I remember seeing a poster for this single stuck to a concrete pillar of an east london flyover as i rode my motocycle past on some impossible dead line, and thinking 'now they've made it.'
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful... this song doesn't bring back any memories in particular, but for some reason I still think it is the most beautiful love song ever written....
I was lucky enough to see them opening for Rush on their " Signals " tour. Marillion almost got booed off the stage. They made a impression on me, and I became a hug fan.
You just have to look at the right place...Theres still are bands that plays this kind of music around. IQ - Pendragon - Porcupine Tree - Arena. The shit is that they are not on MTV :D
@mroblongo you're right...still lots of great artists out there, we just gotta find 'em. Don't know if you know of it, but there's a web site called progarchives that catalogues, reviews (users etc.) thousands of artists and albums in the this genre
I was in my very early teens, and for the first time I felt that thing called "love", and this song and the album was the soundtrack of that era of my live.
I was 18 when this fine, fine record was released..already a full on Marillion fan, was stoked to see 'em at MasseyHall in Toronto. The show was kind of a dud, actually....the band looked burned out a little, although there were some sublime moments. Jesus, SR's guitar wailed at times...we love Marillion...we love Marillion
Fish's most touching and poetic lyrics. I wore this album out when I was 18 and breaking up with my girlfriend. It still makes the hairs on my neck stand on end 12 years on.
