Bill Moseley is one man who I feel could never receive the amount of recognition that he deserves as an actor. How many actors can honestly pull off a role like this that damn well.

Otis is a predator. He's prepared to mutilate, torture and kill for his own amusement. This scene clearly shows that Christian ideas and ideals are not relevant when dealing with someone who's not bound by those same ideals. He wins because he rejects those ideals. As a character he is fantastic as a individual none of us would really want to meet him because we wold not survive that encounter.

More specifically, the character is a psychopath pursuant to the DSM-IV, that is to say, he suffers from an anti-social personality disorder that prevents him from feeling empathy for others. Most wars have historically been fought for religious purposes, including the Christian Crusades, all 30 or so. Christian generals in the US military have proclaimed the religious nature of the Iraq conflict. So Christianity is no guarantee of peace.

We in the western world share values that we call Christian values and what I ment was that Otis does not share those same values and that's why he's so dangerous. As for calling him a psychopath, Psychology attempts to explain evil with different labels, psychopath, sociopath and so on.

This is the first horror movie I ever owned and the last.... I see no point wasting time with the others. I remember the original Texas Chainsaw massacre , the part where the guy gets clobbered in the head was the most gruesome realistic horror movie scene I ever seen. This movie is even better but it can't top that cudgel scene lol
