  • Fuck me, not only are the people in aussie fucking irritating, so are the animals :/

  • Remind me to never visit Australia! Goddamn box jellyfish, snakes, funnel web spiders, nile crocs, and don't they have blue ringed octopus down there as well?

  • "worlds deadliest animals:Australia" all of them

  • They forgot to mention... "death can occur..." in around 5 minutes!

True to what someone else said though, youre more likely to be killed by a coconut.... followed by sitting at home on your sofa... followed by getting hit by lightening.. followed by getting killed by a shark

  • Great now I'm afraid to go looking in rock pools at the beach...or even to the beach for that matter.

  • I hate this thing

  • These things are everywhere up North, they are lethal as fuck.

  • stone fish is also deadly

  • that thing's so badass u dont even want to look at it

  • Australia has all the bad shit.. lol

  • Cone shell (live ones) should be handled with extreme caution. They are all venomous. Auger shells are equally venomous. .. most notably Terebra Maculata.

  • Such a beautiful species indeed...a quick and effective way to kill or torture with searing pain is enough to take anyone off combat THIS is the perfect WEAPON <3

  • if it's a cone, leave it alone

  • Another one of life's important lessons: When in Australia... DON'T, TOUCH, ANYTHING!

  • FUCK. AUSTRALIA.

  • Fucking AUSTRALIA.

  • @JRFproductions only about 1 person dies a year, more people die from coconuts and theyre not even living

  • only in Australia you can get killed by a snail, lol these things are nasty as hell.

  • this shell should be called the humbling shell, cause it you mess with it, you might get humbled by its venom.

  • I've heard about these things since I was quite young, I was always fascinated in learning about unusual animals such as this when I was younger but for some reason I never really looked further into Cone Shells. My curiosity finally peaked (many years later) and I'm glad I looked into it, these things are quite fascinating, I'm certainly intrigued.

  • featured in this clip is a conus striatus ... not a geographus. A person would not want to get stung by either.

  • @definewords

    Thank you.

I will double check and change the video info.

  • These guys don't actually harpoon their prey, unlike other Conidae. They wait until a fish swims up their rostrum, then engulf it and stab it. See Johnson, C. R. and Stablum, W. 1971. Observations on the feeding behavior of Conus geographus (Gastropoda: Toxoglossa). Pacific Science 25: 109-111.

  • At least, C. geographus doesn't. Other cone snails do.

  • That snail reminds me of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat!

    "GET OVER HERE!!!"

  • Thats not a cone shell! Its "the poison thing that lives in a shell, that spikes you when you pick it up!"

    (Scared Weird Little Guys)

  • lol. exactly what i said when i saw it.

i had swlg as my feature vid for ages.

  • Lol this reminds me of a character from dragon ball, Cell he had a tail that could expand and swallow humans whole. Wonder if they got the idea here ^^

  • that thing is like cell from dbz sucks him in ha

  • That thing is wicked.

  • There is a safe way to handle a cone snail!

  • how??

  • One safe way not to be attacked and hit by it's poisonous stinger is; TO NOT PICK UP SHELLS IN TROPICAL PLACES.

  • a safe way to handle cone snails is with tongs

  • then what is it?

  • Wow, that snail will make you its bitch.

  • LMFAO

  • 2 Jellyfish, Sea Kraits, along with the Stonefish, the Cone Shell, and Blue Ringed Octopus should be avoided.

  • no non leathal ones but i kno they can kill a human in less then 4 minutes

  • what the fuck?! 0:38 a bitchcandle?

  • ' beachcomber '

  • whats dat?

  • someone who scavenges around a beach, usually at low tide, for anything interesting. Animals, shells, driftwood, anything really that catches the eye or has some value or interest.

  • I know that there are non-lethal cone shells here in the U.S. Are there non-lethal species in Australia?

  • So far as I know this is the only lethal cone shell in our waters.

But almost all of them are toxic in varying degrees in Australia. Many will make you very sick and perhaps rarely kill someone who is hyper sensitive to their venom.

But the Geographis cone is the exception that is an outright killer to be left alone.

The problem is that the shell is a thing of special beauty, so everyone wants to pick it up.
