  • I have heard Francescatti live... He was one of the most moving and sensible violinists I have ever heard... And he soude exactly like in the recordings.... Just BEAUTIFULL! Thank you for posting!

  • This version of Francescatti's always gave me chills - gooseflesh. There is something supernatural, phantasmic here. This is Louvian.

  • hermosa version de Zino Francescatti , Tedi Pavparami estudio con Francescatti y es notorio ver como su version lleva este sello inclusive detalles como la postura de la mano derecha al tomar el arco

  • Absolutely beautiful. Ranks with Khachaturian's Adagio from Spartacus!

  • as many have already said - like painting such a rich palette of colour and texxture. the ear is forever caught by another subtle nuance - -thanks so much for this

  • I dont have words to say how magnificent this is

  • This music is so exquisitely sad...it always makes me cry. Never have I heard it played like this...thanks for this sample of Francescatti's incomparable artistry

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OH I used to have this album..it is FANTASTIC! Any chance you can upload the Saint-Saens? I think it is one of the best performances of the Rondo and Caprissioso! I wish they would make this into a CD! Thanks for uploading..this IS a treasure!

  • its on an oop double cd called great violin concertos i think someone uploaded his saint saens 3 if you search for it

  • Thanks! Yes, saw the SS 3, but not the Rondo and Caprissioso: is very difficult to find..just thought I would inquire to see if you have it as I recollect he plays it so beautifully! Thanks for the things you have uploaded..has been a pleasure to listen to!

  • dont have the rondo capriccio try ebay

  • Yes, the CD has been released... 2 discs... I own it... Perhaps my favorite in my collection.

It includes his Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Saint-Saens, Mendelssohn, Bruch, and Chausson Poeme. AMAZING interpretations. He also edited fingerings and bowings for publishers. Very personal stuff. Check it out if you're playing any of it.

  • I really like francescatti's sound.his sound is so brilliant and has a mark, you can distinguish him with the first note he plays.i really like to hear his interpretation of beethoven's concerto

  • the beethoven recording is what i like most by him and its still in print so i wont upload it but its easy to find and doesnt cost much, i think there is a video of him playing the beethoven also

  • Thank you, Scott! In my past life, I had Francescatti/Chausson on LP. I remember how happy I was when my dad brought me it from Moscow. It was my first "meeting" with both, composer and performer... Now, this recording is very special for me...

  • i like his sound, maybe not as much as oistrakh but there is something about the color of his sound i cant quite put into words, maybe golden and sparkling but that doesnt quite cover it
