@joojoosasa Yeah, having the chance to test drive both the Super Sport and SSC, I'd say the $2.5 million Bugatti is all worth it and I'll take it anytime over the $650K Ultimate Aero TT if price is no object. While the SSC has a slight edge over the exterior, IMHO, its interior is inferior (lol the rhyme) compared to the luxurious Veyron.

This car as ALL Saleen's was an under achiever. Steve is notorious for over inflating performance fighures even more so the Hennessey. This car never came close to twit Steves claims. Its still fast a hell and gets off to a great start but SORRY it NEVER came close to the 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and 248 mph he claimed.

It's about more than hp, that is the single most balanced car ever made (and that will ever be made due to the patents on the aerodynamic technologies). Handling my friend is where it's at. It's a racing car, not a drag racer. The car generates it's own weight in down force at 160mph, imagine the handling at 55mph in a turn with something like that.
@salemcripple the z06 and zr1 are not supercars. yes those cars are fast, but being fast alone a supercar does not make. a supercar has a more exotic appeal. and at the end of the day, no matter how fast they go, the z06 and zr1 are still corvettes, which are not exotic. if anything, the ford gt is the closest thing to an american exotic (other than this saleen, of course).

Its weird tho, how americans when they try to make supercars, always fail at selling them. They all have enormous engines in steel tubular racecar chassis, all have huge amounts of HP, all claim best in the wooorld at something or other and all sell 10-20 cars and go out of business. In USA technology seems to be reserved for the army or NASA. They have 2 more or less working cars on Mars. There is no reason to fail at cars on this planet.
In terms of speed yes, I won't deny the SSC would probably be quicker on a track. But in the real world, the Veyron wins hands down. And if you parked an SSC in Monte Carlo, they'd tell you to go away. This isn't me being biased against America - I feel the same way about the Radical SR8.
I have to say, I normally find American supercars very vulgar and disgusting, but this Saleen is actually very pretty. I'd like to see a race between the S7 and the Bristol Fighter T.
Nicker: The Veyron is a tank at over 4000lbs. The power to wieght ratio of the Saleen is better. The only reason the Veyron is quicker from a standing start is because it is all wheel drive.

I agree. American needs to make more stuff like this. It never got made but a car I like even better is the Chrysler ME Four Twelve. It has an AMG V12 with 4 turbo charger's. Diamler who owns Mercedes & Chrysler had a retarded reason for not making it, it was concieved & built very quickly & they had already worked on the SLR for a long time so they didn't wanna put out a car that blew it away for half the price. It had 850hp & weighed 2800lbs!!! looks amazing too
yea I think it would be the fastest right now bcuz it has a lower aerodynamic coefficient than the SSC, & more horsepower than the Veyron. It wouldn't be quicker off the line than a Veyron bcuz it's rear wheel drive but still, it's only 2800lbs so it would be faster around the track. The only reason the 1000hp version of the S7 isn't faster than a veyron (top speed) is bcuz it has a large wing on it. At those speeds something like that can really hold you back plus Veyron has a lower aerocoeff
The only thing great about the McLaren is the BMW engine. Rest isn't so awesome news today. Its numbers have been matched and overtaken by many other cars and I do not understand what, in terms of marquee supercar quality the McLaren has to offer compared to Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche etc. The F1 was, for all intents and purposes, a NUMBERS car and it stopped being the champ long time ago.
That said, I really like the S7. The only American car I have time for.

the TT came out in 05 at the latest. I just remembered the 1st true American supercar (I think) the Vector W8. Ever heard of it? I didn't think of it right away so maybe he just forgot. The 550hp S7 did 220mph & they say the TT can do 248 but if you do the math it doesn't make sense unless they took the REV limiter off & then it'd still be a stretch. The 1000hp version can though. Cool car either way IMO

SSC was created (the entire auto manufacturer) JUST for the sake of the Aero. They make NO other cars. They ONLY wanted to be "the fastest", even if the car has wheel spin at 130+ mph and is deadly to drive.
No traction control, no ABS, no refinement. ONLY recently did they add a stereo / air conditioning.

This car as ALL Saleen's was an under achiever. Steve is notorious for over inflating performance fighures even more so the Hennessey. This car never came close to twit Steves claims. Its still fast a hell and gets off to a great start but SORRY it NEVER came close to the 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and 248 mph he claimed.

It's about more than hp, that is the single most balanced car ever made (and that will ever be made due to the patents on the aerodynamic technologies). Handling my friend is where it's at. It's a racing car, not a drag racer. The car generates it's own weight in down force at 160mph, imagine the handling at 55mph in a turn with something like that.

