  • there cars shuld get towed n a hevey fine 2 get them back if i was pushing my pram down there the cars will have no mirrors or paint

  • 0:35 is a prick :P

  • Quick before they look slash there tires!

  • If anyone deserves to get a ticket it is these selfish tossers.

  • WITHOUT WATCHING; because otherwise they will block the road..

  • @stuanemma They shouldnt be parked there at all.......There is a yellow line AND yellow bollards there.

  • Is it just me or are those cars parked on a single yellow line?

  • @schneil yes,The yellow line means there are parking restrictions on that road, usually restrictions are no parking between 8am and 8pm, if its before or after that time it is legal to park there. But if they do need to park on the pavement they must leave more room than that,

  • the car park there is always packed!, it' was never meant to be able to cope with all the students that have cars, so that is why they are parked on the pavement ... i remember when the warners cinema was here instead.. such a shame it's not anymore.

i'm not saying it's right, but the video is a bit misleading, anyone who knows this area knows the car situation around shieldfield, there isnt room for cars, never mind the commuter parkers also

  • Please don't put that 'fast-foward' sound effect in any more videos.

  • I mount a Youtube 'street watch' on a particular street on a regular basis- pavement parkers will be videoed until they stop doing it. So far, it is going good! None on the road yesterday.

  • ahahahahahahaha I LOVE HOW THE ANSWER STARES YOU IN THE FACE!!! CROSS THE STREET!!! duh.... But it is fuckin annoying when cars park on the sidewalk

  • Because the 1993 Traffic Act differentiates between Greater London (where all pavement parking is illegal) and elsewhere, it gives the impression it is OK to park on the pavement outside London, and even the police seem to believe this. IT IS NOT: the 1835 Highways Act (section 72) makes it an offence to drive any animal, truck or carriage on a path "set aside for the use of foot passengers". This law is often invoked against cyclists (quite rightly), but seems to be ignored for motorists: why?

  • @ampy1950 - Living outside London, motorists think it is normal to park on pavements - that's why I video it to raise awareness

  • Stay green. Stay in the woods. Stay safe.

  • also us United States people might not know what a car park is so put in parenthesis (parking lots)

  • @metrev117 or any U.S. viewers can just google the unknown text, if you hadn't realised it, that's how you learn from the web (incidentally, many Americans are seen as ignorant, just saying, not accusing you of it).

Highlight the text then right click and choose 'Search Google for [highlighted word].' Even lazy people like me learn a lot this way!

  • Just because cars have a problem finding a parking place, it's no excuse to make it someone elses problem, peds, cyclists etc.

There would be uproar if I parked my cycle blocking a pavement. Can you imagine?!

  • People park on the pavements because most of our stupid victoian roads are too narrow, and our roads are also a disgrace - full of pot holes, cracks, patched up trenches. No good for bikes, deathtraps, these are the "real problems"

  • @undergroundman07 - they park on the pavement because often they want a big car to 'flaunt their status' ((even though they could have got it on HP), they should get smaller cars. Heavy vehicles and speeding vehicles are causing an immense amount of potholes. Motorists need to get of the pavement so we don't have to pay for even more tarmac than we already are.

  • We call them sidewalks and its totally illegal to park on them. No one does on account of the curbs, except for motorcycles. BUT cars will park on bike paths all day long. I drives me crazy. What worse, after parking in a bike path these numbnuts drivers will open their doors without even checking for an approaching cyclist. They usually have a cell phone glued to their ear too.

  • Same problem where I live. Got fed up one day that I photographed the cars with the time and date and handed the images to my local police station the next day. Suffice to say, few cars have parked on the pavement since.

  • I've just taken a photo of a van. It always annoys me on my paper round when I have to walk around it. I'll do what you did!

  • @nastyashman What, the police actually did something? I could photograph traffic infractions all day here, but the police don't care. Neither do the drivers, selfish knobs.

  • @Saighton. Surprisingly enough, yes they did. The local Police station here is very helpful with friendly officers who don't automatically dismiss you if you have a problem.

The Police aren't exactly portrayed in a positive light in the media and in some places they seem more interested in sitting in a layby with a speed camera than doing anything else.

As long as you have the date and time on your photos, then there is no reason for them to ignore it.

  • @nastyashman - thanks, have programmed my camera with the correct time and date.

  • @nastyashman - well done.. I may start taking individual photos. Though some of the police did say 'we have better things to do'.

  • i know this is kinda bad but scratch the car!

  • put a bomb in the car and when the car start it explodes. They won't park there EVER again.

  • POLY TIL I DIE!

  • i agree, key them all!!!!!!

  • just "accidentally" key the shit out of all those cars....

  • @immuki Fuck you cunt, if i ever found any one trying to key my car i would crack their head open.

  • @B4GR1X Then you would have fun explaining why your car was keyed, and subsequently paying for the injuries you incurred.

  • @B4GR1X Keep your car off the "foot"path then. There's a clue in the name I've highlighted it for you.

  • @10lx the same could be said about people crossing the road,

  • It seems to be in most Countries Parking on Pavements. In Dublin in the Centre of the City they are more inclined to Penalise Motorists with Tickets and then if they are not moved off Quick enough eithered Clamped or Towed to the City Carpound. But it depends where the District is and if it is in the Suburbs they mostly dont Bother.

Where I live the Roads are Narrow in my Housing Estate and everybody Parks half on the Pavement as they cant Park on the Road if they have no Driveway.

  • Both Medway and Gresham in Kent have Fines and CCTV for anti social motorists but other councils in the area, appear, not to have followed suit.

  • Its the expense of hiring the staff at the CCTV center 'pod. The fines only just cover the expense, sadly so they tend to just be installed in the really bad places.

Most of the road cctv here in southampton is simply traffic management to keep things running as smoothly as possible.

  • Let's get the Cowboy Clampers on to them.

  • Some motorists parking on the pavements are actually parents!

  • Yes, they keep going on about cyclists going on pavements but more cars are on pavements than cyclists! I am tackling it with Kent County Council..

  • I filmed the same thing last year and people got nasty about it (on the web). They are in full control of how they drive and how they park so I'm not adverse to reporting trouble makers despite their whinging.

I knew a guy who would batter a pavement parked car when pushing his buggy. Wing mirrors are more expensive to replace thesedays though, LOL

  • I report motorists parking illegally on Fix My Street, that way the Council has to do something. In Kent they have a couple of Anti Pavement Parking Campaigns but only in a few towns.

  • Lovely Video.. oops I clicked Poor Comment but should be Good! Let's target these anti-social lawless motorists.

  • It is odd how people on Youtube are very happy that motorists behave badly. What kind of mentality is that? Generally if a motorists behaves really badly and I have videoed it, I tend to report it to the police. The police moan if we don't tell them about the issue and then the victim moans about his human rights. I always carry the local police number with me just in case I get some loser motorist.
