IDK how up to date you guys are...but here's whats up: They attempted to make the saturn game, and we don't know whats up with it. After the project was canceled Chris Senn and Alon Ofer made a PC game from their attempts, and pitched it to Sega. They declined, wanting to make ports to PC, not full games. This is just some of the tech videos that they used as part of their pitch. In fact, nobody even knows if this build even exists anymore...
@robabill the director of the game released these videos so its not leaking also rumor has it that chris senn(director of game)was gonna release the saturn version on to the internet but got mad because someone leaked an old test version and decided not to release it
Man this brings back memories, how I waited for this game back in 96 when I was a kid, and how pissed I was when the guy in some game store told me it had been cancelled...
BTW, this demo was running on a highend PC of the time, I dont know if devs at the time had been able to make the Saturn run this game at this speed.
Awesome footage too bad it wasn't released : ( I got a question though what about the Choas Emeralds are they in the game (or supposed to be in it) if they are how do you get them?
You know, I love X-treme, mainly because of it's mysterious production (I don't understand a fucking thing of it, and when I also hear about that tech demo that got selled for 2500 at an auction, I really don't get it anymore XD), BUT I do know about the Fish-eye lens builds, and I really loved the idea, but when I'm watching this... I'm getting a little headache of it. Sorry.
I know it was for saturn, I've read the wikipedia entry for the game just like you. Hell I remember when I was 10 years old and my family just got internet I saw very early screen shots for this game on a sonic fan page. I was just merely commenting on how this video, which clearly states in the title it is of the PC version of the game, looks better than it would've on a saturn. I hardly see that warranting 6 thumbs down.... people these days...
what's this music called ?

As far as i know, no. The game revolved around six special rings...

I wonder if that's how they got the idea for Sonic & the secret rings

It's nice to hear different music in a Sonic X-treme video for a change :)

doubt it would've looked that good on the saturn. what's the estimated time of release? 2011?

dude, it was for Saturn, the graphics aren't that good. Just smooth. This was cancelled because the producer of this game got sick.

actually, back then the Saturn had better graphics than the PC. Compare the Saturn and Pc versions of Sonic 3D
