If the THEORY of Evolution is so grounded in fact, as you say you believe it is there is nothing to worry about. But, if one isn't positive of what they believe, I can see that there would be concern about other ideas being taught. To be denied to teach about ID as a belief that other's hold would be like not being allowed to teach, for instance, about communism because we don't agree with it here in the USA. That, to me, is dangerous because what one does not know, one cannot refute.
Sorry about the school comment, I admit it was a knee jerk reaction. However, I'm now very curious as to your comment about ID being a "conspiracy theory," -- conspiracy against what?
Wow, is this girl a product of the public skrewls or what!?! It's easy to be brainwashed into parroting what your teachers and Profs tell you, it's much more difficult to sift through the facts and decide for yourself. Like they say, wisdom comes with age (hopefully for this kid).
Actually, I've never been to a public school at all, and both the grade school and current college I attended/attend were/are Catholic.
I did sift through the facts on my own. And I found that Intelligent Design is just a well mannered conspiracy theory that's managed to get itself some respect because it's religious.
It is and isn't. When you sit back and look at the stars, you realize YOU came from them, and someday, other things life may come from them.
It does seem awfully well ordered.
But then you think about it and you realize the Earth is set in the middle of a cosmic SHOOTING GALLERY.
And then you realize, these are apart of the same cosmic forces, out of control, but weaving themselves together in a tapestry of order and chaos so well, they can be considered neither.
"one of Darwin's foremost defenders..."they do know that Darwin is dead right?he does not need anyone to defend him,and no one really bothers to.defending science from stupidity is not the same as defending Darwin.
i did a video called"darwin is not atheist jesus" about this.a lot of them think in a very real way that darwin, evolution, and atheism are all pretty much one thing.that darwin is somehow our prophet/messiah leading us to the land of godlessness.i find the idea most comical.
Way ahead of ya.. fortunately I am able to discern the difference between a steaming bowl of bullshit and an ice cream sundae.. but eat up. If you start babbling about Self Sampling Assumptions and Quantum Joe Paradoxes I'll kill a fucking kitten myself..
Hehehe.. Micheal Behe.. you gotta be shittin' me..
The only 'monopoly' Darwin has over the students is a well deserved one from mountains of evidence. And even then, a single, good Creationist argument would overturn the majority of evolution.
There is obvious intelligent design in oil spills. How could all of those trillions of oil molecules just happen to float above all of the water molecules, just by random processes called "physics" and "chemistry"? The chances of that are 1 7.23 x 10^1034! Don't be ridiculous - only an intelligent designer could have possibly directed all of those molecules to stay on the surface.

I don't BELIEVE the theory is grounded in fact, I KNOW it is.
And you're comparing politics to science.
In Politics, all ideas are accepted equally and looked at as truth, because they're view points and therefore subjective.
Science is different. In Science, there IS a right and a wrong. And if something is WRONG, you DON'T TEACH IT.
EX: Did you learn about Flat Earth Theory?
Maybe you heard it, but you weren't TAUGHT it and the flawed evidence FOR it.

I'm not gonna argue on that point because they'll just find a way to refute it on a technicallity.

And one can always discern an intelligent person by their educated use of language.

.. and by their inability to comprehend what a Scientific "Theory" actually is.
Bite me christian soldier.. could your agenda be more obvious? If you have your answer before your question.. you're a dick.
