  • I'll love it when I'll be 69

  • I like this version so much better because the movie made it look like fergie was stripping and trying to make the little boys horny :(

  • @tallperson605 yea, I was watching the movie and had to find the Broadway version of this song.I was so confused why the lady was stripping on the beach in front of little boys. This clip makes more sense than Fergie's performance . . . even with less setting.

  • awsome!

  • What the heck is this? Ho un malditesta!

  • The first boy sitting on her lap reminded me of FLAPJACK !! ahahahahahahaha AWE !!! <3

  • They all look like drag queens...

  • "When you love; do not love like the English. Do not love like the French. And never, love like the German." what's the difference? 0_0

  • omg those women are scary looking :\

  • So, so, so much better than the film. What a sense of fun.

  • genialne, lepsze niż w filmie! ale zaliczyć Fergie bym wolał

  • Fergie totally made this song better.

  • This is awesome, really. It is surely different from fergie's but good nonetheless.

  • a mi esta versión no me gusta nada yo e representado esta canción bailando con mi grupo de teatro y sinceramente me gusta muchísimo mas.

  • MisterMusicStone you're crazy.

  • All I could think when the first couple kids were on her lap was "She's like an Italian prostitute version of Santa!"

  • Broadway = Not film. Choices are going to be extremely different for character, acting, costume, and how it looks to the audience. Film has an extreme allowance when it comes to making a production look creative, theatre is limited.

  • This is a fabulous performance, proving that you don't have to be thin or young to be sexy :)

  • I am confused about this character. Is she a whore or a gypsy?

  • @Selana she was a prostitute

  • She sounds like Rosie O'donnell

  • People really need to understand the difference between film and theatre. Damn comparisions, Kathy Moss and Fergie should be equally appreciated for their interpretation.

And those young boys sure are perfectly in beat!

  • were did she get the kids steal them from home?????????????/

  • amazing movie musical...love it!!!!!

  • Good song and preformance.

  • Looooooooove it !

  • NINEよかった

  • Remember tho, the musical was based off of Fellini's 81/2. In the movie version of nine, Marshall wanted was in a way remaking 81/2 as well as making the movie version of Nine. As for Kathi Moss' accent, it was prolly a stage direction to loose the accent. Prolly for diction reasons. Fergie could have a hard accent because the could make her dialogue clear in post production.

  • @sommon1217 Newsflash, don't say that amongst us Europeans, we don't like you.

  • @TinyAbii Italians are smelly hookers

  • i like more how fergie actually does italian 'accent'... that would've been great to see on the play.

  • ooohhh ok ! cuz she was fat fergie was must to take 8 kg ! right?

  • Fergie's version was much more a music video version. So it's way different then this, which is a musical scene. There really is no comparison. In this, I feel like I'm watching Saraghina and with Fergie...well it's liking I'm watching Fergie. It doesn't feel as if she's actually teaching the boys anything...in fact, are the boys even in that tarantella section with the tambourine's in Fergie's version?

  • @daytonville In the movie version, the way they set it all up was when the women sang, they were on a the set that they were designing for his movie, 'Italy.' Even though the boys are not present during the tambourine scene, it's meant to be like they're in the audience of the stage. It was sort of foreshadowing the ending when he comes back to do the film 'Nine.' It's confusing, I know, but I try to look at it from a directors point of view. Plus it just looks better. ;p

  • kinda silly

  • i know she's trying to be seductive throughout the song however, does anyone else think she looks like she is going to eat that first child....her eyes were just all over the place like "yep...he looks tasty...mmmm.....oh i'm going to enjoy this one!!!" :P

However i love Kathi Moss' version of this song. She doesn't quite have the accent though!

  • She sure is good.... BUT, sorry guys, don't know if there are other italians among those who posted comments here... well, i am. She really sounds NOT italian... i mean, I think she doesn't sound the way an Italian speaking english does... And the voice... great one, but I still prefer Fergi (she just seems more at her ease... probably Kathi Moss should have tried the song in a less low tune...).

