund turned into after the first 2 films. Audiences wanted "ha-ha oh Freddy" kind of jokes, got "WTF?!?" kind of Freddy jokes and hated the movie as a result. I loved the film.

  • lol half the movie is night owl falling to his knees screaming.

  • Rorschach has to be bar none - my most favorite vigilante in this movie/comic. He is the most human out of the rest of them, and just would NOT quit doing it is that he does - trying to regulate the balance, keeping the 'monster' - that is society, at bay by being a monster himself. When this was out on theater, people reacted to this scene. Someone angrily shouted "This is Bullshit!" then he, and a handful of people got up and left the theater after Rorschach had been blown to pieces.

  • @WandererKei well they should've read the comic first... plus, i love this part, it really shows how much people are attached to this movie/comic emotionally.
