Does anyone know the egyption like sound that plays as Dragonite approaches the light house? I tried Shazam on my iPod but couldn't identify it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Just re-watched this episode on VHS, has always been one of my all-time favourites. Though I don't recall this particular song being in the episode... unless it was in the Japanese release?
What I mean is it would make sense that it would be Lugia that the Giant Dragonite was looking for since they both make whale cries. Or it could have been Kyogre. It would have been even cooler if it was Kyogre. Also Arcanine was originally supposed to be a legendary Pokemon which would make sense since the different colored tablet with Pokemon on it Ash saw at the Pokemon Center was shaped like Arcanine. Either that or it was Entei.
I found out it was supposed to be Lugia from a friend and Lugia makes the same cry that Dragonite makes in the Pokemon 2000 Movie. They might both be whale cries but it makes sense that both of those Pokemon are the only two Pokemon that make that noise in the show. Also another guy told me he found out from a Pokemon Magazine that Dragonite was originally supposed to be a Legendary but later changed into Dragonair's evolved form which is why Dragonite looks different from Dratini and Dragonair.
This episode made me cry when i was a kid. Just how eager Bill was to meet the Dragonite and how Team Rocket messed it all up, felt so sorry for both Bill and the Dragonite.
there was another song in this episode, when Bill started to talk about this mysterious pokemon (dragonite). I can't find it anywhere! And it was in some other episodes as well! D:
this episode is so good, dam all there newer version seem to be missing a theme too it, i like how the older versions have themes like friendship, good thing i was a kid during those days
hey I just saw the episode but the song when dragnonite appears is way different from this one... any answer? :S I liked more the one from the episode :P where could I find it??
i think it grew big like dratini the pokedex entry in unova says that they keep growing so i think thats wat happend... but why did dragonite get scared it could of hyper beam murdered them... thumbs up if u agree
@300tunes Ofcourse its a legendary pokemon dude! Im not saying its not!
1 They actually said in the episode that it searched for a friend, they never said what sort of friend.
2 Can you prove that he can fly? Maybe he was to heavy like i said!
3 Its true that every pokemon has their avarage size! BUT!!! It has been many times in the show that pokemon can be bigger than its ordinary size! T.ex. Bruno has a giant onix, it was a giant tentacruel in ep 19 and a giant bulbasaur in ep 102!
@300tunes Okay dude! I will make it clear for you!
1 They actuallt said that it was searching for a friend in the episode! They never said what sort of a friend... And it could never find a kyogre! Kyogre is an ancient pokemon!
2 You have any prove that it cant be too heavy to fly???
3 It has been shown many times in the show that some pokem on are oversized! T.ex. Bruno has a giant onix, it was a giant tentacruel in ep19 and a giant bulbasaur in ep102!
@300tunes .... You realy dont get it do you! First of all, ITS A CARTOON SHOW!!!
It has been shown many times in the show that some pokemon are oversized! T.ex. Bruno has a giant onix, It was a realy giant tentacruel in ep19 and a giant bulbasaur in ep102!
@300tunes Maybe... But its shown many times in the show that some pokemon are oversized! Like Bruno has a little oversized Onix and it was a Tentacruel 100 times bigger than its normal size in episode 19!
So its not a legendary pkemon just because its bigger than other normal Dragonite!
@300tunes Maybe... But its shown many times in the show that some pokemon are oversized! Like Bruno has a little oversized Onix and it was a Tentacruel 100 times bigger than a normal tentacruel in episode 19!
So its not a legendary pkemon just because its bigger than other normal Dragonite!
@300tunes Well, all pokemon does'nt realy have an avarage size... It has appeard alot of other "giant" pokemon in the anime... Like Bruno has a gaint Onix, a giant Tentacruel appeard in EP019, Gary has a giant Krabby, a giant Magicarp appeard in EP092, a giant Bulbasaur in EP102, a giant Charizard in EP134, a giant Sunflora in EP135 and many more So i guess that proves that that Dragonite is'nt legendary because of it's size, unless all the other pokemon i've listed up are legendary too:P
@300tunes Well, in the episdoe where it appears, Bill says that it looks for a friend, and it probaly tought that it could find one in the water, and why it did'nt fly... Wel... He maybe it does'nt think that it can find a friend in the sky:P And it does'nt realy "live" in the water, it travels around the world in search for a friend!
i thought that this episode was only a dream!!? i never knew it was real no seriously i thought i dreamt about this Giant Dragonite because i never seen or heard of it since this episode of the first season
This dragonite was supose to be called dragoneye(in japan translated) an it was to be legendary a guardian of something the japanise pokemon yellow game has this pokemon but in the us you cant get it so it ends up as missingno.but like arcainine it supose to be legendary an evolve from a stone the pokemon company just cut it from the episodes an games
I read on Wikipedia that this particular Dragonite was a giant pokemon and also an unknown pokemon before "Mystery at the lightouse", that's why in this episode Bill called Dragonite simply "pokemon"
there is another theme before this one, and it always plays when someone is telling a sotry or a legend, I cant find that theme :S (I like it, it sounds like a mistery and epic song of an old legend xD )
thats a big ass dragonite in the game dragonite is about 7 feet 3 inches tall but that1 is about 20 feet tall why is that one so tall how come all you see is the blackness and its glowing eyes
I'm guessing you never watched the first season of Pokemon? It was a giant lighthouse Dragonite that only came out rarely, it wasn't a normal one. Bill (the guy with Ash), was studying him and then Team Rocket scared him off with missiles or something. Its a little foggy in my memory, but it was something like that.
@MrNommington Nope, it was EXACTLY like that. I'm surprised, I don't usually remember much about episodes from Season 1. Then again, I'm watching them all, one after another, and I'm up to Season 6 :3
This episode is like nostalgia explosion to me, as I'm pretty sure this is the first episode of Pokemon I ever saw, and it was one that really captured the mysterious and intriguing nature that the original Pokemon games had for a lot of kids like me. They were deciding if they were gonna make it a legendary pokemon in this episode. So they made it mysterious and large. Later they decided that it should just be normal size and strong instead of huge like Lugia or ho-oh.
@DJSugar62 I still don't believe Giant Dragonite can be explained by schemes as simple as that -.- He's a true mystery! My inner six year old hates you! :P
