does anyone know a video whose music and visuals are similar to this one? takes place in a desert with a slow sad song but features the hanging of a young boy.
I thought that instrument The Beatles were all playing together on the Strawberry Fields video was the most bizarre bandstrument I had ever seen. This will never be equaled.
wow....this is like where the Association left off in 1972. Thank heaven someone has continued and put their own twist on this lost airy-harmony-oriented genre. Love it, thanks guys! (from an older guy)
what is the rest of yellow house like. i only want to buy it if it is great. are all the songs this mellow, do they ever get a beat going. i think this is beautiful, but i know i wont keep my attention if it is all this slow
a lot of songs are slow, but that's what makes them uniquely them. but a lot of songs start off slower but have a sudden shift and climax at the end. yellow house is one of the best albums I've ever heard--and I think you should definitely invest in it. even if you're not into it, atleast you know!
I think this video speaks great volumes and is remarkably poignant for being so simple. Fantastic detail, great work all around. Amazing song as well! There's a version of this in HD floating around the internet somewhere; def worth watching so all the detail isn't washed away.
I'd say it was the more conventional song-based approach to structure than the nature of the instrumentation that set Maximo Park and Grizzly Bear apart from their label mates.

Great to see a non-electronic band on the world's best electronic record label. Warp are visionaries.
mattycfox 4 years ago 2
Apart from Maximo Park, then.
chipboardchrist 4 years ago
maximo park's first album had keyboards and acidic effects, didn't it. Grizzy bear are more like the cocteau twins with an american slant. Chap!
mattycfox 4 years ago
I'd say it was the more conventional song-based approach to structure than the nature of the instrumentation that set Maximo Park and Grizzly Bear apart from their label mates.
Still, great band, great label, great video.
chipboardchrist 4 years ago
can't really argue with that!
