Haha, I remember being seven my mum just got back from the bookstore, I being a child looked through her bags and saw a book with a dragon on it...it was called the hobbit, Read it every night before bed until i finished. About 2 years later my mum and I went to a store and I saw the hobbit game, my mum knew i loved the book so she bought it for me I loved it. Ever since i read the hobbit i have loved fantasy. If it wasnt for tolkien fantasy would be almost non exsistant.
@tomcatvelociraptor yeah I found some levels freaky, especially the spiders. They really creeped me out like mad especially when they but their two front lefts up in a pounce position and glided across the area without moving its legs. I just let my brother complete those levels and then open his save game and then save it again as a different save so I skipped them!
This is the game I grew up with. It had a few glitches and some saving issues but was so fun and entertaining. It's very true to the book and contains alot of original detail.
I've had it since I was about five or six. Now I'm fourteen and I still haven't completed it. I'm finally gonna sit down and spend all my free time on completing this game now.
@upanddowntwice1 Dude, I had the game when I was six, and I loved it. I only got to the wieght lord in flies and spiders. The game messed up my old computer, so my mom wouldn't let me play it, but for christmas this year, (I'm 13) i got a new com puter, and my mom let me play it, and I beat the game in three days. It is still my favorite game.
@upanddowntwice1 Yeah, this game was really hard. I'm pretty much the same with you, started at 5, trying to complete it at 13. When I was a kid, I'd get scared of some levels and had to get my dad to complete them. :P
so wait, what is the full name of the game, cuz i used to have the disk but the cisk reader got jammed s i wanna get it now........can u also include where to download it and the crack and stf or some thing...plz and ty
very good puzzles and i loved the levle were you are n the elf city and you have to use stealth through the whole levle and cant be seen at all really loved it
You're a very good reveiewer, you give almost every single major facts about the game and say weather you like them or not, and why... I have a question for you, um, can you reveiw the game called Aion? It looks very cool for me but i don't know if its worth it yet. :)))
I enjoyed The Hobbit game because it enabled a person to put themselves in the story of Tolkien's The Hobbit, but the adventures and challenges are somewhat changed from the book to make it a new and novel adventure while retaining the spirit and charm of the story.
The reviewer is whining about many trivial and unimportant things.
@nightowl8936 Yeah, I realize a lot of the things I said were trivial, but these things brought the game down for me. No, I'm not a professional. I don't try to be. As a fan, though, I want to give my honest opinion of the games. If very specific portions of the game bother me, I will mention them.
Anyway thank you for your comment. Constructive criticism is very much appreciated.
Hello. Every game you review needs to be judged on its own merits, not compared with other games that have different target markets or different game elements.
The people that were making the Hobbit used a game format that is common to many games. But they had to re-work the game adaptation of the book to make the game fresh and original while offering many of the same scenes and adventures that made the book so engaging and fun to read.
Yes, I think his favorite feature is a hoot as well. I'm sure he can think of many games that "DONT" have that, and that is probably why it's one of his favorite features about the game.
Besides, I wouldn't take everything he says one hundred percent seriously. Of course he's going to favor the gameplay itself over an in-game option that modifies the game's sound.
Not that he would ever read the comments to his video or anything.
where can u download this game ik everything about it please tell me i have this game a long time ago but i lost it i know also his swords name its "sting" please tell me where just send me a message
uh sorry to burst ya bubble, but this is a copyrighted game, downloading it for free would be kinda "cheating" so to say, so yeh, no offsnese, mate, just thats how it is,
I had this for my ps2 and it was really hard. The story was good but like you said very terrible replay value. This game was so hard I had to stop at the Cloud Temple. I think that was near the end of the game. I do not know!
I think this was one of my first games, I loved it, while it lasted. I wanted to replay certain areas or levels, and get all the items and such, but the saving thing (as you said) was terrible. Good review, keep it up!
Yaaaay furry midgets! I really adore the story of The Hobbit. I think it's just because I was told it as my bed-time story, but still. I think I might start playing WoW again. I know that's sorta random, but hey: it's not as random as Evil Mutant Ninja Bunny Squirrels.
You got told The Hobbit as a bedtime story?! O.o so lucky. I wish I was told tales of Arda and Middle Earth. The lore behind Tolkien's world is so massive it's just amazing. I may go into a library and just read it someday.
I guess I WAS lucky to be told it then: it's what got me hooked on fantasy. X-D I suck at finding time to read these days, though... The internet's just so more appealing to me... T.T
What do you mean? There are so many LOTR games. Are you even talking about other LOTR games or just the lore? Lol sorry, I'm just confused on the question.
LOTR is a universe..and to this ALOT of games are release: return of the king, the fellowship, online, the hobbit, and a few really old......so be precise
Well I wouldn't necessarily say this is a good game. It's worth playing but not something out of the ordinary. Playing through it a few times makes it more fun, especially revisitng memories from a few years ago. But the game itself is just okay.
i used to play this game alot when it came out it was fun but i traded it in for spiderman friend or foe i am a fool but thanks for making this review :) 5/5
I have the Hobbit for the Gamecube and saving isn't a problem in that version. I thought the graphics were bad even for its time though.
There were other GCN games that had way better graphics in 2003. Somethings looked good though, like the water in Hobbiton. I haven't beaten it yet, so I'm considering on doing it.
I personally think the only downfall Is the saving system, although the game Is clearly made for 1 player, so I`m not sure If they really wanted to make It the way It ain`t.With 1 player It`s easy to find out your latest save, because It Is the last In the files, and plus, you get the 'continue game' button. Also, about the replay value, I agree, but If you look at your stats, when the level Is completed, you`ll see stuff you haven`t picked up..That IS replay value, because you need to replay.
I'm really looking forward to Left 4 Dead, and can't wait to play it. To be honest, however, I actually got bored of Half Life 2 before I could beat it. It's not the game though. I had so many things at the time going on so I just didn't get to beating it. Sometime in the next few weeks I definately will beat it and review it as well as the episodes 1 and 2.
haha i remember this game! this is the first one-player PC game i actually finished. it was a while ago so i cant remember the details but i do remember that the last boss was way too easy

There is a lot of replayability by finding a lot of stuff and sidequests.
