  • HEY DARKLINGS your a bigot snitch factory of hatred and you love your pale white pasty evil faces WAY too much, fuck you all to HELL!!!!

    --"wicked angel" Amaliya

  • Thumbs up if your reading the original "Dracula" by Bram Stoker while listening to this...

  • @gothgirlforever1998 great idea!

  • awesome song :D

  • UNDEAD UNDEAD UNDEAD!

  • Any one see the Bela Lugosi movie marathon the other night? :)

  • ironically that is not bela lugosi on the cover

  • Everytime I read someone slamming Bauhaus I know all the more that they are the best ever. Some clown is rating the Cure,Fields of the Nephilim and the Sisters of Mercy as better musicians? What a fucking joke, the Cure? I like the Sisters of Mercy but the Nephilim sucked, and the Cure were mope-rock for teenage girls.Friday I'm In Love is the worst song I ever heard. Siouxsie Sioux told fat Bob he should quit songwriting and stick to eating pies! The Cure are over,Bauhaus are undead, forever!

  • @mistomen Not cool. The Cure rule. Face it. :|

  • @PopYaCork They may well rule in your world, not mine. If people want to praise fat Bob I'm sure there are Cure videos on youtube where you can do it all you want. Why come here, this is Bauhaus.

  • @mistomen you go man preach the truth!! but seriously i hate when people do that too. its like because a bad came out 2 months earilier means they get more credit, i think not.

  • @mistomen this is youtube. say what you want. Just let the fuckers literally interpret it to hell

  • @PopYaCork cure are girls infront of bauhaus...

  • Never heard this version before. Nice.

  • DAVID J IS THE MAN!!!!!

  • I don't get how such pointless annoying noise gets to be "oldschool goth" when The Cure, Fields of the nephilim and The sisters of mercy are all FAR better musicians. Daniel Ash is a horrible, horrible guitarist, the drummer and the bassist are by far the most unengaging musicians in history and peter murphy is no different than any other baritone singer. Let me apologise to any fan who might feel offended. I am not saying you are worthless, just your faourite band.

  • @emilecristof OF COURSE......YOU´RE SO BRAVE TO TELL THE TRUTH.....!!!

  • @emilecristof You seem to be talking about the technical aspects; I'm enjoying the textural aspects. Taste is subjective. I checked out a couple of Fields of the Nephilim songs and I think they're horrible, can't stand them- especially their "In the Year 2525" cover. And Sisters of Mercy has a metal hairband guitar sound. So what?

  • Don't like Bauhaus, they are just not my type.

  • HE'S NOT DEAD . . . HE LIVES IN BALDWIN HILLS!

  • This is truly and utterly vampirism!!! Whatever you have seen recently about vampires, it's all bullshit to destroy the truth beyond this race!!! Better saying, TWILIGHT SAGA SCREWED VAMPIRES!!!

  • Still one of my favourite songs ever ever

  • Like this if the movie "The Collector" brought you here!

  • eh, i remember there was a time we tryed to make a cover for this, didn't work though x(

  • Just so fabulous *+*

  • Great! Thanks.

  • my uncle's attorney is Bela Lugosi's son

  • @deadxelvis that officially makes you a vampire.

  • @deadxelvis

    very interesting...indeed...you are fortunate...

    if you can find out:

1: does he find this song to be a tribute to his father? A fitting tribute?

2: does he find his father's legacy/accomplishments as amazing as most of us do?

3: does he agree with me that this song is really a sub-genre of DUB? And that Peter Murphy's lyrics are really secondary to the true wonder of this songs musical qualities?

4: Trolls unite, you only make me stronger...

  • @deadxelvis give him my most heartfelt respects (to the son of Bela). In this twilight ''era'' of ours, we'd need Bela back for another Dracula play to show our youngsters what dracula is made of.

  • @deadxelvis that's nice

  • probable one of the first "industrial" songs, I heard in the early 80's(they put it next to the experimental bin)

  • @hotsauselover

    DUB, it's DUB...

maybe techno, tech-house, or even just house....okay, I guess that makes it "industrial"...but really, in the end...

    DUB DUB DUB

SOME SPOOKY ASS DUB!!! LOVE IT!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @djnodj Holy crap mon, it is dub now that you think about it. Bass lick and a drum beat. Veeeeery innnnnteresting. [7]

  • @djnodj I've been listening to this song for like 15 years. I heard it new again tonight. It's freakin DUB!!

  • @djnodj nah brah this is true goth music

    the real roots of it

  • @djnodj WTF? This is not techno and not even close to ANY sub genre of techno. Not even house! WTF do you get this shit from? Listen to real house, this is not even close. This is rock. (goth to be exact)

  • D-: Bela Lugosi is dead??? O_O ¡¡¡¡NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! T_T

  • Thakyou sooo much for sharing this........ how many plays did this get?????? feckin awesome

  • Goth Talk brought me here.

    I'm the prince of sorrow!

