When the poor get sick, hospitals won't throw them out, and they'll get their treatments, but let's remember that current medicine is very expensive. They'll eventually lose their houses after being buried in debt. Then what? Every member of the family is working in a low pay job, struggling daily because of their debt.

It does not provide the ability to go to the type of health care provider of my choice with massive restrictions or any form of therapy. i pay big health insurance premiums to be fully covered for surgery or hospitilization , i have not seen a lesser priced policy with full hospital coverage by blue cross fl. Hoping at least, for a very simple, basic, cheap healthplan that would fully pay all hospitlizations and major services in emergency.

If the health care bill passes, it becomes a law that each and every person will have health insurance of some kind or they will be penalized either financially or by serving jail time or both. By the way, the mattress tag label law was never there to threaten the consumers but rather the manufacturers and dealers. In the 1900's mattresses were being made of very questionable things and were full of vermin and so on. The goverment made the dealers put the labels on to let people know what was in their mattresses. I agree that not all things the government is involved in are bad, this being one small example.

Do a quick google search on profit margins of various industries in the US. You will see that Insurance companies rank 86. Although I loathe the business model of these companies you all must realize that there are better ways than this bullshit healthcare bill to regulate these companies. Allow the free market to work = tort reform, competition accross state lines, greater access to HSA's etc etc etc.

Misplacing blame on insurance companies does not change the fact that Pharmaceutical companies continue to inflate the cost of prescription drugs at absurdly high (50,000% and higher) profit margins. Nor does it change the fact a five minute doctor visit cost about $100, that's about $1,200 per hour. No American, I know, is making that much.

The bill already says " The amendment prohibits federal funds from explicitly subsidizing abortion in the private healthcare plans to be offered through the health insurance exchange" meaning that if you want an abortion you have to pay for it with your own money. And last I checked abortion is still a legal medical proceedure in this country. Not to mention the RNC insurance actually covered abortions for over 18 years untill a reporter brought it up. It's kind of a stretch but in a way, it IS slavery. When the poor get sick, hospitals won't throw them out, and they'll get their treatments, but let's remember that current medicine is very expensive. They'll eventually lose their houses after being buried in debt. Then what? Every member of the family is working in a low pay job, struggling daily because of their debt.
Again, this is kind of a stretch, but cases like this will pop up if the current state of healthcare isn't changed.

It does not provide the ability to go to the type of health care provider of my choice with massive restrictions or any form of therapy. i pay big health insurance premiums to be fully covered for surgery or hospitilization , i have not seen a lesser priced policy with full hospital coverage by blue cross fl. Hoping at least, for a very simple, basic, cheap healthplan that would fully pay all hospitlizations and major services in emergency.

You need to do some research. If the health care bill passes, it becomes a law that each and every person will have health insurance of some kind or they will be penalized either financially or by serving jail time or both. It was in the bill. If the government can throw you in jail for not having health insurance that counts as government takeover of the health insurance business to me. Research, then post.

No idiot. A "takeover" implies that the government owns the insurance compoanies. They don;t. A takeover implies there will be government-un hospitals. There won't be. The only thing that will change is that insurance companies can't drop you if you get sick or reject you if you have a pre-existing condition. And some poor people will have the OPTION of buying into tghe system instead of showing up at the ER--which is what we have now. A system that sucks that YOU, the taxpayer, pays for.

By the way, the mattress tag label law was never there to threaten the consumers but rather the manufacturers and dealers. In the 1900's mattresses were being made of very questionable things and were full of vermin and so on. The goverment made the dealers put the labels on to let people know what was in their mattresses. I agree that not all things the government is involved in are bad, this being one small example.

Do a quick google search on profit margins of various industries in the US. You will see that Insurance companies rank 86. Although I loathe the business model of these companies you all must realize that there are better ways than this bullshit healthcare bill to regulate these companies. Allow the free market to work = tort reform, competition accross state lines, greater access to HSA's etc etc etc.

Misplacing blame on insurance companies does not change the fact that Pharmaceutical companies continue to inflate the cost of prescription drugs at absurdly high (50,000% and higher) profit margins. Nor does it change the fact a five minute doctor visit cost about $100, that's about $1,200 per hour. No American, I know, is making that much.
There is such an imbalance and Health Care Reform, along with most in Congress, fails to deal with this. They need to identify the REAL problems!

The bill already says " The amendment prohibits federal funds from explicitly subsidizing abortion in the private healthcare plans to be offered through the health insurance exchange" meaning that if you want an abortion you have to pay for it with your own money. And last I checked abortion is still a legal medical proceedure in this country. Not to mention the RNC insurance actually covered abortions for over 18 years untill a reporter brought it up. Reid's right. This bill is historic, in the sense that historians will look back at the reasons for America's decline in global influence and wonder why we continued to spend trillions of dollars while we were 13 trillion dollars in debt. All polls show that most Americans don't wont this reform, but I guess that the elitist members of Congress know what's better for us than we do.