@salemcripple the z06 and zr1 are not supercars. yes those cars are fast, but being fast alone a supercar does not make. a supercar has a more exotic appeal. and at the end of the day, no matter how fast they go, the z06 and zr1 are still corvettes, which are not exotic. if anything, the ford gt is the closest thing to an american exotic (other than this saleen, of course).

@kvnelvn the ssc has to be considered at least a supercar because of how exclusive, expensive, and fast it is, but i personally could care less about it, anyone can put a million horsepower in a chassis and send it down the road at speeds that "just" beat the bugatti (which is a way better car no matter how you look at it), but in the end it all comes down to what makes you excited, which is the wonderful thing about cars, isnt it?

Its weird tho, how americans when they try to make supercars, always fail at selling them. They all have enormous engines in steel tubular racecar chassis, all have huge amounts of HP, all claim best in the wooorld at something or other and all sell 10-20 cars and go out of business. Im just saying.... the technology and knowhow to produce epic supercars or great family cars is out there for anyone. its not rocket science.
However their focus is 100% on cater-for-all plastic for the masses. Turning around to produce quality vehicles has always been seen as a price they arent willing to pay. Complacancy has, over time, cost them their entire car empire. Simply sprinkling patriotism on yesteryears junk wont cut it anylonger.

Well there is no war for supremacy in the world of performance cars.. 50-60 top end sportscars / supercars are made in Europe and 5-6 are from other countries so I dont want to fire up under that whole silly arguement.
Forexample when 11 people in Sweden can make the Koenigsegg out of nothing then why cant GM, Chrysler or anyone in USA? The technology is available for anyone but they dont want to spend what it costs for quality over there. They NEVER had focus on quality for upper market.

In terms of speed yes, I won't deny the SSC would probably be quicker on a track. But in the real world, the Veyron wins hands down. And if you parked an SSC in Monte Carlo, they'd tell you to go away. This isn't me being biased against America - I feel the same way about the Radical SR8.

Gstreetfee You say that the S7 TTC is the 3rd fastest and i say wrong the S7 TTC is faster than a veyron and and SSC ultimate aero plus it 1000 hp or you can have them tune it to a certain power range this only for competition model they also rework the aero and the brakes if you like now i know someone who has one he told me he did 260 + and he wants to take it to the nurburgring and as for the ME 4 12 i read that this car is being pushed to production but they are fighting with AMG we will see

I agree. American needs to make more stuff like this. It never got made but a car I like even better is the Chrysler ME Four Twelve. It has an AMG V12 with 4 turbo charger's. Diamler who owns Mercedes & Chrysler had a retarded reason for not making it, it was concieved & built very quickly & they had already worked on the SLR for a long time so they didn't wanna put out a car that blew it away for half the price. It had 850hp & weighed 2800lbs!!! looks amazing too

yea I think it would be the fastest right now bcuz it has a lower aerodynamic coefficient than the SSC, & more horsepower than the Veyron. It wouldn't be quicker off the line than a Veyron bcuz it's rear wheel drive but still, it's only 2800lbs so it would be faster around the track. The only reason the 1000hp version of the S7 isn't faster than a veyron (top speed) is bcuz it has a large wing on it. At those speeds something like that can really hold you back plus Veyron has a lower aerocoeff

The only thing great about the McLaren is the BMW engine. Rest isn't so awesome news today. Its numbers have been matched and overtaken by many other cars and I do not understand what, in terms of marquee supercar quality the McLaren has to offer compared to Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche etc. The F1 was, for all intents and purposes, a NUMBERS car and it stopped being the champ long time ago.
That said, I really like the S7. The only American car I have time for.

the TT came out in 05 at the latest. I just remembered the 1st true American supercar (I think) the Vector W8. Ever heard of it? I didn't think of it right away so maybe he just forgot. The 550hp S7 did 220mph & they say the TT can do 248 but if you do the math it doesn't make sense unless they took the REV limiter off & then it'd still be a stretch. The 1000hp version can though. Cool car either way IMO

ANYBODY can make a shell that can do the speeds the SSC can do. Lingenfelter does it for fun, so does Hennessy.
SSC was created (the entire auto manufacturer) JUST for the sake of the Aero. They make NO other cars. They ONLY wanted to be "the fastest", even if the car has wheel spin at 130+ mph and is deadly to drive.
No traction control, no ABS, no refinement. ONLY recently did they add a stereo / air conditioning.
