  • Master very good =))

  • What dvd do these katas come from - can anyone help?

  • Guys please don't argue about who is the instructor or your masters. The thing is you learn the karate fast if you concentrate and focus on the instruction. If you understand it ,there you are....By the way if not ,,,,,,,I will kick your ass one by one!

    KIYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • Dear Oleg,

By the way, just give me your address and as soon I can I will visit you and maybe can kick your ass.

  • Dear Oleg,

I wonder what is your age? The fact that I dont like Asai´s Kata dont make me better than him. Asai´s Fundamentals are complete shit if comparing with Nakayama´s Teachings. Thats why I dont like his Katas.

When we are grading they always have something to correct on us but if you see with strict eyes they also have BIG MISTAKES.

  • @tokaidosan I agree with you myself I HATE asai's katas (but I happen to like his empi and nijushiho). And yes I think especially later on asai's kihon tunred to shit.

  • I am amazed by the fluidity of his movements. Absolutely incredible. Sensei Asai is a true karate-ka.

  • Gotta love the internet super stars trying to talk down to Asai. He was a REAL fighter who trained his karate to be suited to his individual strengths. All this sport karate foolishness that try to give garbage bunkai and perfect the form of each movement to within inches are ridiculous. No one's kata is perfect but Asai's looks natural and practical not robotic and flicky.

  • why not my friend? In a Real Fight Situation i doubted that Asai SEnsei could manage to face me. I said many times this thing in front of them. Japanese people are weak people, no problem.

  • THIS IS NOT KARATE! A warning from a JKA life member: I spent a long time training and teaching this activity. Because of many contradictions I saw and heard, I began a study of karate from it’s beginning; what it really is, why it was developed, how it was taught, what it’s general syllabus was. The JKA is a shell, they have eliminated much of original karate and have invalidated it as a martial art. Read comments my site, the truth is obvious through study if you are willing to see it.

  • @IEKUKATAKA and so... wkf?? i hope that you see a difference between wkf and jka..

  • @shtitman WTF?? This is what I see and this is what I know. You are 24 and I do not communicate with those who have too little age and experience to offer constructive and objective dialogue. I get a lot of remarks regarding my comments and caveats. Most of the lame brained and experienced crap comes from people under 30. BTW, if wkf means world karate federation, you made my point. That is just another group of idiots that want karate to fit them. It's Okinawan, not up for negotiation.

  • @IEKUKATAKA wtf are you talking about...

  • @IEKUKATAKA ,just lol-ed at u....after reading ur channel

  • @olev456 22 years old, I guess you did laugh, you can't know your butt from first base about much at all. When you grow up and begin looking at the world from an objective point of view, maybe you will see, maybe not. Until then, that moist stuff behind your ears is placenta, kid.

  • @olev456 "Im no expert but in my 4 years practicing" Four years? Four years? How about 47 years? How about being trained by the JKA? How about having trained with the majority of the USA and European names in the JKA plus some from Japan? How about you just believing what you like, don't listen to an older person who has trained 22 years before you were born. Son, I do not argue with people who show me they are ignorantly stubborn. Take care, do as you see fit, no skin off of my teeth.

  • seems like today everybody is a shihan, wonder if you had commented asai senseis kata like this standing in front of a karate instructor or even tetsuhiko asai himself....hm

  • Asai SEnsei was really impressive, but his Kata has many mistakes.

He slide his foot in yori ashi too much.

If a westerner do this in grading he fails the grading, but can Masters do it??

  • @tokaidosan I hate the way Asai does his kata

  • @tokaidosan i don't think that you understand that real karate is.

obviously, in sport, you don t have to moove your feet in a dashi.

but katas were not make for competition...

if you see funakoshi or nakayama does a kata.. i don't think it's like luca valdesi or michael millon...

  • Asai´s Kata is complete shit!!!

I know Asai Sensei was a genius about Kumite but his Kata is terrible. If you see hin performing Tekki Katas his Kiba Dachi is weong all the time.

