  • SLOW DANCING IN A BURNING ROOM.

  • Awesome, I have the same guitar! can get some real nice tones out of it. I'm gettin some new klein pickups for christmas, going to sound amazing!

  • GAH...buying a dean ml 9 was the worst choice i ever made in my life..i want that strat sooo baddd...and did the gutiar come in that creamy white...or did it fade into that color over time?

  • @thrashinthursday

looks pretty much the same as when I bought it, I believe it's a 'vintage white'

  • sorry, but hendrix was the best.....

  • nice playing

  • Great sound man ! Can you please let me know what strings gauge are you using ? 9-42 or 10-46 on your strat.

    Thanks a lot

  • @invibaidi the american mades have better sounding pickups and in my opinion the neck and fingerboard feel more confortable. easier for quick movements.

  • @fendordsi ... I agree on the pickups, but I have a mexi and the neck is great on it.

  • Okay! What is the difference b/w American and Mexican? And which one is good?

  • @invibaidi The Americans are better, but for half of the price you can get a used Mexican and put some expensive pickups in it, replace the electronics, maybe a better nut, and put a full size trem block in it and have a better guitar. Then do it again and have 2 nice Strats with different sounds for the price of one American.

  • The fender that is for $499 on Online stores, which is that one? American or Mexican?

  • @invibaidi mexican

  • this is really nice, could you have a look at mine?

  • hes using reverb too..

  • Cool post, nice playing.

    *Check my Strat demo.

  • @tellycastin thanks!

  • There's nothing like that clean Fender tone. Especially if you have the Noiseless pickups on board. That beautiful clean tone with no 60 cycle hum is pure heaven.

  • just wondering about your tone knobs what was it at before and after you changed i?

  • @lynchy4664 I usually stay around 7 or 8 on tone, I have a habit of adjusting them and volume constantly

  • Clean tone, clean ass.. ..I can hear fuzz, Bobby.... but I like it

  • Clean tone, clean ass.. ..I can hear fuzz, Bobby....

  • is that a 12 inch radius?

  • how come the logo is diferent than my mex

  • we have the same guitar!! what amp do you use?

  • is that a mexican or american?

  • @Inc0rupt3ble mexican

  • @chrohm any difference in sound or just the price? I saw both on guitar store in my place.

  • great!

  • hey please help me, i have a standard strat and cant seem to get a bluesy sound from my amp/guitar. the only knobs on ym amp is gain, treble, bass, voume, and master, and where do i put the switches on the guitar?

  • @iDuffdabestweed difficult to answer... try using the neck pickup, tones controls at 12 o'clock to start, master way up, volume down, should get a nice flutey tone with some crunch, or dial donw the master and raise the volume for more clean tone. use the tone control on the guitar if the highs are too much. if you want to add a little texture, an echo/delay, not to high a level.

  • @alish, yes no pedals or anything

  • so this is without using any pedals or effects?

  • that's a really nice tune man! maybe you should post a lesson video on it!

  • You forgot to mention that but of "Lenny" at the end ;) although I guess it could be "waiting on the world to change" too, but we all know where John got it haha.

  • this almost made me cry it was so sweet nice sounds and u should post a vid how to play this i would love to see it!

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent

  • Is that clean channel, or does it have little distortion?? Over drive or something like that? It sounds awesome!

  • @MartinchoLokura it's the overdrive channel with a touch of overdrive

  • this sound is better than what i am getting with my VOXvt 50

  • What pickups are you using?

  • @ForceofHabitMusic He's using Fender Tex-Mex Pickups.

  • Awesome. That stuff makes me wanna sell my les paul and get a strat :)

  • @celgaard - YOU NEED BOTH...KEEP YOUR LP AND BUY A GOOD STRAT AS WELL.

  • oh god..

    what a great tone

  • I have thousands in guitars, amps... and THAT tone you get here is really amazing. nicely played!

  • removed pickguard? god's sound!

  • @oOFirefaceOo he's still got a pickguard on there it's just white like the guitar

  • whoa, that sounds so good, makes me realize that i got alot more to learn lol

  • Some people can coax a good tone outta any amp. Nice one mate.

  • Sweet tone. I'd trade my current guitar for a Strat.

  • Wow! This is the first I heard of this song. You're great! I have a new song to learn. Thank you!

  • The Fender Strat + Fender pro junior amp + Blues riff = nice sound. That's what I got.. :D

  • Nothing beats a clean blues tone from a fender strat

  • Soulfull playing, superb tone => 5*'s

  • romance

  • i want that guitar

  • great!!!

