  • Was ist das?

  • Can someone tell me how did St. Francis deal with the cold in his feet and hands? Wouldn't he get frostbite? It must have gotten below zero in Assisi since they get harsh winters there.

  • @Mesalonika youtube.com/watch?v=s6woCvONjUU

Little birds singing and 25000 young catholics in silence with the pope in presence of Jesus blessed with His Peace this summer in my country :)

  • @Mesalonika it is ok, many people don't see catholic faith as pure today, the satans attacking of church is as strong as it was in the begining so unfortunately many people are decieved, st Francis was a true catholic, what we see in him is what we are all trying to be, pure Gods children. Today is satans influence strong but there is hope, God is present.

  • @LilyOfTheValley385 When Catholic church was more powerfull, millions of people died. Remmember the Inquisition and Crusades... for me Catholic church are satan himself... and i dont believe in satan..... lol

  • @markoctavio Your belief or non-belief I respect, but please do know that many things done in the name of God are not from God and/or of God. Moreover, and this is not to lessen their crime, the Inquisition killed maybe a thousand persons, and maybe a few tens of thousands died in the crusades.Surely a lot, but not nearly as many as in the wars of the last 100 years...The Catholic Church is about peace, and I do believe Satan is about war.

  • @markoctavio you obviously don't believe in secular historians who now contend the inquisition's deaths. Check out Professor Madison and his latest findings.... or you don't believe in history either? as far as the crusades are concerned....well, if Obama (as a "Christian") invaded Iran, would you say the Christian Church invaded Iran? Of course not! George W Bush does not represent Christianity so you cant say his invasion of Iraq was a Christian one....same as the Crusades; independent Kings!

  • @MikkkkyB what about the nowdays discovered sex crimes committed by Catholic priests?... if you preach that "awesome", and divine religion... how can you do that horrible things?...

  • This looks like a good movie. I love St. Francis. I have his prayer on my wall.

  • This movie is a life changing one. Definitely made me a better person and to become a nurse!

  • i love you st francis...pray for me..haveing hard time atthe moment..

  • Thank you so much for sharing such a marvelous song, a true lesson to mankind..

  • I'm an Athiest, but there are many lessons to be learned from St. Francis

  • This movie changed my life!

  • k abbuurriidooooooo por diohhh k ahhco de video ehh mejor lohh miohh mil vegehh hhe lo ahheguro

  • This song leaves so much to the imagination. Asides from "gods glory." Dreaming of a future built from simplistic mannerisms.

  • OMG !!!

    I Love This Movie !!!

  • @PrinceMyshkin82 Gigliola has indeed a most beautiful voice.

  • Donavan is a deeply spiritual man, and that reads more than any training could give

  • @Pugwee Please don't swear

  • thanks, I love this song. From Spain

  • When Bernado saw how humble Francesco was he decided that he wanted to join the Order of Friar Minors.

    From:

    Imelda

  • This whole movie, with songs, with scenery, with simplicity, with love and with real commitment to the poor and to the Lord...it spoke volumes to me then. Will it continue to do so? I hope!

  • Blessed be the Lord thy God, for God's love is everlasting and God shall provide...

  • If you want to live life free

    walk with Christ in Charity

Do for others as you do for yourself

Pray the holy spirit to guide thee

    Step by step,

    Hour by hour,

    Carry your cross humbly.

    Step by step,

    Faith grows too,

    Gods love will hold thee.

  • Stunning...

  • such dignity, such beauty in the barefeet in the snow! and this scene captures it perfectly.

  • I can´t avoid to feel like shit every time i see this movie... I´m nothing.

    Cry every single time...

  • @lucianofarias33

keep ur small efforts to grow -- day by day, stone by stone...

  • Thank you... I´m still trying... But... So much `Selfish Miseries` to get rid off...

  • @lucianofarias33

i'm sure Pope Innocent III felt the same when he saw Francesco :)

    God bless.

  • me too :)

one of my favourites...always moves me...so simple, so beautiful. S.Francesco and S.Chiara were two of the greatest saints!

    x

  • I'm very well Bernardo!And you?

    :)

  • I have found this book really moving. Especially the part where he kisses the leper. It is a book worth reading once, if not many times.

  • Beutiful simplicity. Wise words in the music.

  • i love when u can see that armless legless girl smile/sigh with such love in her face for francis, and this whole scene is beautiful. anyone who loves francis shud read saint francis by nikos kazantzakis book changed my life.

  • I love the film and the music since i was a child

  • thanks for this. this movie and song is so beautiful

  • great piece of music

  • this song really sends shivers down my spine... so beautiful, thanks for upload

  • I swear. Franco Zeffirelli almost paints with a camera in his films. A true artist.

  • @thegorn68 yes, i agree

  • makes one feel humbled that they accept their lot and yet I for one complain about any discomfort..a true inspiration

  • If you want your dream to be build it slow and surely.Small beginnings greater ends hard felt work grows purely. If you want to live life free take your time go slowly. Do few things but do them well single joys are holy. Day by day stone by stone build your secret slowly, day by day you grow, too.

  • 'heart-felt' work grows purely...

  • @Somaya26 Thanks for writing the letter of this song.

  • @Somaya26

  • @Somaya26 Are you going to Heaven?

  • @Somaya26 "You'll see haven's glory :o)

  • @Somaya26 "You'll know Haven's glory :o)

  • @Somaya26 ...you'll know heavens glory.

  • Pure magic, especially the song and Donovan's voice, the spiritual mind of St. Francis in music.

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful song... we should follow this words once in a while...

  • my director wrote a play about fransis that we preformed in the massachusetes state drama festival, my school came in 9th out of 109 schools or soemthing like that

  • they did :) you can buy it from itunes under donovan I think. I bought mine :D best 10 bucks every spent!

  • Dear St Francis, help us in our time of need, protect the homeless animals and children in need.

  • @christianhirko How dare you... such a thing is an insult to God, Francesco knew and still knows that it is by God's power that love takes part upon the Earth...

  • THE MUSIC IS BY RIZ ORTOLANI who was an experienced and accomplished composer for the screen. AND, there was an Italian soundtrack released.

DONOVAN did the English lyrics and vocals. Others wrote words to Ortolani's music in other languages.

  • I knew that both music and lirics were composed by Donovan, at least for "Brother sun, sister moon"

  • NO molcb76 ~ the melody for "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" was composed by Ortolani. It's part of a whole film score. Please click on the related videos, such as "Fratello Sole, Sorella Luna" where you will hear Riz' melody.

With all due respect... but the folk singer Donovan simply didn't have the training or the technique to be able to do such things. IF he had... he should surely have been in great demand to do more films.

Donovan's contribution to the English-language version was still great.

  • this is a zeffirelli film scene post, not a donovan song post ;)

  • Many years ago! I saw this movie I cry and still cry when I see it! I was 5 yrs with the Franciscans because of it. Now I still miss that life....

  • Bernard is good-looking!

Clothes and the armor of this movie are also wonderful.

  • This film, the music Donovan wrote for it, and the life of Francesco d'Assisi have inspired and comforted me for many years. I'm glad to see this on YouTube.

  • es una de mis mejores peliculas asi lo he puesto en my page
