Can someone over 25 here please tell me what the fuck is so good about breakdowns? They aren't "brutal", nor do they really add anything to a very large portion of songs that use them at all. They only thing they can ever really boast is destroying all originality and any interesting riffs.

I mean, it's so fucking lame how they use breakdowns over 5 times in a song... Why even make a song? Why not just make an album of breakdowns? God fucking damn it.

its just a rhythmic series of notes to get a point across. nothing to get so critical about. it bothers me that people get so...quick to judge other peoples choices of music. if someone wants to tune a sevenstring guitar down a step and play slow and low, they have every right to. without having to hear other people tellling them their wrong. so...think about it next time you decide to say that someones choice of music is crap. if you dont like breakdowns in metalcore then and dont listen to it.
