Dude, I have ridden all those tracks. Some of the tracks are a bit of a precious memory considering they are gone now after all the logging on the Tantragee saddle, so this video is extra sepcially cool. Nice work.
JefferyT...I hear ya! I had a GT Pro Performer as a kid, and just last month my wife and I went out and bought GT mountain bikes! I got a 2010 Avalanche 1.0 and she got a 2010 Avalanche 3.0 Disc.
I've got the exact same bike but tricked it up a little by upgrading the stem, bars and saddle. I also found that the OEM brake pads are shite and that the brakes are fine with good quality pads. I also changed to Panaracer FireXCPro tyres which are brill.
The GT Avalanche 2.0 Disc is a fine bike.!
Next upgrades in order are.. forks, wheels and sram gearing.
@g1deonian get some hydraulic brakes you wont regret it lol and for fork i would say get a nice epicon its not that expensive and its nice and wheel set XTR but its expensive as hell lol
i have that bike, and also upgraded the forks, but the chain has snapped on me, and the front calliper leaked oil from the hydrolics so I had to get a new one.
what i meant is that 2009 GT Ava 1.0 with slicks would be a good commuting bike ( street ). If you are going to freeride and do flatland tricks, get a freeride or bmx bike
Yeah gt are the best, i have a 2.0hyd disc and you can beat it like a slave and it wil NEVER BREAK. if you wanna do steet ild look at a bmx but im a lanky basterd :/ (XL bike frame;)) BMX if you can but if you cant yeah a low slung dirt jumper light weight, i can only be jelous lol
Who sings the first song? I was mountain biking way back when Julie Furtado was all the rage. I miss it and will buy a trustey GT to get me back in the spin of things.
My old bike was a Jamis and I killed it at the 4X track....when I got my GT the dude said if I did the same thing's then i should get a more expensive bike...but I not have enough cash....so I gonna try not to kill it...it's a good bike but not top of the range....ya know??
I got an Avalanche 2.0 as well (blue/grey), love the bike and is bigger and 5x better than my old bike, I just got it last month when needing a new bike was long overdue. So far it's damn reliable but I've been hearing things about the front & rear derailleurs but that might be on the older models. Sooner or later I'll be upgrading pedals and brakes (perhaps to BB7) and maybe throw on XT derailleurs, it already came with the XCR fork and it's quite nice.
This is pissing me off......you might aswell tell a street skater to go to a half pipe, or a free diver to get into scuba...every body has their own style dude...this is what i do.....
i realize that man, all im not saying its bad, and just saying you know. i like doing what you do, just going to have fun on a bike trail, and maybe some jumps at the park, but you know i like your style
That bike is a x-country model, it isn't designed for extreme downhill or racing or anything, I ride mine alot through tight and loose trails and around the city.
Whatever. I never said it was extreme. If ya read the info it even says it is not extreme. smart arse. When ya 40 I bet ya a lazy fat fucker that cant even ride a bike.
dude u should find some better tracks with jumps this bike is a very good bike i have it it is good for jumps. Mate if your in Australia Brisbane go to mt Cottha or Blue nurses at brookfield goodgoing mate!!
im just getting into this sport, and i decided against the trek 4300 disc, and get a 2.0 this thursday, they order it tomorrow morning, my g/f is thinking about gettin the 2.0 as well, hope its good! if i like it ill upgrade in a year or so to a zaskar or marathon
IM just getting in too, but an expensive bike isnt really in the budget , and ive broken around 4 cheap bikes $150 ones going moutain biking. Any suggestions on cheap durable mountain bikes?
My GT Avalanch 2.0 rocks but parts are bit easy to brake so cant hammer it about too much... And need to oil it monthly. But anyway wicked first time bike...
i think the gt is way better. better design and better gear. the only thing i did not like with the 2.0 is the suntour forks. i had them changed for the forks from the 1.0 at no extra cost.
