hey man, since you said so much about tabbing stuff on your own, I think it's a great skill!

However I've never had any lessons, so can you give me some piece of advice how to even start tabbing something out ? ;)

Simply put: first, you need to get the main melody right. Just try to play it with single notes.

Once it's done, you add the harmony - chords. I usually put the main melody in the highest voice - I build chords "down" from the melody notes - moving down a minor third, major third or a fourth, depending on what sounds right. ;)

Of course there are more "proper" methods for this - once you recognize the key, you don't have to "guess" the chords, you can just take them from the key - but still, the voicing take some knowledge in music theory.

The simple method I've described above requires only good hearing. ;)
