this would help learn the hand roll and then taking them off and hand rolling would be just a matter of more force being put into the same motion. Seems like a good practice method
Good hand roll try it without the things though. Dont tend to have em with you in a river and putting em on underwater = the breath of a mermaid? lolz.
@kyaker123 I guess it depends on where you are. in the southeast there are tons of handpaddlers, and even more who carry them in lieu of a breakdown paddle.
@bobabc1234567890 here in west virginia on the gauley and new river.. we rarely see handpaddlers.. at all; but it is difficult as to kayaking is, keep it up.

@kyaker123 You do when hand paddling. At some races, there are divisions just for HP (Hand-Paddling)
