  • Sounds like a really good tip for hand launches. I may use it in future depending on the plane, you really don't need this on the original PZ T-28 Trojan it hand launches no problem, also a Hellcat that I have its not an issue either, I suppose it depends on the plane!

  • Nice vid! What was the receiver you were using?

  • simplest method is to launch with the left hand and have your right hand hand on the aileron elevator stick the whole time. Switches make you lazy. Its best to do it the right way to begin with. Never take your hand off of the controls for any switches!! LOL

  • Great idea, thanx. Did that on my DX7 at the flap switch. Can't wait to test it ;-)

  • heres another solution. fly mode one...

  • @zyoungson215 Awesome tip thanks.

  • Thats odd..

that plane shouldnt have now down actitude when launching.. i tought you were talking about pod-pusher planes (CloudsFly, WildHawk, EZ clones, etc) wich have the motor over the CG and push the nose down under power.. This T-28 should be as easy as 75% power , throw it pointing slighty upwards and off it goes

  • i just stumbled over ur handlaunsh tip, which is a really a good idea, tested it and i have to say it really makes the handlauch much easier specialy for smaler planes, thx.

  • Good tip for those that HL using the AILE/ELEV stick or hand. If you hand launch using your throttle hand then you can simply pull on the stick with the other hand.

  • @freemarlochip- thanks for the info below Freemarlochip! Also, my left hand is my gas hand, the problem is I throw like a three year old girl with my left hand so this setup has been good to me lol...

  • Great tip but i was wondering like flipesgirl35 if you know of a way to do this with a delta wing or as the DX6i has in its menu on a elevon wingtailmix would be helpfull and thumbs up.

  • @startazz -

Sorry, I don't fly delta wings, I can maybe send you a link to help you with it...

  • @Dumbthumbs Thanks for the the reply but i got there in the end mate but it took some working out and i had to get another YT buddy to help aswell ;-) but thanks for that anyways.

  • @startazz Just go into a FREE MIX and add ELEVATOR TO ELEVATOR add you desire amount of % and put it on either the mix switch or any available D/R if you are using COMBI D/R

  • @freemarlochip If you read all the comments you will see i have done it now but thanks anyways, the way we did it wasn't like that at all mate, i did it in a mix but Flap to elevator then the amount of % then i put it on my flap switch, job done ;-) do you have a dx6i because when i tried elevator to elevator it wouldn't work mate thats why i asked when i did, like i said got it all worked out now.

  • Hello.

Do you know how to do the same in a plane using delta mix?

I did the same on my stryker but didn't work.

Thank you so much for your time,

    Felipe

  • @felipesgirl35 Great comment as i was looking for the same thing for my new plane which is using a delta mix but no luck ;-( if you have any luck can you send me a message and i'll do the same for you ;-)

  • @felipesgirl35 If you still need some help on this me and another YT guy worked it out,so if you want i can send you the info you need ;-) just send me a message saying you want to know how to do it and i'll tell you ok.

  • If you have the DX7 like mine, you have 3 positions that you can configure with the Trojan.

Mine is normal on the top, elevator increase on the second and flapperons in the third position. Flapperons allows you to lower the ailerons at whatever percentage while still having ailerons for steering. Not as good as real flaps, but on this relatively slow moving plane, its not really necessary.

I'm fairly new to flying... My first was an MSR, second the micro P51 and the Apprentice. Trojan's next

  • @KaZAamM

I haven't used flapperons or spoilerons on the T-28 yet. I just haven't felt the need. It comes in a lot hotter than say a Super Cub, but it is a very easy to land plane. I may just put up a tutorial on Spoilerons for the Springtime flying season which should start up here in a couple months.

  • Great tip. Thanks a lot. Will use it when my Trojan is delivered.

  • Thanks! Enjoy the plane, I am sure you will love it!

  • Excellent Idea, I just installed the DX6i on my t-28...

  • Thanks SlyONe77, the DX6i is an awesome radio, you will not be disappointed!

  • Hey! Thanks! As a learner I need all the help I can get and this is a great tip! Appreciate you taking the time to post it.

  • Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it!
