Its funny. When I watched the season 1 premiere on tv. All those years ago. And when I saw this opening, and the rest of the episode I thougt to myself. Whatever happens in this series, no mather if its good or bad.. I just hope, that the final episode will end with this same scene but him closing his eyes instead. So when I finally saw the last one. I cried like a baby. Perfection.

OMG!!! I'm such a huge fan of the show and yeah things didn't make sense here and there at points but if you actually paid attention, in the end everything made sense and fell into place. And I like the fact that the end was almost like the begining :) What I loved the most was the fact that at the begining, his eyes opened and that was the start of thier journey and at the end of it, his eyes closed because thier journey-well his journey was over! :') <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

@twity979 At the end of the series we see 2 separate points in time. the main one is on the Island december 2007, in this "Time" we see Jack dying in the same place he woke up 3 years earlier, he see's the Agira plane leaving the island carrying Sawyer, Kate, Claire, Miles, Frank and Richard, other survivors were Eloise, Walt, Hurley, Desmond, Penny, Charlie(Desmonds kid) Ben, Aaron, JiYeon, Vincent, In the "time" we see everyone in the church they are in the afterlife long after.....

this isn't even the opening scene of lost, this is when they return to the island... in the very first episode, he wakes up on the beach because they just crashed there. this is when he's teleported through time instead of staying on the ajira plane with sun, ben and frank.