  • Holy! Absolute fantastic playing and tone...btw, that guitar is a real sweetie...must get one...!

  • obviously not a crap amp cos good tones can be had from it

  • You make that little amp sound like a Two rock mate! Really great! That's what makes a good guitarist!

  • where did you find these tabs, or was it by ear? ultimate guitar doesnt have these tabs i dont believe

  • +1 on telecasterman18 and spacemanGoldie's comments. Your playing has soul. Keep on.

  • The amp sounds like crap but nice playing!

  • stevie-best blues player ever. not the greatest songwriter musically though.

    hendrix explored the cosmos.

  • I think you need to rewire your strat with some shielded wiring dude. It'll help that static issue big time. Did it on mine, at it was well worth it!!!

  • I'm diggin the vibe and feel of your playing. That's what's it's all about.

  • what amp/effects are you using?

  • Beautiful touch mate, it's a pleasure to hear somone on YT with natural talent!!

  • WTF, this is so sweet. you are amazing

  • That's a stupid list. Where's Eric Clapton?

  • @PhilipK100 hahaha your insane

  • sweet technique- what do I hear at 0:29?Pickgaurd static? Any ideas on how to solve the problem?

  • Yes... Check the grounding cables or even replace them and Shield the pickup cavities... there is a lot information about that on the web...you could use copper or even those alumnium duct tapes...

    RJ.

  • Nahhh, that's YouTube server static. Frre with every upload. This guy did great!

  • im so confused, i dont know whether to get this (that has tex mex pickups) or to get a roadhouse (that has texas specials) help anyone ?

  • well both guitars have they're advantages but personally i like texas specials for the stevie ray vaughn blues stuff it works with all blues

  • @RichieBullock I'd get the roadhouse, texas specials sound better to my ears.

  • Beautiful tone and lovely feel - good work mate

  • Thank you for your great style, feel, and tone! Great emotional connection! Stop by and compare styles if you'd like...

  • Poplar Wood , Tex Mex Pickups , Great Signature Jimmie Vaughan;

  • why are we even comparing musicians? each one of them have different styles which makes them what they are! anyway strats are awesome, and i definitely respect this fella for putting his soul into playing it:)

  • I love your tone , very nice , nice playing as well , and I just want to add , Music is not a competition , music comes from the depths of the players feelings , so really how can you compare one mans feelings and how they portray it , to another persons way of portraying his , if you enjoy it , than thats it , if not you dont listen very simple, what is with all the comparisons , I just dont get it , I am a musician , and nothing bothers me more , than being compared to , nice job chrohm

  • Nice tone!!

  • I have that same guitar :D

  • Great sound man, and excellent playing

  • John Mayer, SRV. They are okay, i guess. This is clearly way better than anything either of them could have played!

But seriously, fender guitars are decent.

Say hello to fender sound, and good bye to gibson! Bye

  • Are you kidding me? SRV is as good as Hendrix!

  • Nah, Hendrix sort of enhanced blues guitar, made it more rock-based. But they have different styles, so I can't judge.

  • I agree with that, but I'm not sure that has to do with their skill level like I mentioned. I believe Hendrix was the far better songwriter(one of the best of all time). They both played with great emotion, but technically(not in terms of innovation)I think SRV was the best.

  • Hey, buddy (rude, sort of scolding manner)! Without them, I don't think he would ever be playing these licks! And they improvise most of their stuff, and write it. Learning it and dancing around the main riff isn't a big accomplishment. John and Vaughn are legends, hands down. They contribute/ed to blues guitar playing so much, and therefore, you cannot say that!

  • agreed!

  • well done, good tone

  • thats was the coolest thing i have seen in awhile, well done

  • why is it so short... ?

  • soulful...

  • fucking beautiful playing

  • mexican one it seems

  • Awesome.

  • Fuckin nice yeah

  • Oh baby!

  • Very nice tone!!!

  • gold fingers there... wich amp again? 15wats bullet reverb? dont know it.

  • Love your playing.....you work that strat nicely. Great tones from your playing!

  • More proof good tone comes from taste and fingers...

  • yeh thats cool mate nice one

  • you rock the mayer licks

  • Comment removed

  • Totally agree. This amp kicks as. This clean is almost more beautiful than an acoustic guitar! \o/

  • That's the best "crappy" amp I've heard in a while! I've got TexMex pups in my AM Standard and play through a Princeton Chorus and still don't have a glassy tone like that.