  • I totally agree with U...her accent doesnt sound italian at all...fergie's version is much more sensual!

Katie sounds like an english speaking person trying 2 speak italian lol....great voice though

  • VIVA L'ITALIA!!!!!

  • I think that the reason most people liked the version in the movie is that it was very visual. With all the tambourines and the sand flying everywhere. As opposed to the theatrical version in this one. For me, Fergie got it on her vocals, but Kate made it with her acting prowess. So both of them excelled.

  • Fergie is by far the better singer, she really pulled it off to my surprise. However, Kathi Moss plays the character better. She really comes off as an Italian, rather than a gypsy. Both Fergie and Moss are fantastic at the role, they just both bring something different to the role.

  • She sounds Bulgarian to me... She doesn't really come off as an Italian :S Amazing voice though.

  • This rendition clearly outweighs that of Fergie's in terms of....culture. Fergie's film performance was obviously much more visually impressive, and I'd say she also has (in my opinion) a stronger vocal delivery, but Moss' sense of character can't be denied in this performance. Very different contexts, but in all, I'd say they're both very well done.

  • even this version has been edited from the original Broadway show.

    What production is this from?

  • God; they edited the HELL out of this part in the movie adaption, and I have to admit (guilty) that Fergie did this better in the movie (though the film WAS a serious DISAPPOINTMENT).

  • not be so cliche but fergie did sing it better :/

  • Love it and she does this song best, no one that I've head have done this song as good as her.

  • Is um, that a dude?

  • hahha u mean the woman?

  • what the hell none of the boys look Italian

  • I think she's fabulous.

  • Fergie made this song sound so much better when she sang in the movie.

  • fergie is better singer than this woman

  • I agree...

  • this song is sooo right! be italian! love like an italian!

  • damn her voice is so deep.

  • fergie owned this song.

  • @TanyaMarie4ever ,No,FERGIE BOUGHT THIS SONG and did a remake that sucks because she can't even sing

  • @CaptainSeaWolf ohh you poor ho. quit hating cause she's better at everything than your ugly ass will ever attempt.

  • @TanyaMarie4ever ohh poor ho,you don't know she uses a voice modifier for her music, but I still love he songs, even if they are not real :P,if you don't believe me check her at the superbowl and compare her at one of her music videos :P,and I'm not hating,I'm just saying the ugly truth :P

  • @CaptainSeaWolf

You do know that people can have off nights, right? I'm not saying Fergie's voice isn't modified in studio recordings, but no one is perfect at every live performance. Christina Aguilera isn't always perfect. Neither is Beyonce. Hell, Liza Minelli hasn't been able to sing in years.

  • @Ashestoashesjc ,well you are right,everyone has mistakes,and I still love fergie :D

  • @TanyaMarie4ever but kathi also sooooooooooo wild in this show

  • Of course there's editing in films otherwise they wouldn't be films; they'd be home videos SMARTASS!

  • LOL!

  • ew. tlk about flat note at the end

  • Who cares if she hit a "flat note" at the end. I doubt you could even hit it, for that long, after dancing.

  • ummm in the eyes of theatre performers it does matter. 2nd off, hitting a tambourine against your body does not count as dancing, remember this is the tony awards, not the actual broadway show so she only had to perform that piece. and being a musical performer I CAN hit that note thank you very much

  • They. Edited. Fergie's. Version.

NEVER say the movie musical is better than the musical, because there's always editing involved.

  • I think the girl here does a better version than Fergie. She pulls the character off way better. Fergie seems more gypsy than italian, and this girl looks like a big ass italian woman, that wants to be loved, but if you mess with her, she will kill you. fergie doesn't pull that off as well.

  • I think its just different. Fergie's seems more "unappoachable" and "colder" (intentionally.) Yes, more gypsy-like, thats true. This one seems warmer and more "fun"

  • i agree. I can say that fergie does one thing better. on the line "live everyday as if it were your last" this girl can't hit that high note on the word "last" like fergie did, which i commend fergie for.

