Does this leaked version have TV-Out via the 3.5mm plug for the Fascinate? The Captivate and Vibrant have TV-Out via the 3.5mm plug......I don't know why the Fascinate lacks it.

If you go to androidcentral under the fascinate ROMs ad hacks there is a thread started by DroidXcon where there is a whole tutorial on how to install everything you will need to flash the ROM onto the phone. They are very clear and great instructions. There are a bunch of ROMs on there to choose from, most notably, super clean 2.8. It's pretty awesome.

So is this coming out on the 22nd for sure? I have not seen any official news from Verizon that they will release an OTA update on Feb. 22. I have seen that the Epic 4G will get Official Froyo via OTA on Feb. 21st 2001 this Monday. I love the phones hardware, but come on Verizon/Samsung this is getting ridiculous.

@Klenchify The freedom is not only yours, it also shared by the carriers, who have the freedom to create modifications for and bastardize android as much as they want. they have taken great advantage of their ability to load android full of trash bloatware, enough to cut the functional memory to only a third of what it is. they even took amazing things like google voice recognition, integrated search, and free GPS, and have superimposed highly priced subscription software that cannot be removed.

of course, there is all kinds of workaround. but as always, this takes lots of work. same problem i had with PC's, and i am a web developer. I remember spending once a year reinstalling windows. Running malware scans, virus scans, etc. I eventually said F*** ALL THIS and got a mac.

i love android and what google is trying to do. I love my fascinate also. But the more the carriers catch on with their own "developing", the faster I may go running for the hills back into the iPhone wagon.

wait.......so in America Samsung and venders are only pushing out froyo now? i take it within a two year contract you will be lucky to get gingerbread? once they have you tied in its a big F you! if you're a phone geek that hurts. in the UK Samsung galaxy s froyo been out a while but it had to be cause over here android is seen as HTC (who update at a decent speed) so samsung cant afford to slip up. htc desires are every third phone after ios and rim devices.

actually, you can remove bloatware from your phone, if you root the phone, download titanium back up, go to apps list, and choose the bloatware apps you wish to delete, and after choosing the app, hit uninstall

Yeah great Video,... btw Skyfire used to be a great browser, until it started showing certain sites, like youtube, in Mobil view only. I also have Firefox's browser, but they have not successfully ported the Adobe flash plugin into their browser yet, when they do that and fix a couple other small problems, they will be one of the major browsers on Android.

If you go into application settings, and find bing search/bing voice search you should be able to clear defaults and then hit search again to see if you can set google as default.
