This is the first ever game, that I encountered, which had a full orchestral score (as opposed to midi, other electronic music and stuff like that). Of course Medal of Honor, which was released the same year, gained all the glory and Giacchino is now an Academy Award winning composer. But the guy who composed the H&D theme deserves some proper credit as well!
It depends : in H&D 1, the enemies had better reflexes and better shooting skills : they could actually spot you if you were standing in the open at, say, 300 meters, and they would shoot at you. If, after that, you went prone, they would keep firing, with a slightly decreased accuracy.
The KI was so good they shot you from 50000meters distance with one or if you had luck 2 hits. Dunno how it was in the english version but in our there were just backpacks of killed soldiers.
THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Been looking for this theme for years in need of nostalgic shivers and now I finally got them, and hell they surely were big ones. Thanks, PezzWezz!
@bienvenidoz No Problem, I felt the same way so i set out to make a video myself. Ive been meaning to try to do the song from when you beat a mission but i have had no time at all but i will attempt at it this weekend :)
Not sure. The original game itself doesnt really want to work on new computers. Ive had luck with other old games working with Windows 7, maybe HD is one of them. I can look when i have time.
Yes, great game. Loved the first mission - crossing the railway bridge -- you just felt COLD and WET. Blowing the refinery was a good one. Freeing the prisoners from the disabled train was tough. Blowing up the railway yard was tough one -- all in the dark. The mountain pass and getting into the base in winter made me feel COLD -- those twilight-gray skies of Norway. Freeing the prisoners in the mansion and garden was a tough one. Trying to defend the last attack at the PBY seaplane was tough.
Great game and a fantastic musical score. Some of the missions, as impossible as they may seem, are based on true stories. In fact all the missions have some pertinent truth.
classic game. its an old game but still good fun. did you know you can download hidden & dangerous deluxe for free at gamershell? its probably that old its not being sold anymore
Yup i found that out one day but i still think the original CD is better then the Deluxe. The Deluxe is the same to a certain extent but good i might add because it has multiplayer!
primary goal is to eliminate the 2 hostile guards

Commandos and Hidden & Dangerous are absolute the best "WW2" games ever.

Back when the Krauts could aim correctly and could see you standing at 300 m on flat ground.

Yeah, I agree with Jesusmcjimmy, you really should do that music too, if, and only if you can.
Do you have an old machine with which to run it off? Or maybe a copy of the Deluxe Edition?