  • @grayfox622 well u must also keep in mind that this gurl is singing live but also u must give this women credit she made this song and character come alive

  • @grayfox622 also maybe she didnt have to sing that last same note that fergie sang maybe they just made that note in the new musical

  • @grayfox622 lol hun its "LIVE TODAY AS IF IT MAY BECOME YOUR LAST"

  • um. this woman's last note was FLAT.

  • Fergie Sings better

  • Those kids are much creepier.

  • this is so funny

  • That not fergie syworld82 you dummy

  • the women in white are the women of Guido Contini. They are in white because the first part of the show the director (main character of the musical) produces films in black & white...Second act is in color. Also if you notice "saraghina" this woma is inspired in the slut of Fellini's AMARCORD...Don't foget NINE is inspired in Fellini's 81/2...

  • the women in white are really creepy

  • 1/2 Sicilian guy here - in San Francisco CA !

  • shes great :) and gorgeus

  • I love this song... This shows the difference between Broadway and Film .. Film needs to show sex appeal ... and casting a 45 yr old fat woman in todays standards does not bring in VIEWERS.. especially since THIS IS THE SONG OF THE MUSICAL...

  • HAve u seen the pics of Fergie she looks geat though.. She gained some wait for the part

  • Fergie looks heavier because A. she did gain weight and because B. shes standing next to Stars of the film that are TWIGS...

  • Ya they are very skinny.

  • @syworld82 fergie IS sexy and she isn't fat. so i don't really get what you're talking about.... was there another film before the most recent one?

  • @syworld82 The song is sung by the character of a prostitute, there is supposed to be sex appeal and stop defending the woman in this video in comparison to fergie, this woman has an awful voice for both theater and film and fergie's version clearly superior.

  • Those boys are impressive

  • Just perfect!

  • Where did you get this video? Are there more? :)

  • o

    \|/

    /\ I REFUSE!

  • tarantella XDXD :D

  • I'm really loving this song. I want the CD.

  • they are WONDERFUL!!!!

  • im not anything close to italian but i love this song

  • God that kid's scary!

  • ooooops i speeled Italian wrong sorry!

  • loiz XD HI KARLA

  • i am in LOOOOVVVVVE with this vid rite now!!!!!

im italien n im soooooooooo happy!!!!!!

  • ooooo nice :)

  • Ma cos'è sta cacata?

  • Fergie is gonna bit the hell out of the rol. OMG im excited.

  • "...and never love like a Germans" LOL

(I love Germany bt it was awesome LOL )

  • Well done! Makes me wish I was Italian...

    Irish will do I s'pose

  • yeah, could be worse :)

  • Irish is awesome. Im Irish and Italian woop! haha

  • ME TOO! =D

    Mostly Italian though! Woo-Hoo!

    Italians are the best! XD

  • Aw this is ok but if you want i really good one and you live in nj try chester theaters version i think they only have 3 shows left but ill try to get it I went and saw it and thought it was 10 times better than this

  • her lips look like a cartoon at 1:12

    lol

    love this song

  • poor little kids...

  • I don't like to rush time, but I can't wait to see NINE ( the movie )....great post, I enjoyed revisiting Broadway

  • his face at 1:12

    lol

  • Hehehehe... Might look like it, but it's old fashioned sex education ;-P. It might explain Berlusconi and *some* of Italy nowadays...

That song is great, I've had it stuck in my head for over a week...

  • amazing!!! wow this is really good!!

  • hehe i think both versions (this one and fergie's) are great. you just can't compare them. for example, people kept comparing sweeney on stage and on film-both are great just different.. thats just a personal opinion i may be biased

  • True Apples and Oranges but I must say I do think ST movie is overrated same with Phantom lol Chicago and Rent were good though lol

  • i loved patti lupone's "by the sea" in sweeney todd lol! just the way she did the seagull made me laugh!

