  • Hey, can you put boiled water in the distiller to make it more energy efficient (reducing time it takes to heat up the water)?

  • @mycomputerfund, yes, I put hot water in it to speed it up a little. I want to get the distiller to run off of solar panels. There are a few kits out there that will run small appliances.

  • can this be used to distil alcohol ?

  • this guy whistles like a tea pot when he talkes.. good vid. just couldnt take the whistling

  • " H2O the purist form of water" .... no shit Sherlock .you idiot

  • @oldskoolcool1983, hey shithead, I'm referring to water from the tap that most people think is H2O which it is not, it has other crap in there like accumulating rust and sediment from the pipes.

  • apparently, adding a 1/4 of a teaspoon of natural sea salt to the distilled water should replace trace elements and minerals, as well as raise the ph. the minerals you get in tap water and spring water contain in-organic minerals which clog arteries & are not properly usable by the body according to Dr Norman Walker. Getting your minerals from raw fruit/veg is best because they will be organic minerals which are properly used. Also, the juice/water in fruit/veg is also technically distilled.

  • @freakzilla3333 when i say natural sea salt I mean flakes of real salt from the sea, (not table salt or rock salt, those are bad).

  • @freakzilla3333, kosher salt FTW

  • How much does it costs? if we boil the water isn't the same,

  • @TheMrAlexrj, it's about 180 on Amazon. There is a link on my blog page. Boiling water will kill bacteria and viruses, but leaves the sediment and minerals.

  • What about the health risks associated with distilled water?

  • @dtz1000, I'm not aware of any. What health risks do you know of?

  • @HealthyNactive There is a report produced by the World Health Organization called "Health risks from drinking demineralised water". If you google the title you will find the report as a downloadable file along with many other links to other info on the subject.

  • @dtz1000, where do you get your drinking water from?

  • @HealthyNactive, I use a Brita filter with tap water. I'm very happy with it.

  • @dtz1000, why are you using a Brita filter?

  • @HealthyNactive, There's several reasons why I use a brita filter. It gets rid of most heavy metals and organic stuff you find in tap water and makes tap water taste better.

  • @dtz1000. If you look through the comments, others have mentioned their opinions for distilled water. I've been drinking it since the early 90'ies, guess I'm going to have a health issue someday. I'm not going to change either, especially when you look at the bottom of the distiller. I get my vitamins and minerals from the fruits and vegetables that I eat every day, not from the pipes from the local water supplier.

  • Thank you. I'm just starting my query about water distiller and the health benefits. Your review is helping in my decision process about choosing a unit.

  • @mholub7825, glad you found it informative. It is a small unit and really good for one or maybe two people. There are larger distillers from this same company. You may also want to think about setting it up to run on a solar panel.

  • how much was it and how much does it cost to use (electric)

  • @magnusalexa, I got if from Amazon. It was about 170. I am thinking about running it from a few solar panels now. Amazon has some small ones that will run this unit and you can use the outlet to charge other electronic devices.

  • @HealthyNactive i'm buying one off net soon, im on economy 7 electricity, cheap rates from 10pm till 4am, so will use it then, ive also heard these distillers give off a bit of heat, so will probably use in one room to save heating bill in that particular room too. I stopped using tap water in England UK 1.5 months ago, buying natural mineral water bottled from wal mart, if i run out and use tap water now gives me bad stomach and kidney pains. need a distiller fast

  • @magnusalexa, you can look into a small solar panel that you can use to run this unit in the future, that way it will not cost you anything. Once you drink this water, it's hard to drink anything else. I even taste metalic substances in the bottled water these days. Tap is out of the question, especially with the build up inside of the pipes.

  • @HealthyNactive hope ya not putting the water into an aluminum container when you go MTBing, in the UK the govt linked them Navy aluminum water containers with senile dementia, and if ya MTB drinks container is plastic will heat up in sunlight which releases so some sort of dodgy chemical. My Granddad engineer always told us lot stainless is the best metal around, only just realised to what extent.

  • @magnusalexa, I use a camelbak when I go mtb'ing. Sometimes a plain plastic water bottle on short rides, the water does not stay in the bottle too long.

  • I suppose you also drink pure grain alcohol? Gotta protect the precious bodily fluids.

