One of the best riffs ever. Fun to play. Great lesson. I never used the slide on the 5 string 3rd fret style before but I loved how it cleaned it up and added a better sound to the riff. Great stuff!
Thanks for the lesson.. Love the song.. On another note, I have lived in Oregon my whole life and plan on moving to Colorado.. I am flying there in 3 weeks and staying in Westminster. We plan on traveling around the Denver area and up to Fort Collins. What are some nice areas to live in Colorado? Again, thanks for the guitar lesson!
thank you thank you !!!! I have been playing guitar under 5 months. This lesson was crystal clear and I COMPLETELY got it down under 30 minutes AND i was high.
Well done! You must be a teacher of some kind. I say this, cause I've been a middle school teacher for about 15 years. I've also been playing guitar for 35 years (I started when I was in the womb) so I appreciate your clean licks!
@GuitarRiffVideos how do u play the next bit where your on the high E and B strings sliding up the neck its like 1 , 3 , 5 , 6 frets or something, but i dont know (how do you play this part?) the technique. it almost sounds like he's using the whammy as he's going up on those strings.
Have U Ever done, "Got Me under pressure" By ZZ Top" (By the way ive been playing for three years and i love old school rock have anygood songs i could learn)
Thanks for this tutorial. I've seen this song many times on YouTube, but your explanation was very easy to digest and I was playing it in minutes. I'm an OK guitar player, and this was very helpful. Thanks again.
The channel vol is high and the master vol is low. The amp is a Marshall 410 which has very high output. Experiment with the vol level on your guitar and your amp and you may find a similar tone.
Hi Paul - Good Job!!! There are alot of great guitar players around, but NOT alot of great guitar players that can teach.....Very nice.....and thank you, See you at your Website......NFla DZ
This is the BEST vid on YouTube! I have been looking for this forever as I just started guitar and it was always my dream to be able to play this if I ever played guitar and I just got one for a present. Your the coolest and you made my dream come true. Your lesson is just awesome!!!! THANKYOU!!!!!!!!
really good method and style of teaching. you're much better then most people at explaining. it's quick, to the point, clear, slow enough. and love the slow to fast at the end so we can really hear the riff go from the practice sound to the performance sound.
Wow, you are the BEST teacher on youtube! I've been playing guitar for about two months, and i can play this pretty well but not quite as fast as you do. I don't know if i have some talent or thats just how good of a teacher you are. Either way, it's helped ATON! Keep up the good work
I really do appreciate your lesson., I'd love to learn "Diary of a Madman" from somebody like yourself, a great teacher, and I'm not an Ozzy "fan" but he's had some GREAT riff writer's. :) again, thank you so much!
THANK YOU For this video! I have been working on this song forever and could never get it right. Your breakdown really made it easy! THANKSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

Beginners question: Since it sounds very clear. Do you mute the strings? And if yes, the whole time (apart from the tremolo-moment)?
Thanks
