I am so glad that I found your site. I wish I saw it prior to getting my micros. This is my first micro experience and I am a little scarred about the outcome when I take them out. I had 2 African ladys put them in and they put little one around the hairline well one feel out today. Obviously way too much pressure on a few strands of hair. I don't know why they feel every single strand of hair has to be braided. Any way I wanted to try it now I'm over it. Ill just enjoy and take them out in July
I have been wearing braids for about atleast 8 years off and on. Believe me I have experience glue on my hair and etc. Now, I went to get my hair braided and I did like the outcome.
I've watched a few of your video's, and this is my first post I believe. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Your braids always look nice. I had micro's last year, and I didn't keep them in but 3 wks! I experienced white bumps at the nape of my neck and a couple around the temple. My hair didn't feel like it was braided too tight? I started removing braids asap! My natural hair is past my shoulders and I was afraid I would loose it. I want to try again but i'm afraid?
Those are pull-bumps. Even though it didnt feel too tight, they were. Sometimes it also happens if you are allergic to the hair (usually the synthetic hair can do that, too). On the rare occasion when I get one I put witchhazel on it to dry it up. No scratching or popping. :) Dont be afraid, just let them know if it seems too tight in appearance and insist that the braid is redone. Be sure to spray oil of some type immediately after getting your braids to relax your scalp.
Hey girl! I have to say that your tutorials are so well done! And your voice is very pleasant to listen too! I am part white/ asian. And I just enjoy watching your tutorials on how how to braid hair, Ha-ha.
OMG, micros sound sooo scary. Thanks for the warning. I cannot stand itchy scalp. I can't imagine having natural hair and still having to deal with scalp sores, kinda like still dealing with sores from relaxers.
No, dont let it scare you off! LOL. Yes, the sores are like from relaxers BUT DONT scratch at them..I know easier said than done! LOL :) It's not a certainty that you WILL get sores. It's something that MAY happen. I'm so glad to have micros. I wouldnt transition any other way. This is my 3rd time (final time). :)
Wonderful Tips! Girl you are a Micro Braid Guru!!! :) If I put my braids back in, I'll have to take some of these tips. I'll have to adjust them to synthetic though. I just can't tolerate the human hair!!
Your hair is beautiful. I am having mine done soon. How long should you wait before swimming?

@ScottHarperStudio I'm not a swimmer, but I think 2-3 weeks is good. If you can get a cap on, go for it. :)

I have had my braids for about 2 weeks now and i'm at the phase where it is itching like crazy. Where can i find scalpitin?
forever3011 2 years ago
It's everywhere. Walmart, Rite-Aid, Walgreens..most supermarkets but it's most expensive there. It's a life-saver! thanks for stopping by!

Also, it may be time for a light cleansing. Have you tried witch hazel with a cotton ball? It's unscented. ..:)