  • Fuck I love this song...

. It's been thirty years and still sounds amazing...

  • ive got ears a bald head wich is a solar panel for a sex machine and eyes that identify now bend over ladies................and think of me cose ur male freinds have donated there bits to oblivion just as well

  • I beast humped my Asian GF to this song LOL....

  • @sneezweez88 I beast humped my black girlfriend to this song! and im white. but still, thumbs up for interracial sex and bauhaus

  • Pretty cool song

  • Why are both top comments by the same litttle twat.

Brought here by some trash MTV show.

Just to post a stupid "Like if (.....) brought you here!" comment?

  • Just what I needed. Abstract guitar? Peter Murphy!! I love how they develop this. Nobody has that kind of patience anymore. Or time. 3 minutes and out, otherwise, it won't get played anywhere OR produced.

  • @SheikhTaqiyyameister true. it's a shame

  • 62 people are afraid of the dark. I love the dark and want to live in it forever.

  • day after day i listen to this, it's just amazing how the passion for what you do sounds after ignited... BAUHAUS FOREVER.

  • excelente!!! nada se compara....

  • Was watching Eraserhead when there came on the soundtrack some incidental music in a scene... not really a song as such but a creepy, decending three note pattern- a lot like this! I may be totally wrong but I did see a band photo where the drummer was wearing an Eraserhead t-shirt. Could that be where Bauhaus came up with this song partly using that creepy background music from Eraserhead as inspiration? Whatever, this song is a masterpiece and Bauhaus is undead forever!

  • @mistomen Eraserhead is such a good film regardless

  • the intro is amazing...

  • i found this old book in my room called "rebecca's realm". this song was in the book, so i decided to check it out and i am in love!

  • this song is very much like black sabbath's song of the same name. that three note pattern - so creepy

  • pre ïnterview with a vampire - full moon candy ass stuff - this is the original

  • saw them live at the cricket ground - tes an actual cricket ground in Northampton - Pete was in a rocking chair!!!

  • Bela's dead? Undead undead undead...!

  • Those guitars. I've never got into "goth" music or whatever but this song is amazing. Maybe the only song that actually scared me the first time I listened to it. Yay!

  • Meilenstein !!!

  • my uncles attorney is bela lugosi's son

  • Oh, Dark Father.....

  • Peter Murphy Rules !!!

  • Sick, dark tune. I wonder what people who heard it back in 1979 thought. I bet none of them ever imagined this song would lead to a whole new style of music!

  • @Belalugosisundead We knew it was the best new music, and yes we did!

  • Jobb lenne "Lugosi Bela halott" és, helyesen, mondani 'Loo-goshi', angolul.

  • Murphy one of the best in his genre with quite a vocal range. This band help set standards not follow them. Pete still rocking today, look for him with Trent Reznor on here. Good care. Undead undead.

  • So poetic~

  • Haters just don't appreciate how many tabs of acid it takes to write & produce a song like this!

  • @schlumbucket None, probably. You're just uncreative.

  • @mmrd123 Who the fuck is Alexa Chung? Old school goth sent me here.

  • @NRPBrute omg old school goth your so edgy and cool

  • @mmrd123 Aren't you cute. Keep listening to what some hack tells you to listen to. I'll keep listening to the music I discovered well over twenty years ago. Oh and if I was trying to really be edgy I wouldn't say old school goth, that would be more like maybe depressed and I don't know....introspective. I don't know. But not really edgy. I almost forgot...it's spelled you're, kiddo. As in "you are". You should have learned that in elementary school.

My parents didn't grow up listening to Bauhaus or anything alike :( But I'm still happy that I'm listening to them today

  • This is from a very good but dark time in my life, but I am so grateful for what I learned during this time! Nightclubs and dancing, along with lots of makeup and hairspray!

  • I named my son Bela. Everyone says this is a girl's name. Bela is a boys name and Isabella that can be shortened to Bella is a girl's name. errrrr. people have to be so lame they have to be told about Bela Lugosi or Boris Karloff. damn. Next thing you know people will need to be taught about Vincent Price.

  • I just got (vampire bites) on my neck now I have to put bela lugos's name below them ..this song made me freak out I heard my brother playing it around halloween,as I was coming into the dark living room,as the trees clawed at the windows..wow...I miss bieng into (darkness),its still in me but I don't show it like I used too!!!love this thanks c-moon

  • Peter Murphy is the Godfather of Gothic rock! :)

  • perfect song

  • I find this song quite boring, actually. But then again, I don't know anything about music and I listen to Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.

  • Check this version

    watch?v=Cjk1DW9Ut3c&feature=related

  • See the movie Ed Wood to see how film director Ed Wood tried to resurect Lugosi's career towards the end of his life. "Pull za strings!"

  • Bela Lugosi was one of the first kings of cinematic horror with films like Dracula Frakenstein and tons of b-rated horror flicks in the 50's and early 60's