  • @Slugg0matic

With a guitar like that and a half decent player it's going to sound good regardless unless the amp was a line 6 Spider.

  • @Slugg0matic whack the presence right up!

  • Nice sounding 15 watts crappy amp!

  • Nobody could ever recreate that fender tone!

  • @AROD553

    What about Schecter?

  • @AROD553 well they actually did. In Japan. JV Strats are amazing in their likeness to the original Fenders.

  • Top tone brother.

  • Sexy tone man. Loving the Mayer licks.

  • I have an American Standard strat that cost me well over $1000 and I can't even come close to your tone. WELL DONE!

  • hbugw, you need to take it back or get a good amp!! You spend $1k on a guitar and your not happy? Take it back you mug!!

  • been listening all day ... damn, the sound is just amazingly beautiful.

  • I love this guitar! .. serously, all the other guitars are a bit over the top if you ask me. It's like women wearing too much make-up. But this guitar, if you're good at making music, it'll go all the way.

  • Nice sound partner...Good vibe...I picked up on that "Lenny" riff by the great Stevie Ray Vaughan...

  • I think that's the best sound I've heard anyone get out of the tex-mex pickups... nice!

  • dude this was an inspiring vid. ill be sure to use it in a song i write

  • It's slow dancing in a burning room by john mayer. don't use it. haha.

  • Its a mex strat, it says in the descriptions

    It would cost around $500-$600

  • sounds very rich, congratulations on your guitar!

  • I have had a JV Strat for over a year now. I play it thru a Fender Super Champ. This video really captures the sweet tone of the JV. I chose it over a USA Strat. It's an excellent guitar!

  • is that a 1973 model strat?

    I'm getting one of those.

  • How much? And where?

  • 1500 and in ballarat australia.

  • Sounds Great!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Amen!! You're one of the few here on You-Tube who doesn't find it necessary to distort the hell out of a Strat's tone!!

It sounds amazing...even through a 'crappy little 15 watt ' amp!

    You got the goods...kiddo!!!

  • sickning... utterly disgusting... im amazed

  • Very nice playing:) love your feeling in the blues, makes it all worth listening to. Thanks for the insperation to keep playing:)

  • Nice tone and feeling!!

  • Sounds better than my Marshall 10W amp. I use that amp when my computer is slow downloading or finding out what key the song is in.

  • loved it.

  • sweet, you feel blues ;)

  • Nice man, like the guitar? Wondering about buying one!

  • nice john mayer playing

  • put in some cs '69's and get a fender blues deluxe amp.

oyur tone is going to be killer.

  • mmmmm

  • very good!

  • ive been wanting to figure out how to get this tone

  • love the tone...sounds great

  • is it me or this strat sounds less incisive and softer than the 50's classic player one ?

    anyway , i love the tone . velvet-like ;)

  • musicman978. Yes, It is possible. You could just put Texas specials on the top two and leave your humbucker in the treble spot. or just buy a new pickup guard made to hold all 3 Texas specials and just use your tones and volume knobs and toggle switch with the specials. Just get a standard 60's wiring schematic to make sure you have it all connected right.

  • is it possible to put texas special pickups on an american deluxe stratocaster hss (fat strat) ? if not, what are my options? thanks :)

  • nice playing man...love the tone!

  • I've been testing out new guitars lately and that is the EXACT song I've been using!

That and I play a very lick filled version of Vultures.

I dropped my Strat off a balcony... Don't ask.

  • Lovely!

  • Don't know the original version of this tune but it sounds great, even through a "crappy" amp. Nice playing, keep 'm coming

  • ditto to that !!

  • how much do these go for? Is yours all original?

  • wow, there is a severe moral decline in this website... justin33090 get reall what are you the king of whats cool. who cares who makes it it sounds good.... so leave it or do somthin better wich you probably cant...

  • for the switch, are you using the second position down from the neck pickup (the switch position that uses both the neck pickup and the middle pickup)?

  • I'm pretty sure I used just the neck

  • you can see the switch in the video, its just the neck pickup

  • please wher did you get the tab for this sounds great!

  • I wish I had a better ear for tone. i know what I like, I love it when I plug into an amp that diled, I just don't know how to tune them in to get what I want.

  • whats the settings on your amp?

    sounds great man

  • ive got that guitar too, its amazing

  • sweet!!!!

  • nice

  • Oh, what a sweet tone... I've got the same guitar, brought her home two days ago and I just can't get enough
