I've never been to that website and i'm sure i speak for a good portion of the American population. We're not told the number of people who took the survey. For all we know the percentage represents the voters. In which case this would only tell us that mostly atheists go to the USA today website.

1st. The percentages of folks saying they are Christian is down in every state. That doesn't mean the difference are atheists - it could mean that numbers of Muslims and others are up?
2nd. The number of those reporting no religion is up slightly in every state. So. That doesn't mean that the percentage is up. 2% could easily be just an increase in population between surveys. Number of Christians could also be up 2%?

Our senses are not evidence that our experience is correct, and to use that argument exposes some flaws in your thought process. As I said, I think in terms of law-court etc and I do know that the vast vast majority of people out there end up in trouble with courts because they never rebut the presumptions before the court, and usually testify against themselves thereby "proving" the case if you will.

People need to look at these statistics carefully.
1st. The percentages of folks saying they are Christian is down in every state. That doesn't mean the difference are atheists - it could mean that numbers of Muslims and others are up?
2nd. The number of those reporting no religion is up slightly in every state. So. That doesn't mean that the percentage is up. 2% could easily be just an increase in population between surveys. Number of Christians could also be up 2%?

She just makes a quick comment about the wrong camera being pointed at her, then continues by stating that "fewer American's are holding that position these days." (In God We Trust)
Please include that not all Americans are super fundamentalist, young earth creationist, Bible thumping idiots in your report.
And Pat Robertson was an embarrassment to mankind well before his Haiti disaster comments.

2. The second graph is actually a percentage, too.
It's says, "Change in percentage of "No religion" by State between" and then the years, which I can't quite make out.
The first state, Vermont, has a 21% increase.

Good eyes. Until I zoomed in on the video I couldn't make the text out. Yes, it is change in percentage.
I knew the overall percentage of atheists/agnostics was increasing in the US. It is just from what they 'said' the graph could have been absolute number increases.

Not believing should be the default position for every human, and then you DECIDE if you want to believe in one god or another.
It is a sad fact that in the 21st century kids are brain washed in to one belief just because of the family they are born in. We no longer expect kids to grow up and do the same job as there parents.
Why do we allow them to be tricked into believing in the same god?

You are so right. If you want to see the damage done to these kids, go to any evolution related video on YouTube and read the creationists' comments. Talk about delusional. They can't think for themselves. They don't know how. These kids grow up and become a determent to society. Look a the last 8 years under Bush. Christian Fundamentalism was trying to take over our country. What we are seeing now is a HUGE PUSH BACK against them. We got to keep pushing.