  • @nerdpoke, that's what I put in my car. It also mixes a good martini

  • Drinking distilled water can cause mineral deficiency. Not because you need the minerals from the water, but because it absorbs the minerals from your body as it passes through it. Then there is the appalling waste of energy that goes into distilling all the water you drink. Environmentally, this is highly problematic.

  • @pftyea the body gets plenty of minerals from food

  • @pftyea, you can run it from some small solar panels which I will probably setup in the near future. That way, it would not use any electricity from the grid. And like other have stated, you get vitamins and minerals from the fruits and vegies that you eat. If someone doesn't eat them, it's their problem.

  • great video, the way you pronounce your "S" bothers me though

  • @ostyman09, sorry about the pronunciation. I know that I do not have a very good speaking voice.....

  • @Pandamonia, your right, no one has ever mentioned that I have a lisp in real life. Just when I record on video or through a mic for some reason.

  • I have one actually two but the one I use is a 240V unit used at 120V so it is inaudible and it takes longer about 24h for one gallon off water but is fine it will work non stop but is silent and one gallon is fine for two persons.

I must make a video on how the sediments look.

  • I just got one of these, I really enjoy clean wanter... I think it tastes good. This is better than store water because it doesn't sit in a plastic jug for any amount of time. Very good unit IMO, were I live the city dumps sodium fluoride in our water. I read a health Canada study that said only 5mg of that crap is enough to make you very sick. 5-10 grams will produce death. I haven't tested it out on humans or anything.... that's just want I read. I fear old pipes too.

  • @qlcmusic, glad you like it, I still fill up my camelbak with the water from this unit. Wouldn't fill it with anything else. I looked at my water district website and they state that they do not add fluoride to the water. Still, the pipes are bad... Just wait till you see the crap that collects at the bottom in a few months.

  • @donna4255, Hi donna, thanks for the tip. The unit came with some cleaner that I have used once. I'll try the vinegar soon as I need to clean it out. The stuff in the bottom indicate that my pipes are really old and corroded.

  • I am thinking of buying one of these the 100CC model which is a stainless steel rather than plastic outing. I want to know what the difference of this distiller and the " Purewater Distillers " Since the pure water distillers are about 500$ and these only around 180$. What is the difference? They are both Counter distillers and i think the "Purewater " brand--destills the water in maybe 1-2 hours faster. Is the more expensive brand "Purer" or just better quality? Thanks.

  • @CoolConejo. The one that I have distills one gallon of water in about 2.5 hours. (When starting with hot water). I believe it was just over $200 from Amazon. (There is a link to the product from my web blog) I'm not sure what the difference is between the $500 one's and this particular model.

  • the water tastes totally different - clean and fresh,.

saves yourself arthritis, too which is often due to the minerals that build up in your joints from mineral or tap water... .

  • @SovereignBeing, glad your enjoying the H2o...

  • ..no-where in the documentation is it mentioned, which leads me to believe that it does indeed contain BPA because if it didn't they would most surely point that out as a feature. 3 - and this only applies if you have the plastic jug - it's polycarbonate which contains BPA and the water is hot when it drips into it. Heating plastics cause BPA to leech faster so even if you have the glass jug you're going to be getting BPA. I'd like to see a completely stainless steel design.

  • I bought one of these - not happy with it. For one - on the inside of the lid of the boiling chamber, there is a hole cut into the stainless steel where the steam leaves the chamber and goes into the condensing coils. However, the hole is too big so it exposes plastic (not much, but still too much) to the boiling chamber. 2 - after the condensing coils the water, still hot, passes through plastic, and then passes through plastic in the filtration unit. There is no guarantee of BPA free plastic..

  • @MrSmibby, if your not happy, return it. I would rather drink water from this unit than from any faucet any day. I have a glass container, not a plastic one. Have you ever drank water from a plastic water bottle? Many of them do not state BPA free. Do you ever eat any products from the store that are wrapped in plastic? Do you put the veggies at the produce department in a plastic bag?

  • @HealthyNactive True - by the way I didn't buy it from you. I was just commenting on my thoughts on this brand. Also, I don't know who is linking to my comments...

  • @HealthyNactive Did you know that cancer cells grow 2x faster in a plastic test tube than they do in a glass one?

