My tactic is, if im level with my opponents hp, I use "Punch."

If I have lower HP, I use "Kick" to make up for the lost hp.

If I have more HP, I use "Block" because of the hidden defense bonus. :)

I use the Defensive Punch, because it gives a hidden defense boost, while the kick gives a hidden strength bonus and the first punch gives a hidden attack boost.
