  • thats not a bass, stop slapping it

  • Metal isn't everything, I know, but what most people don't seem to see is that a lot of these metal guitarists have a very jazz/classical background. They just like putting the super-heavy distortion on top of their jazz and classical music lol

  • this is one of the more creative uses for a 7 string that I've seen. keep it up!

  • thats awesome!

  • How much you paid for that? :)

  • BASS YEA

  • cmon buy a bass and stop abusing 7string guitars

  • @natrockskate Well if he gets that sound out of the guitar, it must god damn mean that its meant to do that..

  • @natrockskate people are still gonna drop tune a 6 string so what difference does it make to use a 7 or 8 string?

  • Nice guitar. I like the shape, the color is a little bleh. Nice jam, though

  • dude, buy a bass guitar

  • would you like a bass?

  • Fucking tits! whats the tunning?

  • @Charlymaumushi B E A D G B E

  • This is why 7 strings are awesome! Nice tone. Confusing people over whether you're playing a bass or guitar with these things never gets old.

  • Aw thats awesome!

I might looking on getting a 7 String guitar for under £300... anyone know anywhere I can get a decent 7 String for £300 or less?!

  • sorry typo

i meant agile 7 guitars are probably the best low-end 7s considering their price

  • I've got an Agile 8-string and calling it a "low-end" brand isn't really being fair. Low-end price does not a low-end guitar make. Agile quality is well above their market value.

  • @langestock they sooooo are!!! and from what i've gathered they shouldn't be called low ends. just not name brands

  • yeah youre right

i discussed this with someone below. i meant "low-end" as in low-price range, whereas if you define "low-end" as low quality they are definitely not low quality

  • Try Schecter's guitars. I got one for 430€ (there are some a bit cheaper), it's a bit more than 300£, but they're worth every pence!

  • no lol.... you can get the schecter hellraiser seven string for around 600 USD.... don't know how that translates into pounds but it's cheap for such a beautiful....

  • You can get a RG7321 Ibanez for around 400 USD. Thats what I got =) che k it out

  • 300 Euro's? I don't know what that translates to into dollars, but try looking at an Ibanez

  • Everyone! I live in Scotland so if you know in £'s that would be great! :)

  • Kinda reminds me of somthing Les Claypool would play. Except that isn't a bass.

  • i use it for nu metal, but alos for jazz and blues. when you play korn's k7 ibanez, its actually very good for 30's era blues, and the neck pickups are great for jazz.

  • finally someone who can actually use a 7-string for something besides metal

  • josh martin

  • @sreddy117 look up steve vai.

  • @sreddy117 Uhh, Steve Vai, Jeff Martin, Don Ross. Just to name a few that have been using the 7 string guitar for many years. Most of them pretty popular too....

  • @sreddy117 Well take a look at Tosin Abasi, he does play in a Metal band, although it is more instrumental and technical so it doesint sound like DeathMetal or anything that alot of 7-strings are used for. Also he uses an 8 so the virtuose is much bigger and cooler!

  • @sreddy117 -.-

  • @sreddy117 lol, 7-strings were strictly used in jazz way before they were ever used in metal...

  • @rockster07 ahah i thought 7 strings were because they wanted more notes to build on XD

  • @redlinecons yes.. for jazz application

  • @sreddy117 First electric seven strings guitar was a hollow body type for a jazz player, so he can do the walking bass in every tonality they play... on the other hand, today is used more in metal stuff... korn's fault!!! hahahaha

  • @sreddy117 Lol you can also play it jazzy.

  • @sreddy117 Look to Jimmy Foster video's dude, a jazzmen who uses 7 strings guitar, you will be voiceless in front of this!

  • What gauge strings do you use? I think JP uses 10's now.

  • cool man!

  • get the fuck outa here... that's insanely sick... i can fully dig it...

  • i need to work on my slapping. it's the one thing i fail at with string instruments

  • thats really cool! :O It sounds like your playing more then one instrunment at the same time :P . i need to get me one of those!

  • jesus christ thats a guitar!

  • Nice slapping

  • This is guitar my friend.

  • u can slap a guitar... and u can shred a bass... victor wooten is proof... :-)

  • @omfgapolarbear no This is a kind of bass XD

  • Hahaaa.

    Are you serious?

  • THIS IS BASS (line, played on a guitar)

    lol

  • This is a guitar dude...

and if Im not mistaken, it's a Musicman Silhouette

  • it's a Music Man John Petrucci 7

  • i like that..im torn between forging Korns simple exagerated heavy sound w. a early chilly pepper funk....freestyle something like that 4 me n let me kno so i can see it n maybe ill send u a video of my groove w. urs

  • This is a nice performance, but this guy needs a bass. Check out victor Wootens brother, Lamont. He slaps a guitar better than anyone. hands down. I still think slap sounds better on a bass though.

  • Yeah, I must admit I've never seen someone slap an electric guitar... Kinda cool, like 2 instruments in one with the 7-string there

  • search for "christophe godin" and you'll see some seroius guitar slapping.

  • i always thought i was the one who came up with slapping on an electric guitar but every time i get an idea someone else has it lol

  • I think you mean "Reggie". Lamont is Victa's middle name.

Joseph, keys. Futch, drums. Rudy, sax.

And Reggie's slap tone is woefully thin. I like his playing, but his tone is hardly there. Single coils don't exactly help beef up.

  • Yeah, Reggie. oops. I even met the cat.

His tone is thin, I agree.

Check out some of my 7 and 8 string vids....

  • So good to see a quality video among the "look i have a 7 string guitar and use full gain but can't play, so i'm cool!" videos around here. the 7th string is indeed a very useful percussive tool and in my opponion any clean riff sounds ten times better if it's played 5 half-steps lower. It all seems to have more substance and sounds more "profound" you could say.

  • Dude, there's nothing wrong with a 7 string and some great distortion. Those things are made for that.

  • Yea, but you can hear a good jazz player get some great bottom end off those things.

  • That's really true.

  • everyone has to start somwhere, so what if some people arent good yet?internet trash talk is so pointless

  • you're pointless!!!!

  • yes

  • hell yes!

  • FUNCKEY!!!

  • MUSICMAN!!!

  • Awesome funky rhythm! =D

  • sick as hell

  • yeah.. man.. funky..

  • SLAP SLAP MAN! COOL!

  • ahahah that was awesome man!

  • how much was that there 7 string.. used to have a JP 6 but i want to know the difference in price from 6 to 7

  • OH FUCK!!! a J Petrucci music man... I Goddamn love that guitar (but not it's price XD)!!!

cool litle jam man, and great guitar, you must have ruined yourself!

  • very nice!

  • great color on that JP 7-string. Ernie Ball discontinued a lot of those obscure colors from their musicman inventory.

  • dam guitarists have to take glory away from bass players...

  • thats some cool shit dude, i've never looked at playing a 7 string like that, but yeah, im a bass player too, so i'll have to try that out some time

  • thats frikkin good man, very nice style .
