Back when I was a kid, there was only one single time I managed to kill the turtle boss just to die on the next one.

That trick with buying all the engines is new to me. Never thought of it as I considered everything other than Big Wings to be more damaging then helpfull (with the exception of level 5 where all the bases are on the ground. There I used a faster engine to be able to kill all bases while I still had the laser-beam.

Maybe I should try connecting my MS 2 and play a little FZ!

Man, I used to play this game (and part 2) incessantly. I remember when we first played it, my bro, my dad and I could never get past the first boss and would get frustrated. After I finally beat the first boss, everything else just got easier. There were times I could play the entire game all the way through at least twice without losing a life. Fun times.

I loved this one, best game on the MS. Once you figured out the heavy bomb trick and got yourself a Rapid Fire Unit (remember those?) you were set. @johnnyjohnson - i used to play this on my megadrive via the adaptor, and i had a rapid fire button on my aftermarket controller, which made it hell of a lot easier, u just had to steer. i use an emulator now, which you can specify rapid fire, which is great. fantasy zone 2 is great too! thanks for upload and tip on unlimited fire.
