I don't get how such pointless annoying noise gets to be "oldschool goth" when The Cure, Fields of the nephilim and The sisters of mercy are all FAR better musicians. Daniel Ash is a horrible, horrible guitarist, the drummer and the bassist are by far the most unengaging musicians in history and peter murphy is no different than any other baritone singer. Let me apologise to any fan who might feel offended. I am not saying you are worthless, just your faourite band.

Was watching Eraserhead when there came on the soundtrack some incidental music in a scene... not really a song as such but a creepy, decending three note pattern- a lot like this! I may be totally wrong but I did see a band photo where the drummer was wearing an Eraserhead t-shirt. Could that be where Bauhaus came up with this song partly using that creepy background music from Eraserhead as inspiration? Whatever, this song is a masterpiece and Bauhaus is undead forever!