The real problem is if Asai was on my Grading Examination he probably will faill me becuase my dachi, but can not see his own errors

  • @tokaidosan ok, keyboard warrior, post ur vid about u doing this kata

  • this kata is shirt because Pace is not that of the kata. I am a brown belt And I make it better than your. Sorry if I write something badly I speak Spanish. BYE

  • Yahara's Empi is better

  • best kata 4 me. i miss karate training....

  • i do GKR karate and this is a 2nd kyu kata (two before black belt)

  • esse reealmente é um samurai

  • esse mestre era um samurai...

  • Definitely one of my favourite black belt kata's. Performed it a week ago at a tournament in Missisauga

  • Empi is an amazing shuri-te kata. A favourite kata in Shotokan school. Although in d syllabus it was ranked as brown white kata. but indeed performing with confident would bring success against kata that contain no jumping. most important, we need to understand 'in and out' of the kata before really performing it. I believe a prudent karateka should also understand the kata but not merely 'showing' it.

  • asai would wipe the floor with you ABSOULUTE FACT!

u are completly wrong u just dont know it!

  • if u want to see the tip of the tip of the iceberg of this mans ability please PLEASE type in...

Asai sensei's 'fundamental open hand block'

asai is an extremely effective martial artist

FACT!...im open for an intelligent but only an intellegent disscusion.

  • an intellegent disscusion.

    Answer.

Ok give the technique found with in this kata.

The correct techniques not some wishy washy techniques that wouldnt work

  • wannabeebee,

please take a minute to look at a new cllip of asai sensei

    "Asai sensei demo"

have a look and honestly tell me what u think.

  • Comment removed

  • Asai sensei demo

    I think;

He has put some of the shotokan stuff in there.

    His preference.

It could also do with some street fighting techniques to defend against.

He is going back to the roots of shuri te kata and some of the original origins of techniques.

    The guy is good.

Excellent find and well done for knowing your stuff

  • I love this kata, and i can do it perfectly lol.

one thing is that the moves should be sharp and the jump isn't done right!

  • Katas can't be done perfectly. Period.

And if you are 100% confident in your every move, I do pity you.

  • I won Gold medals in competitions like USANKF and AAU with this kata so I am confident. One thing is that when you do that jump, both feet bend backwards towards your back, then land on the floor.

The sensai did pretty well anyway, I don't think he did it as if he were doing it in a competition, He is doing it for show.

  • You do realise that you are correcting Asai Shihan - one of the greatest shokokan karate-ka and one of the most senior of the JKA.

I think if Asai Shihan had got his technical commitee together in the late 80's and suggested that everyone jumps like him - you would be doing exactly the same jump as him to win your gold medals.

Asai Shihan karate looks different to watch but thats only because he's made his karate suit him - but from training with him, he teaches pure shotokan

  • can u believe the stupidity of this guy commenting on an asai kata like this.i guess its just a complete lack of understanding.

acually theres no excuses its stupidity plain and simple.

  • i do this kata its my favourite

  • sniffle....i luv this kata

  • i love so much this kata <3....

  • Is this Asai doing the kata?

  • It looks very much like Asai sensei. I'm assuming that he was in his 60's by then. Pretty spry at his age.

  • Shotokan's version of Wanshu. Great!

  • que buen kata!!!!!!a good one really!!!ya me lo había olvidado,it looks brave catching balls, lol.

  • the jump could be better, for the rest, i cant complain=D

  • is that sensei macami of the jka karate association

  • beautiful. excellent technique.

  • beautiful..i love this kata

  • Asai Sensei moves like a cat

  • i'm just worried abt the jump..

  • ok!!!:)

  • After a certain age (about 40) you don't have to do the jump unless you are an instructor - guess i'd better practice the jump. Hope I don't break a hip

  • i don't know who gave you that advice....

it is not correct, there are not 2 versions of this kata - only 1.

  • By the way - have a guess at the age of the Instructor performing this Kata is?????

  • I didn't say two versions, just a slight variation to take into account the age and ability of students. Advised by my sensai -

a 3rd Dan who in turn is advised by our Kancho-a 7th Dan. Congrats on deducing my age.And yes I can do the spinning jump.