  • In the Musical, this is a memory of guido about his time in school when he and his friends get a "special lesson" by the town-whore.

And I think it will be a flashback in the film as well but as we see with other ladies and perhaps just one boy, Guido.

  • Thanks a lot mate!!! you are the best!!!!

  • that's amazing... wonderfull... breathtaking... :) :) :)

  • can i ask something guys????those little boys what are they doing ???? and fergie sing the song with some little boys around her like that one????

  • In the Musical, this is a memory of guido about his time in school when he and his friends get a "special lesson" by the town-whore.

And I think it will be in the film as well a flashback.

  • I think Fergie sounds great in the trailer, but please don't compare her performance to this one because:

    1) Kathi Moss is doing this live (and this is the first time I've seen this and I think she's doing a great job.)

    2) Fergie's version was recorded in a studio, most likely edited and made to sound perfect.)

But like I said, I like both.

  • Kathi's brill!

  • GREAT!!!

  • i would've liked her version alot more if she actually had some sort of italian accent while she was singing. it seemed to "american-ized."

  • You couldn't hear the accent?

  • i can wait to see fergie too!!!! i think she´s gonna do great....

  • La Tarantellaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

Tutturuuuu!! Tutturuuuuu! TuttururtutuututyuuuuuuU!!! ^^ I Wana See Fergie Do It!!!

    ^^

  • i can't wait to see Fergie do this!

  • me neighter xd

  • this musical is about Fillini's 8 1/2 isn't it?

  • yepp =D

  • I think it is based off of it

  • if the movie is great as the trailer that i saw probably the movie will get a lot of oscars!!!!

  • lol can u believe this is wat fergie is gonna be doin now shes married

  • thanks!!

  • does anyone know what this show is about?? i've never heard of this musical.

  • It is about an italian film director who wants to direct his next movie, but is surrounded by the women in his life

  • Its a musical remake of Fellini's 1963 groundbreaking,influential and visualy beautiful film 8 1/2.

  • can't waitt for the moviee

  • When you hold me don't just hold me but hold "THIS". What's "THIS" ??

  • A Boob

  • Her breast. They don't show it here, but she grabs his hand and puts it on her chest.

  • I'm excited 'cause that's the Fergie's character on Nine, But i don't think she's gonna do this.

  • Wow that musical`s great, cant wait 4 the film version, which i think should be out in a few months time^^

  • I like Fergie's version. ^^

  • As great as Fergie sounds singing this - and I mean that sincerely, I wasn't expecting her to sound as good as she does - I think I prefer the deep tone to Moss' voice. Fair play to Fergie though - and if the trailer's anything to go by, the tambourine choreography looks amazing in the film!

  • I honestly did not think Fergie had it in her. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the trailer.

  • Absolutely. I've shown the trailer to some people and they've been surprised when I've told them it was her singing too.

As an aside, I *really* want to see Penélope Cruz' "A Call From The Vatican" in the next trailer, if there is one... the little bits we see in the first trailer look great, and I want to know how her vocal holds up!

  • i actually hope they save it until the movie is released, let people be suprised by her vocals.

  • fergies better than her.... and yes probably did..

  • All the women in this production were so incredible, how did the Tony's decide on on ONE winner?

  • mmhmmm.

She gained I beleive 16 pounds?

    But she was still stunning.

  • fergie sounds better

  • i totally agree again....

I commented on a comment of ytour from aniother video

  • I wouldn't say that Fergie sounds better (even though I love Ferg more than anything) But I say that, along with LaCageAuxGypsy, It's a different portayal. I like both versions.

  • The trailer just came out and it looks fantastic

  • When they are filming this for the movie version, I think Rob Marshall should do what Bill Condon did for 'And I am Telling You' in Dreamgirls - he choreographed it in the exact way as the Tony performance...

  • I wish my voice was as manly as hers. I'm a 20yr old.

Also....where are those boys now? I would like to know....

    I'm worried for them.
