This is splendid! The soloists both play with a "take no prisoners" approach that really works in this piece. They seem to communicate and be well-suited to each other.

And nobody does Brahms like Berlin. They squeeze every drop of drama and expression out of this. Rattle seems like he's just groovin'

Thanks for posting this video. It is one of my favorite videos of one of my favorite double concertos of one of my favorite composers. Mork is a beast on the cello! Love it!

I don't know why, but I have ALWAYS HATED PIZZICATO! Except sparingly used by double basses... weird little quirk. Maybe it was that grotesque "Pizzicato Polka" I had to play in high school.. 8)