  • @HealthyNactive How bad is bathing and wearing clothes washed in chlorine/heavy metal/sodium fluouride water compared to drinking it? Can you litterally bath in distilled water or is that overkill compared to the benifits? And how do you get around GMO, mercury laced, steriod injected, bpa wrapped, etc food without limiting your diet that much? A little limitation in the diet is okay but what foods could you recomend?

  • @shirmanrebel, eat organic, plant fruit and vegi's in your backyard, breed some hens.

  • @MrSmibby Its the same problem with electric kettles here in the UK You can get a stainless steel or glass kettle but almost all of them have a stupid plastic lid I often wonder if its a conspiracy

  • @ahamatmabrahman I think it is definitely a conspiracy. I have yet to see a completely stainless steel model from start to finish. Basically they want people to switch from Fluoride to BPA.

Yes, it's all a conspiracy. I agree. I think I might make my own pure stainless steel distiller and sell it with only a glass collector jug. They sell the glass collector jugs for 50 dollars...lol?

  • @MrSmibby It might be very interesting to see what happens when you try manufacture something like that I got an all stailess steel electric kettle in India for 240 rupees, it can be used here in the UK, having said this it doesnt cut out whem the waters boiled so you have to watch it I also have a stainless steeel whistling kettle for use on the gas/electric stove ( I don't trust my kids to watch the electric kettle ) made in China. Warmest regards from the UK

  • @MrSmibby Cont I forgot to mention my copper samovar from Russia, its very big and was a God send on a couple of occasions when our central heating /hot water system broke down and we were waiting for the engineer to order parts and fix it . Copper is also a very nice metal for water/food preparation

  • @tiatdivad, thanks for the info. I know that the system is not perfect. I can honestly say that the unit does a pretty good job.

  • @HealthyNactive But is this type of water filtration cost effective? Seems like it uses a lot of electricity just to make one gallon of water.

  • @Resistoon, it does use about 3+ hours of electricity to produce only 1 gallon of water. I've looked into some small solar panels that can run this unit on it's own, but haven't got around to buying and installing yet. Instead of looking at it from a cost perspective, you can also look at it from a health perspective. How much is your health worth? If you see the sediment left behind in this distiller, you will not care about how much it costs in electricity to run it.

  • @HealthyNactive Its important to consider the cost be cause water is one of the 5 material elements and these should never have been sold, no one should be excluded from getting pure water due to their financial status

  • My ninja, idk if you have seen Flow but check it out. Support clean water for all people it is our life source and we can't have crap in it. One love

for some reason I could not attach a link so go to google videos type in....Flow the Movie it should be the first link it has a picture of a spic-kit. Enjoy

  • Great video. The arguement that you lose minerals from distilled water is also faulty because the minerals that's in our water is artificial and our body doesn't absorb it easily so distilled water is A LOT healthier for you.

  • does it take out hormones?

  • thx for posting this vid. i just bought a distiller. i am really proud of that unit.

  • For those that like tea. Distilled water allows the true flavor of the tea to come out. We have the same unit and I can taste the difference between tea made with distilled water and water straight from the tap.

  • Hi!

Thank you for the great vids you've done and in depth analysis for Mtb community. I've really enjoyed them! From one CA. Mtn.Biker to another I just wanted to urge you to do a little more research on distilled water. My College Professors, Doctors, and Nutritionalists all indicate that it is not good for you because it strips important makeup from your chemestry. After much research I decided to go with RO Water. I don't have any conclusive evidence as I'm not a scientist. Nice Work! =)

  • @WarbirdPylonRacer, hi and thanks for your insight/comment, I respect it. I am no scientist so people can make their own decision weather distilled water is right for them. The human body is approximately 60% water which is made up of two part hydrogen and one part oxygen (H2o) and that is exactly what you get as a final product with this system. Some people say that you do not get essential vitamins and minerals from distilled water, but you get them with the fruits and vegetables you eat.

  • does this remove flouride? And chlorine?

  • @k12rising, the closest thing on the instructions is 'Chemical Toxins' and lists Insecticides, Pesticides and Industrial Solvents. It does not list Fluoride / Chlorine. May need to contact the manufacturer for those two.
